That I'm only about a third of the way through the world's longest training intro

I've yet to experience snow in person (should change now I've moved) because it hasn't snowed where I'm from since before I was born, so I live through that experience through games like RDR2, Arkham Origins and Shenmue. So I'm thankful for things like this.

Beginning of an awesome/sad adventure… I love snow so That first camp during the blizzard is very cozy.

because i play videogames?? does one need to play RDR2 to be able to scroll this site??
if you want an explanation. PC was to shit to run the game back then, and now im too spoiled of the story and many sidequests to play the game.

Ugh, how much I hate restarting that game and getting stuck playing the prologue.

early part of RDR2 a slog?

Depends on the person. I’m not someone who will replay a big story game like this, I’ve probably played rdr2 3 times so it’s a treat every time. I could see how it would annoy people who do multiple play throughs often

The first time, I enjoyed it. Good story, sets things up nicely, not too overwhelming throwing you immediately into a massive open world. The second time (because my original save got deleted somehow) I just couldn't wait until I could get past it because its like 2 hours of linear storytelling.

Exactly how I felt about it too. Really enjoyed it the first time, great starting point to get me into the story

Only for impatient tik tok brained induviduals. I understand for repeat playthrough because free roam isn't unlocked fully yet. But for first timers no excuse because it sets the whole pacing of this game and has quality from the first scenes.

It means I'm going to have to zone out the beginning part of the game for the next hour or two while I wait for the open World part to start.

“Is this going to be failed attempt to love this game number 5?”
Sadly, I really do want to get into it. Absolutely loved RDR but despite multiple attempts since launch day, I have yet to manage to get through more than a third of this one.

There's a new mod, enrage, adds the nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor. Might add the special sauce you need

I remember playing RDR2 for the first time and got really excited thinking they were going to do a Hateful Eight reference and they didn’t 😔 such a wasted opportunity imo.

Doesn't Fable 2 have like a Demon Door with a creepy house in the snow similar to this?
