Discussion / Question LETS KEEP OUR GAMES
Gamers deserve meaningful ownership rights, the ability to transfer or resell games, where legally permitted, and protections against games becoming completely unplayable when online services shut down.
This isn’t just about today’s games. It’s about preserving gaming history for future generations.
The proposed bill directs the Federal Trade Commission to establish strict regulations ensuring that when consumers purchase a video game, they receive true ownership rather than a temporary rental disguised as a sale.
In addition to securing full ownership, transfer rights, and resale capabilities for players, the legislation mandates that games with online functionality must provide an offline mode before supporting servers are deactivated. This requirement aims to prevent instances where popular titles become completely unplayable after publishers end live server support.
If enacted into law, the bill would mark a major victory for consumer protection advocates and set a sweeping precedent across the broader digital economy, fundamentally reshaping how digital software and entertainment media are sold nationwide.

Discussion / Question What is the greatest recovery job in gaming history?
I’m going to go with one of my favourite ever games- Cyberpunk 2077. To experience how broken it was when it first released to how polished it is today, I’m struggling to think of a bigger turn around. Maybe No Man’s Sky?

Other When all consoles are the same high price as gaming PCs
I know it's not confirmed, but with the rumored price of the next Xbox being over $1200, we know it's a sign that gaming is cooked.
I mean the whole point of consoles were that they were a cheaper options them gaming PCs. But if they are the same price, then what's the point? And even with PCs being too expensive to upgrade, people will not bother.
I mean, do they think we would take out second mortgages to keep up with the newest tech? Of course not. They would need to save money on important stuff, and entertainment is the first thing they will cut.
Hopefully, this will change before the next Xbox release and the RAMpocalypse ends, or else it's over for gaming!

Discussion / Question Does anyone else just wanna quit playing online video games just because of people being so rude and ruined it for everyone else?
Serious, I'm just getting so sick of this shit.Every single game anywhere always has people trying to be try hards and just be rude for no reason pc or console, it's just so annoying. You can just be having fun and for no reason , someone's has to ruin it

Discussion / Question It's fine that we're not getting ME 5. It would never have been good.
Like, we know that if Bioware had of released ME5 it would have sucked.
Like listen, guys, I loved Bioware. Knights of the Old Republic was one of the first video games I played, and it might be the most formative video game experience I've ever had. Dragon Origins was excellent. Mass Effect is excellent.
But the company you love died so, so long ago. DA2 and ME3 were incredibly flawed compared to their predecessors, Inquisition as a story and as a game was a safe, corporate betrayal of what DA was about. Andromeda was a new low for shit games until Vileguard came and lowered the bar even further.
Bioware did not "die" today. It died so long ago that the corpse has stopped smelling. It was just skeleton being puppeteered on strings. And now those strings are cut.
Finally.

Discussion / Question BioWare Shutting Down Not A Surprise
I'm being honest when I say that I'm more surprised they weren't shutdown after Veilguard. I miss old BioWare, but most of the talent that made the games we love haven't been there in years. And I'm not sure that the new Mass Effect wouldn't have been a mess either. Just my unpopular opinion.

Discussion / Question So next-gen will cost damn near TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS with no physical media!?!??!🤣🤣🤣
Might skip this next console generation ngl, I can’t imagine it’ll be some insane leap over the current one that could make it worthwhile.
I only got a PS5 slim in 2024(was hard to get when I lived in Canada during covid, didn’t hv the money nd I was busy with uni anyways) plus I got a switch 2 recently so I’m in no rush for a new console. Frankly I don’t think this current generation feels worthwhile as Covid hindered a lot of people from truly enjoying/accessing it and there’s barely been era defining games that left any lasting impact
1k plus for a GAME CONSOLE that’ll become replaced in a few years is a ludicrous waste of money, I’d like to finally get a pc instead but God those ram prices are scary too.

Discussion / Question What games have TOO MUCH content to the point that it becomes so overwhelming it almost makes you want to quit?
I've been making my way through Crimson Desert and although I've been loving the experience so far, after almost 50 hours in the game and still looking at like.. 50% unexplored map I got me wondering what other games out there just have too much damn stuff in them?
I'm having to try and rewire my brain as I play this game so that I can just focus on the smaller tasks/picture rather than MUST DO EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD. So it's a learning experience for me.
