Women only Male employee at a grocery store kept trying to get me to interact with him.

1.3k Upvotes

Produce section. He walks up and starts moving tomatoes around. I walk to the cucumbers.

He follows. "Hey," he says. I nod and say "hey," and walk away.

I'm looking at hot sauces. "You like spice?" He asks. I'm immediately put off. I Just smile, shrug, mumble "yeah," and walk off.

I continue my shopping and think I'm free of him. But, no, when I go to the check out, he runs up to bag my purchases. I'm talking to the female cashier, and he keeps interrupting.

I ignore him. I basically rush to my car. He follows me outside to "collect carts." I had parked next to the cart collection station, so he was watching closely, basically trying to look busy so that he can stare at me and try for another interaction.

I put my cart in the collection area. "You could've handed that off to me," he said. I don't respond. I get in my car and leave.

Men are so creepy.

Vivek Ramaswamy launches $4 million ad campaign of controversial video featuring Amy Acton’s estranged mother (who remained with Acton's abuser)

Thumbnail edition.cnn.com

Sorry for editorialising the title, but this has to be one of the most evil moves by a political campaign I've seen.

Acton (gubernatorial candidate for Ohio) was sexually abused when she was twelve by a paedophile who her mother remained supportive of and married to, even after the abuser was convicted and sent to prison for his crimes.

Ramaswarmy is now using her mother's words against Acton in an attack ad.

Like, if there is any good in the world then this will sink Ramaswarmy's campaign and he'll never be heard from again

Women only We need to have higher standards for the men we allow in our lives.

I keep on seeing these heartbreaking posts where women are trying to make a relationship work with a man who actively dislikes them.

If he calls you names, break up with him.

If he eats all your food even you've meal prepped or made something special or labeled it as yours, break up with him.

If he talks down about your friends or family or fashion, break up with him.

I know it's "easier said than done", but these men aren't just mistreating you. They're eating you alive. Bit by bit, you're being consumed by this man and it'll continue until you're but a shell of who you once were.

Don't settle for a man who says that he'd die for you or kill for you. Men need no inspiration to take the violent route - enacting violence in your name is just an excuse to be violent.

Would he get a c-pap machine to deal with his snoring for you?

Would he notice that you're almost out of face wash and buy some more for you?

Would he go into that girly, expensive store you wanted to visit and not complain to you?

Would he celebrate your special days in ways that made you feel special?

Don't settle for someone who actively dislikes you. There will be someone out there who is excited by your presence and company wants to do these things.

You all deserve to be happy.

entitlement to food?

my dad has always been a big eater. thats expected of him i guess but sometimes it feels a bit entitled. on my birthdays, he'll eat most of the cake, he has the biggest portions at dinner time and he often eats entire packages of cookies to himself while my mom gets nothing at all. he made brownies today which i didnt even know about. apparently my brother got two pieces and my mom didnt have any, as usual while i wasnt even told, which means he ate more than 75% of the pan. i might just be emotional because im on my period but its making me kind of upset.

I think I experienced micro-feminism today? 🙂

Today I had to go to a mandatory work event and met with a male friend who also works there. We are going booth to booth to receive information about company policy and things. When we go to one booth the woman starts speaking to us and I notice it feels like she is looking at me a lot when speaking rather than both of us. But then I realize that despite a male presence standing by my side she is mainly addressing this information to me! I guess I am more used to anyone addressing the man first and making more eye contact with them kind of like I'm a second thought u know. E.g. if you're married and ask for someone to fix your house up, the maintenance person mainly addresses the "man of the house" even if the woman called about it.

That is my little joy of the day hehe. I know it could've been a coincidence but it felt intentional in a good way.

Petite women's clothing is not actually for Petite women

I'm short about 5'1ft (155cm) and found that petite clothing is still a fair bit too long. I consider myself the taller size of short.

Petite clothing is made for those around 5'3-5'4ft (160 -163cm) which in places like the UK and US is average height. That is not petite it is just clothes made to fit the general public...

It really annoys me that clothes are so ill suited for women that the brands for short women are actually for the average person. Not to mention they do not make the wait shorter so if I want something height waisted it ends just under my boobs 💀.

Why does women clothing suck for everyone...

