Rule #9 has been posted as a further explanation regarding our automod, specifically around the phrase "fuck cancer". We review each of those as they come through and approve them as quickly as we can. It can be frustrating so we wanted to add some transparency to how things work to keep this place supportive. Cancer is horrible to many people, their friends, and families; and we are happy that the community at r/bald can provide some minor relief to those managing the awful disease. Fuck cancer.

Had to do one ridiculous pose (people who take themselves too seriously are no fun) but I think it's an improvement! Thank you all for the help today!
P.S. To the three people who recommended head tats don't worry I'm way ahead of you .... Updates coming at some point.
Before photos at the end.

Its just me saying hello and showing off the baldness and boldness and to the one whom requested my black watch tartan your wish has been granted
It started as a Halloween costume, but honestly, I feel surprisingly handsome with this ridiculous haircut.

another edit to add: damn i can tell some of you don’t read the text on posts, and also some of you are so damn rude lol but this is reddit so should’ve expected it 😂 THE BEARD HAS BEEN TRIMMED IT NO LONGER LOOKS LIKE PUBES
EDITED TO ADD: i’m planning on cutting my beard shorter today, i just took those pics this morning before i lost the courage to post this 😅
hey everyone, wanted some opinions.
I’m 30, non-binary, and been on low dose testosterone for 7 years, i’ve been gradually receding but no other hair loss (no patchiness, thinning, balding at the crown etc), i’m very attached to my hair because i never liked it before testosterone made it curly, but it turning curly allowed me to grow it and actually like it (it looked terrible when i tried to grow it out with straight hair, trust me).
I know i’m gonna have to cut it eventually, it’s more a case of when, i probably won’t go fully bald at first as well, i’ll include a pic of what i’m thinking for my next hairstyle, a thin mohawk kinda thing (pic 8). I’ll also include pics of me in my late teens + early 20’s so you can see the hairline i started off with as comparison as well, and an in-between pic (pink and brown hair).
But yeah, do i cut it sooner rather than later? does my hair look bad with how bad the receding is? please be honest but kind 😅

Been meaning to do it in a long while and so far I’m really happy with it.
Any tips for newcomers? 🙌

I love all you guys. I took the plunge. It feels great! Thank you everyone.

I’m not sure how I feel about but I thought id come here to show it off
Just in case you’re panicking about doing it—it’s a non-issue.
EDIT: I posted this as a positive message—that one’s character is far more important than one’s hair, or lack of it. I’m sorry it triggered so many guys; never anticipated that outcome.

I cannot begin to express how overwhelmed I am from my previous post. I genuinely expected to be roasted and get comments about a brown paper bag would be my best accessory because that is what I have more or less been told and believed about myself. I still don't love the way I look, and want to improve things like losing more weight. But for the first time ever in my adult life, I am starting to not vehemently detest the way I look, thanks to the kindness from all you people that I still cannot comprehend. Also about a beard like so many of you commented, being on the fire department I am not allowed to have anything more than stubble. The stereotypical mustache is fair game though.

Is it time to bite the bullet? The back is pretty full but I can't photograph the back of my head easily.

I had beautiful long blonde hair for a good 5 years but I finally shaved it short 6 months ago because the front was getting too thin. I still miss it every day. I tried to do the short hair thing for the last 6 months but it doesn't look good, I think it's probably just too far gone, was hoping to have decent hair at least until I turn 30 but it's looking like 24 is gonna be as far as I get. The only thing that stopped me from going bald previously was people telling me Id look too much like my abusive father but here we are. Probably gonna need to face the music huh.

I’ve been clean bald for like 8 years, but it’s not gotten any worse. This is about a week and a half growth. My question is— I like being bald, but if I wanted to, I think I could still get some length and it would look good with the right cut. Am I delusional? I seek the counsel’s advice.
This is in quite stark bathroom light. I’m starting on the typical treatments. Last 3 pics are from 6 months ago. I have a big ugly head… Maybe better to keep it buzzed and minimise friction while I see if things can improve?

No, i havent darkened my head to make it look like a good hairline buzz, its either a shadow or the material from my hat(it was so warm inside and i was sweating, so most likely the hat)

Grew it out for a while then decided to grow it out even more for a Halloween costume.
