What system are you on? On PC I find 3-5 full lobbies just in my sector every day.

Yes the single player was definitely better in the 1st while 2nd is still good. The MP in BFBC2 is simply amazing. I still sometimes watch the YouTube trailers of the MP pure quality

Bad Company 2 shares joint Goat position with BF4 imo.
Bad Company for obvious reasons, great campaign and characters, good visuals, awesome sound design and the multiplayer was fun as fuuuck.
BF4 is a more controversial pick, especially due to it's terrible launch, but I think it represented the pinnacle of the series when it was in it's (pretty long) golden era. It had everything you'd want from a BF game. Huge scale battles as well as tight CQC, often both in one map. All kinds of air vehicles, naval maps and modes, good class interplay, good weapon/vehicle customisation and on top of that, Battlelog and the community aspect was amazing at the time, and to top it all off the Commander mode was a really cool feature that I honestly thought would remain in the game and be expanded upon, especially in modern settings (guess not...).
BF3 Vs 4 is often debated, and I 100% agree 3 had a certain vibe to it, BF4 grew from and preserved that vibe and made some fantastic changes which I really hoped would shape the series going forward.

My goat is battlefield Vietnam with the music. Bfbc and bfbc2 also amazing though

Oh hell yeah. I still hold expansions for other games up to the mighty standard of BFBC2: Vietnam. What a fucking awesome time that was.

u/TheOmbundsman 9h ago
Sorry, battlefield Vietnam is its own game? My mistake 😅

u/Influence_X 9h ago
Bfbc2 Vietnam had music but it was made for that expansion. Battlefield Vietnam you could play fortunate son out of the vehicles.

u/TheOmbundsman 9h ago
Oh that's cool. Didn't the choppers play music in bc2 Vietnam? I remember fortunate son playing on the loading screen alright.

Battlefield Vietnam had multiple actual songs from the 1960s. Bfbc2 had custom songs with no lyrics that just sounded like music from the 60s

Oh right. Well, either way, I loved bc2 and the Vietnam expansion. I didn't have a PC back then, so it was excellent for a console game. Expecially all the destruction.

As far as impact when it came out, 1942 is the GOAT in that regard, it changed Multiplayer gaming

I picked it up recently and love it but got stuck on the fn satellite mission haha. Haven't returned to it yet

I miss the howitzer in BC1 killing your teammates to get your turn till someone killed you. The absolute best!!!

Personally, BF2142 was my favorite. Bad Company 2 was 2nd favorite and overall probably best all around game. Followed by 3, then 2. 1942 always was fun because of just arcade feel. Then after 3 it went ok let's match cod and release every year.

Nah no way. Has to be 2142. It's probably a good 2nd or 3rd though. BF2 is also up there

I played basically every Battlefield except 1942 (the original). I bought BFBC2 shorty after discovering BC1. That game engrossed me. I could not stop playing and I probably had over 1000 hours when it was finally at the end of its life and BF3 came out. That being said, BF3 was such an insane leap for the franchise that I think it'll always be between these two for me. I really can't decide lol

100% The maps were on another level. They actually built maps based around Rush which made rush so much fun. Now they just build maps then cut out sections for rush which killed the game type. Bad company 2 Vietnam was amazing and the immersion was crazy.

It was the OG that made me love Battlefield, but GOAT is Battlefield 1. I’m a WWI head anyway, and that game is a masterpiece.

A friend of mine got banned by ea because he was sniping people with a shotgun. Mind you he was not cheating one bit and was using the in game availeble perks and guns.
Good times.

BF3 for me was my GOAT. Operation Metro's meat grinder matches were always fun.

BC2 does a lot of little things that make me love it. All of its unique gameplay quirks and the absolute peak map design make it almost equal to BF3.
I do think BF3 is overall the better game but I have more fond memories of playing BC2.

For the story 100%, for multiplayer it has to be either BF1 or BF4.
BF4 has a slight edge over BF1 due to overall multiplayer experience with maps, weapons, destructive mechanics and also nostalgia.
BF1 is untouchable when it comes to atmosphere and immersion.

u/UnfortunateSnort12 9h ago
No. Battlefield 2 is the GOAT of the entire series. Followed closely by Battlefield: Vietnam.

For nostalgia , maybe, but be honest older can't be better than newer ,

???
People cant find the old games to be better or they’re not being honest? Like are we talking about strictly graphics, but even then I can see some downgrades throughout the franchise entry to entry.
I guess every game franchise is on a constant upward trajectory of quality

Both bad company had really good maps. Especially the first one with really different atmosphere.
BC and BC2 put solid base for bf3 Wich is probably the best or BF1 with the mode Grand operation

It's Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 3, if I'm trying to be objective about it.
My heart says BF1 though ❤️.