My brother has sent $0 in 4 years, I send $400 a month and my mom says “it’s different”

I’m 27 and i send my parents $400 a month, my brother is 28 and makes more than me and has sent $0 in 4 yrs because he’s saving for his own family. I am the one who fixes the roof, pays for dad’s medicine and remembers every date and my mom brags to relatives about how responsible he is.

she says you’re a daughter, it’s your duty, i said he’s a son and she said it’s different and when i asked how,she said you wouldn’t understand yet.

and idk how they feel they get a vote on my whole life, my mom has opinions on my rent, my hair and who i am texting when we’re on the phone, my dad asked me for a photo of my lease and btw my brother gets asked none of this.Every month i have to screenshot the confirmation from aspora and post it in the family whatsapp group so everyone can see i sent it, my brother has never had to post anything.

I send it on the 1st and she answers with a thumbs up emoji,ya thats it.And btw i love my family a lot and they hv been really loving but this does affects me alot. The way they treat me differently, makes me think if they still love me anymore

Being a male feminist is all about how you treat women you’re unattracted to

Hear me out; being a true ally to the feminist cause is about being kind and civil to those you don’t want to fuck. If you’re only nice to those you want to sleep with it isn’t the move you think it is. Often men have disgusting behavior towards those they deem lesser and don’t treat them as people. We’re all human beings at the end of the day. We all deserve the same respect and dignity afforded to others. When men start seeing women as whole human beings the world will be a better place. Even conventionally attractive women get shit treatment at times. Come on. Do better.

A nationwide Finnish study of more than 1.3 million children found that boys received more prescription medicines in childhood, but the pattern reversed during adolescence.

By age 17, girls had 70% more pharmacy dispensations than boys in 2025.

What do you think might explain the reversal?

Angry at how men who commit domestic violence are treated NSFW

A friend was shot by her long time boyfriend, who then killed himself when the police arrived. She thankfully survived, has undergone surgery, and is recovering. They have two small children.

People are posting how sweet he was, how he had a hard time in life but loved his family, how he’ll be deeply missed. All the while she’s fighting for her life in the hospital because of what he did.

I’m so angry for her and her children and her family for having to see him glorified all over social media. It wasn’t a secret what he did. He’s been arrested before and had police out for domestic violence. We’ve tried so many times to get her away, but he always lured her back.

It’s not fair. No mention of her in these posts. No consideration for the victim in this scenario.

Fuck him.

A man who has been harassing me for years somehow found my exact address, including my apartment number, and sent me a creepy gift. I’m terrified.

Several years ago, when I was living in a different state across the country, I met this guy through some shared hobbies. We became friends, but he eventually developed feelings for me that I did not reciprocate. I made it clear on multiple occasions that I wasn’t interested in pursuing anything romantic with him, and I rejected his advances several times. He became increasingly persistent to the point where I felt uncomfortable and eventually decided to block him. That only made things worse. He started calling me nonstop, going off on me and insulting me, often from different phone numbers that I can only assume he created specifically to get around being blocked.

Over the years, he has repeatedly tried to contact me, always using different numbers. He still tries to contact me once every few months. The last time he did, I got really pissed off and basically told him to leave me the fuck alone and get a life. I thought that would finally get the message across, but apparently not.

Today, I went to pick up my packages and noticed one addressed to me, with my exact address and apartment number, but under a name that literally nobody calls me anymore. Nobody except him. I immediately thought that was strange, but I took the package upstairs and opened it. Inside was a note that said, “I think about you always” signed with his name, along with a necklace featuring this creepy-looking human figure with its arms forming a circle around its body. I just stared at it because what the actual fuck?

Here’s the part that’s genuinely terrifying to me: I NEVER gave him my address. We have no mutual acquaintances, he doesn’t know my social media nor do I publicly share my address anywhere, and I’m very careful about my privacy. This man somehow found out exactly where I live, down to my apartment number, despite me never telling him where I moved. And the creepiest part is that I have absolutely no idea how he found me. How am I supposed to know he hasn’t been watching me? How do I know he hasn’t been outside my apartment building or following me without me even realizing it? The fact that he knows exactly where to find me, after years of me trying to get him to leave me alone, actually terrifies me.

To make things worse, I’m currently living alone, far from family, and this has made me question whether I should even continue staying in this apartment. I no longer feel safe in my own home. What’s even creepier is that a few weeks ago I literally had a dream where I heard a noise in the middle of the night, woke up, and walked over to my front door, only to see someone standing right outside in the dark. I know it was just a dream, but remembering it now, after what happened today, makes me freak out even more. Now, every noise I hear I’m scared.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? And also, would you consider this stalking behavior, and what steps would you take in my situation? Am I justified in feeling scared enough to consider leaving this apartment?

