It figures nailtiques had to axe the formaldehyde right as I was going into a couple months of training new employees in an area where I can't wear gloves (and thus can't wear polish). Someone here suggested this product, and I'll be damned if I haven't found my new holy grail.

If you know me by now, you'll know I am a creature of habit, and have clear "types". Gradients? Duh. The same formula in 1,000 colors? You bet I'm buying them all.  Put that shit together into a gradient? You know I can't resist that call. Cracked had a banger of a red magnetic topper we all know by now called "Scorchy" so when they came out with a full rainbow of others...my wallet was doomed.

A magnetic rainbow was the only thing I could think of when I ordered these a month ago, so when they finally showed up it was fuckin' on like Donkey Kong!

I started with a base of black, and then sponged the toppers on like a usual sponge gradient. It actually looked great like a shimmer gradient BUT the magic was yet to come! I then used DRK Magnetic Elixir (magentic elixirs are just the same solvents in lacquer, but at high concetrarions so it liberally rewets the polish on your nail giving the iron pigments freedom to move again) to rewet the sponged toppers and was able to magentize it. I did the velvet style with a horsehoe magnet. I am absolutely in love and could wear these FOREVER. I need to try tons more variations of this. Monique has no clue who I am, but THANK YOU for making a full rainbow set of these bitches!

I spent all day doing birthday/Halloween nails.

Finally perfecting my nail stamping. I also wanted to test out this Artie Mae GITD polish and i have to say its quite strong! This plate is from the PPUween month from Hit the Bottle and I just love the gothic gate designs. And you can see them through the glow!

Here the mani steps:

-Glisten and Glow base coat

-2 coats Artie Mae Safety First

-1 coat Hula Moon QDTC

-Stamping done with Mooncat Emo for Life

-1 coat Uberchic non smudging top coat

-1 coat Artie Mae glitter grabber

-1 coat Hula Moon QDTC

The last two top coats were done the next day, because the polish was still a bit matte.

I did way too much research and swatch comparisons to attempt opal nails. I didn't want to buy from multiple brands so I did what I could with ILNP. Jelly sandwich technique used. It was incredibly difficult to capture the end result on camera.

I think it turned out great imo!

Base coat vibrant scents double bond

1 coat SH nail hardener

1 coat ILNP coconut cream

1 coat ILNP encore

1 coat ILNP wonderland, attempted to keep it more dispersed

1 coat ILNP coconut cream, applied as thinly as possible

I get the fatigue but I still love how they look too much and when I have time I’ll still go for it.

I just love the shifts in the magnetic particle, the pink, purple, indigo, blue, teal, it’s all so mesmerizing and BKL does magnetics so well!

2 coats of BKL’s Just a Bite from September PPU over Nailtiques Formula 2, topped with Cuticula Limitless. Magnetized on lab spinner with horseshoe magnet for 1 minute each finger for the second coat and top coat.

I have been mesmerized by this bottle of Alive by Punkish Polish since it got here... It's so shifty and magical and depthful. I waved my magnet over it because the depth made me think I missed that it was a magnetic. This video doesn't even do it justice! I'll share swatch pics in comments because it won't let me do it here...

I think we all understand that most of us are here to have fun, show our personality and individually, and share our love of polish - that's all I was trying to do. I've used the font before and never received any feedback on it. Please know that I wouldn't intentionally do something that excluded a group of people here. I did a mani with Mooncat Bloodbender topped with Mooncat Moondust (last photo). After a few days I wanted to do some GITD Halloween ghost overlays.

I've never successfully done freehand nail art. Since I was expecting to fail, it occurred to me that maybe I should try the ghosts from Pac-Man. My freehand drawing is super shaky, but it turned out pretty cute! (I'll add a GITD photo in the comments once it gets dark enough. )