Why is “feminist” considered a bad word in some circles?

So I recently moved to a small town with less than 1,000 people in it. I have a son who is 1 that I stay home with and we’ve been looking to make new friends. For the record, I have literally never lived in a place this small or rural before, I’m from a large city in the U.S. and have also lived in various large European capital cities before. I already knew moving here that I would most likely run into way more conservative people than I typically do, but this one threw me off a bit.

I met another mom friend at a library story time and hit it off. We decided to meet up after the next story time and take our kids for a walk together. While we were walking we were getting to know each other and then she started sharing her birth story. She really highlighted several times how she didn’t feel supported or listened to at all from her male doctors during pregnancy and labor, how she had some retained placenta after giving birth but her doctor wouldn’t listen until her husband stepped in (she was mad about that), how she got a DNC to remove it, and how generally life with a baby is unfair bc we as women are expected to do so much more.

She then apologized at complaining so much so I jumped in and said “hey don’t worry about it, I’m a feminist too believe in women’s rights and that the medical system sucks as a woman.” Then I shared how my doctors didn’t listen to me after I gave birth and had an infection (that would have turned deadly had I not insisted on some tests).

She VISIBLY cringed when the word feminist left my mouth, and after this little section of conversation the vibe was SO off. I guess I just assumed since she was very obviously complaining about inequalities she experienced due to her gender, that she also would be a feminist? Idk. Should I avoid saying that if I want to make friends here? It feels wrong to just pretend I’m not but we’re “stuck” in this town for the next few years and I would like to have some friends.

I can’t wrap my head around men thinking they have a say in a woman’s pregnancy

EDIT Guys I totally f’d up this post. I meant to say: if he doesn’t want the child, but she does, he should STILL HAVE TO PAY CHILD SUPPORT.

Back to the post:

I truly want to surmount this mental hurdle. That’s the only reason I’m posting about it. I can’t find any other posts that is specifically saying what I want to say.

Every boyfriend I’ve had, at some point we have a casual discussion about pregnancy (initiated by me).

Points that men have made to me:
- The pregnancy is half his because it’s his genes.
- He should have equal say in any termination, under any circumstance.
- If he doesn’t want the child, but she does, he shouldn’t have to pay any child support. ***EDIT*** if he doesn’t want the child, but she does, he should STILL HAVE TO PAY CHILD SUPPORT.

I’m sorry but I see it completely differently.

I think the pregnancy is completely mine, completely my own cells and nutrients from my body, and I am the one that bears carrying the child to term so every decision is up to me. So if he wants it but I don’t, he has no say.

Also if I want it but he doesn’t, he still has to pay something. Obviously I would have to pay too. That’s the contract we wrote when we went to pound town. Yes there are situations where one party can manipulate a situation to attain a pregnancy. And to that I say, that the man still signed his name on the dotted line.

I’m feeling like I’ve got these radical views. Like it kind of is all or nothing for me. I definitely don’t understand the science behind pregnancy and the males genes. I would like to be more flexible and open to other views but I’ll be damned if I don’t just FEEL this way.

I’m sure there’s nuanced situations where my arguments totally fall apart. I would love to hear them.

Where did the "women shouldn't be leaders of power because they will get their period and start war" stereotype even come from?

I'm not trying to prove a point, but I genuinely don't understand this rhetoric. Anyone who says this has literally zero idea as to how period works.

do you seriously think a woman's hormones are so uncontrollable that the second they're on their period they want to bomb a country? That is genuinely the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Do you seriously think a woman is gonna go "man my period sucks today. Let me start war with Uzbekistan" like what the hell? I've never heard anything more stupider than that.

Also, a majority of wars aren't started from emotional outbursts. They were started over things like oil, money, or just to prove a point. Cherry on top; these wars were started by men.

Men being sexual to me turns me off

By that I mean whenever men I just met try to talk sexually with me, especially through text. I hate it and makes me cringe. It doesn’t matter if they’re the hottest man I’ve ever seen. Once they start asking me what I’m into and telling me what they’re into, I’m icked out. Am I being too sensitive? In my experience men who are like this are mentally unstable. Thats why it turns me off.

Why Does Everything Feel So Heavy Right Now?

Hi, everyone,

I just feel crazy overall. I literally suck. My life sucks. I have been suffering for the past many years, and I don't know if it's a me problem. To be very honest, I was looking through young actresses' social media, and they seem to have everything they need in life: money, cars, clothes, beauty, great skin and hair, style, bags, shoes, literally everything.

I have been studious and earned a professional degree, but what for? I hit my 30s, and my salary is still peanuts. I don't know what's next for my life or career. I haven't experienced love, neither from my family nor from others. Nothing is right about me. Nothing.

When will things change for me? After I hit my 80s? Even after 80, I feel like my life won't change. All my good years are passing by. Everyone else is living their life; I am not. I don't have anything, beauty, mental health, physical health, emotional health, or wealth. Nothing. I don't know what went wrong, and I don't know the reason for my suffering. What should I do?

I need to share this because I feel so loved right now, it is a brag, but also advice not to settle for anything less ladies.

I have been with my now husband for nearly 20 years, since we were both shit for brains teenagers. We were never the sort of couple who were a 'set' but individuals who knew what they wanted out of life eventually and worked towards it. It wasn't perfect or linear and we aren't exactly where we both planned to be when we first talked about it all, because the world is different and life threw us some curve balls, apart from one aspect - our family. He did not come pre-programmed like this, having had an abusive and neglectful childhood but we moulded each other and grew into what we are now.

I am currently on maternity leave (writing this, nap trapped by my baby). I have the better paying, stressful career day to day (80% full time due to disabilities), he works from home, full time, for the government for quite a bit less money, but it is a busy job. Yet, this man is a provider, this is what a provider looks like. Right now, and for the last 3 months my responsibility is the baby. If I can (and most of the time I can, and I am better at this and I like to) I cook beakfast and dinner for when our 4 year is home from school. We sort out our own lunches. When I cannot he will make sure we eat, whether thats remembering to defrost the leftovers, getting the expensive ready meal or making the occasional meal he can cook (not much take out availability where we are, and all of it not very nice). Apart from that I try to do one chore in the house a day, but I don't have to if the night was too hard (the Baby isn't great sleeper). I sort out and manage the medical side of things for the kids, which requires attention at most once a month, but he will take them to the appointments competent to answer all the questions if I cannot. My husband, he does it all. He does pick up, drop off, laundry, ironing, all the cleaning, the bins, he walks the very energetic dog. He has a spreadsheet to manage our finances, every month I transfer money from my account to the joint account and forget about it whilst he makes sure everything is sorted and paid for (apart from my professional fees and personal phone bill). He takes the toddler to the park or for activitiee if I am too tired to join or so I don't have to manage both of the kids. In the evenings and at weekends we do almost everything around the children together (I take the lead on the arts and crafts, baking etc). Every day he takes the very clingy Baby whilst I do bed time with the Toddler so that we can have that 1:1 alone time they were use to before the Baby. Sometimes that means soothing them for 45 minutes as they scream. I take the night shift and I don't tend to wake him, he is a deep deep sleeper but if I need to I know I can even if its just to hold the baby for 5 minutes or go get me something (will he be grumpy, yes, has he always needed more sleep than me and been the don't talk to me until I have had my coffee and pee kind of person, yes, and I knew that. No one is perfect*) He suprises me with Matcha lattes, with flowers and baked goods (I do the same when I am out). He remembers the birthdays and writes out the cards to our friends and family without needing a reminder. I only do when he is too busy or forgets. I am the troubleshooter, the back up, he IS the BACKBONE.

I have long term health conditions that I did not have when we first met, he did not sign up for this but he deals with it with complete love and devotion. My illnesses wax and wane, but even when "well" when I come back home from work I am exhausted, my only responsibility then, if I can ,is to be present for the kids, something I want to be anyway and will bleed myself dry to be, much to his annoyance (so sometimes he just takes them away to prevent me from doing so). On bad days I lie in bed unable to move, chewing makes me tired and he does it all. This man has cleaned me up when my bodily functions are too much to handle, he has dressed and undressed me, washed me, helped me brush my teeth and fed me with a spoon. And every day, especially on those days he tells me and wants to make me feel beautiful even when I cannot.

He doesn't water my houseplants when I can't and doesn't tend the herb garden. So they do die sometimes when life gets too much. Nobody is perfect*.

My husband is a brilliantly smart, sharp, hilarious, 5'11 good looking man, with a good job who could have left me for someone 'easier' someone who would take on more of the load. At low points in my life I wanted him to, I pushed him away. There were multiple women that have shown an interest, some very unsubtly, some I thought were better looking than me. But he, not gently though gentlemanly tells them to f*ck off every time. He has hobbies and interests he pursues with passion. He has friends he can rely on and that rely on him. He extends this to my friends. He is the diplomat and peacekeeper of his family and supports me to be the same in mine. He is the safe man you want when around an unsafe man. And he manages all of this with stoicism at worst but a smile most of the time. He runs on hugs, prayers and tasty food.

Nobody is perfect *but this man is pretty close. They exist and he inspires his friends to be the same. I hope he can inspire the men in your life.

Mammogram callback

Hi, I'm 40 and I just had my first mammogram last Friday and received a letter stating that I needed additional imaging done and I am kind of losing it.

I have major health anxiety as it is and my father and aunt both passed away from cancer, so I know I'm letting my mind get the best of me. The mammogram report stated that I have a 1.1cm asymmetry in my left breast. It also said my breasts are mostly fatty which I know is better than density. But shouldn't it be easier to read? Argh.

I have to wait for my OBGYN to send in the diagnostic order for an appointment and the wait is just.. a lot.

I also have dumb insurance with a dumb high deductible and I'm already mentally preparing for a fight with them when they don't cover this appointment/test at all.

Sigh.

Any experiences that were positive? I know that not having previous mammograms and nothing to compare it to is a thing as well, but ... Anxiety. She's my closet pal. I just wanna see my kids grow up.

Someone talk me off the ledge. Please.

Direct personal experience only Couples Who Have Been Together for 5–6+ Years, Is Your Sex Life Still the Same as Before?

I want to ask couples who have been together for 5–6 years or more about their sex life.

When you first started your relationship, was your partner's erection harder and stronger compared to now? Did he get an erection quickly during kissing, touching, or romantic moments?

After spending several years together, have you noticed any changes? For example, does he take longer to get hard, does his erection feel less firm, or does he sometimes lose it during sex? Does he ejaculate faster than before or sometimes have difficulty penetrating?

I'm curious to know whether these changes are common in long-term relationships or whether they could be related to stress, health, or other factors.

I'd really appreciate honest answers from people who have experienced this.

TL;DR: Couples who have been together for 5–6+ years, has your partner's erection quality, sexual desire, or stamina changed compared to the early days of your relationship?

I’m a victim of Sexual assault. Was staying silent the right thing to do?

• Upvotes

First of all, in order to prevent people from doxing me, I’m using my brothers account which we’ve wiped clean. So with that out the way..

I’m from South Africa. Many years ago, when I was barely a teenager, I was groomed and assaulted by someone my mother worked for. My mother and I were house cleaners for rich families. The 20 something year old Swedish man whose house we cleaned, would converse with me from time to time, so eventually we grew to know each other on friendly terms. Sparing the gory details, one day when he had gained my trust, he took advantage of me. I wanted to pretend it never happened, so I stayed silent, hoping it was just a bad dream. However, when my period didn’t come, I had to tell my mother what happened because I was not prepared for having a child at such a young age when I was still in middle school (I worked on weekends). The humiliation and shame I felt having to tell my mother what had happened, she never looked at me the same after that. My mother told me that we couldn’t report it to the police because it would have cost us our jobs and most likely the charges wouldn’t stick anyway.

For many years, that whole ordeal has felt like a grave injustice. I was angry then and I’m still angry now. Before then, I used to believe in the system, but after that, no more. I came to realize that if you have money, the same rules don’t apply to you. That realization has followed me for the rest of my life and made me extremely cynical and depressed.

Recently however I saw that someone else had posted a video about the same guy, calling him out for having what he did to them. You would think that I would be glad that he is finally being exposed for what he is, but for some reason I feel conflicted. I am so, so so so happy that people had the courage to speak out against him. But at the same time, I feel especially pathetic for not having so myself when I had the chance. Most of the women in the video about him, seem to have been raped after me. Maybe if I had spoke out at the time, I could have prevented him from harming all those women that came after. While I know that I’m not to blame for his actions, I can’t shake the feeling that my silence was complicity.

Please help me sop thinking like this, as it’s eating me up inside and I can’t stand it.
