Why even pay taxes when the government can't even protect your property and keep you safe.

It’s a damned if you do damned if you don’t.

If the police hand started using violence to stop this (because I’m sure asking would not work) it would only be worse PR and escalation

10

u/RogerRavvit88 4h ago

If the situation is damned if you do damned if you don’t, do it.

4

u/CAB_IV 3h ago

They should just get it over with.

If these people are so willing to dish out violence and destruction on innocent people, they should be willing to take it.

2

u/walseb 1h ago

They will just frame it as oppression, then get sympathy from the masses as dramatic videos of riot police is released, which forces the hands of the politicians to stop it, whether they are good or bad.

The only solution is for most people to actually care about what's true and false, and not just accept whatever comes out of some source and inject it into their simplistic worldview of oppressor and oppressed.

2

u/CowgoesQuack69 1h ago

Then actually oppress them. Then they won’t actually step out of line…

So you don’t go to jail for not paying taxes. It’s the freedom subscription plan

2

And the resources dedicated to jail you for non-compliance are vastly greater than those to protect private property.

Realistic answer: If the police force was designed to be big enough to control riots of that magnitude, you would pay a LOT more taxes.

Riots this big require the army, but the army is not allowed to be used against its own people as far as I know.

2

u/Zoomwafflez 2h ago

That's the rule in the US, although it's more of a suggestion at this point. France is allowed to deploy the military to help with police operations as far as I know, not sure what restrictions they might have on that.

There was this restaurant I used to go own my East Asian immigrants in the downtown of the city where I lived at the time that I loved and frequently went a lot.

I got trash during the BLM riots. Hardworking immigrants whose work and dedication got destroyed when they did nothing wrong.

Right. The BLM rioters did the same to my father-in-laws restaraunt in 2020. Dude is from Laos and his family escaped Vietnam. No rhyme or reason.

Mobs are good at mobbing, not reasoning

61

u/PoorMinorities 5h ago

Don't worry, reddit was there to defend the looting during the BLM riots as "who cares? stores are insured"

It was genuinely gross watching people defend people destroying someone else's livelihood over something that isn't even necessarily true.

19

u/Artix96 4h ago

Even worse. Saw subhumans defend lookers saying owners are white. Unmasked racism.

5

that's an invasion, not a few parasites..

1

u/dasaltefleisch 2h ago

3

u/Hydration__Nation 2h ago

Stop letting them in for starters, kick every single one with a criminal record out, set a mandatory one child policy (don’t like it there are 183 other countries to immigrate to), increase punishment for immigrants by a factor of 2/3/5x the normal rate. This should* deter basic crime. Establish super harsh laws for immigrants regarding rape, sexual assault, and trafficking. First time 20 years, next time 50 years. Bet your ass 40% are not risking two decades. But none of this will happen. Europe will keep degenerating and Europeans will come to Reddit shitting on America dreaming to come live there one day and escape the shit hole they inhabit where their neighbor wants them literally dead for not believing in their faith

In the words of Doug Stanhope discussing the Occupy Movement, if you got a problem with the banks, don't fuck up the parks, fuck up the banks.

Though there's also a second part where he discussed protesting intelligently doesn't mean throwing bricks through windows, but that seems beyond what these "protestors" are capable of.

5

u/BrilliantWest2050 4h ago

This is nothing to do with the government or protesting, they’re just thieves and looters taking advantage of the police being distracted

6

u/Wide-Candle3846 4h ago

That’s because most of these people find any excuse to do exactly this. None of these people are actually protesting anything they you found another situation where they could rob everyone and have certain people defend them.

The amount of people I’ve seen on Reddit who absolutely think they’re not doing anything wrong is staggering. These same people are in every post.

3

u/kind__person 4h ago

there's no issue with the government. you give them way too much credit

3

u/Big-Building-7923 3h ago

2

u/CouldntBAPoint2184 2h ago

The people don't even know who to fight. We will never win.

2

u/PerspectiveNew3375 2h ago

That would mean going to police stations and government buildings which is too much smoke for them

2

u/PraireGentleman 1h ago

It’s because we made it a habit to never criticize protesters. Any criticism of a protest meant you are automatically against the protesters’ cause. We made protesting into a participation trophy where what you accomplish matters less than showing up. Even when you’re literally just throwing soup on art because they were made with oil paints, there was some people legitimately defending that protest because of something that means nothing; “its for a good cause”, “at least they’re getting a conversation started”, “and “it’s more than most people do”.

If I went outside and screamed in the middle of my street for an hour, then when I got arrested said I was “giving a voice to silent people”, I’d have done as effective a protest as most modern “protesters”

It’s incredibly sad and frustrating to watch happen. Good intentions and a worthy cause overshadowed by a smaller group of people that use it as an opportunity to cause chaos.

u/Silver_Pen_2091 3h ago

Borders need to be controlled. Immigration is good and needed but must be limited to those who will assimilate into the culture and be productive members of society. There is not enough money to take of our citizens plus everyone else who wants to come for the benefits. Certainly, there can be some exceptions especially for asylum seekers, but exceptions are not the rule.

2

u/dasaltefleisch 2h ago

What do you propose be done with those who don’t assimilate?

18

u/PipeAlternative3266 5h ago

I do not know. So many young people are brainwashed into thinking that the mass immigration was a good thing. Those same people will also call me racist because I am saying this. The people will suffer (and they are, children are getting gang raped in england) while these immigrants are filling our governments with money. We are all screwed. This is coming to our country too.

8

u/autolockon 5h ago

If you stop to think about it for only a few seconds it’s obvious why mass immigration is bad for any established country. This has been true throughout all of time as far as human history goes, but anytime you mention it people call you racist to shut down discussion. It’s actually crazy how much people want to destroy their own homes.

u/Toasty27 4h ago

Define "mass" immigration

I hear so many conservatives say this bullshit, how people on the left somehow support "mass immigration"

No. People on the left support immigration. We support it because it strengthens the economy, and for refugees it's simply the morally right thing to do.

"Mass immigration" is a racist dog whistle intended to involve the idea that immigrants are somehow "invading" the country. And unfortunately, tons of people who are unaware of that still use the term without thinking.

2

u/Crazyjay1 3h ago

How many immigrants are being accepted exactly? Like, is there a quota, and a selection method? Do you know how that is being done?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Hot_Ad5094 2h ago

How is importing a bunch of people to live off of the government (your taxes) going to strengthen your economy ? , a lot of these people come over with no skill , no studies and some of them are even criminals , or their beliefs do not align up with yours, and they are not ready or willing to assimilate either , so how will that work ? It has nothing to do with racism or "the right thing to do " , the governments first priority should be to its own people, when they are all good ready and set , THEN can you start to think about helping others

3

u/Jdm783R29U3Cwp3d76R9 3h ago

You support it because you got tricked by billionaires. You have to compete for housing and jobs, this keeps normal people down, you're always replaceable, more people will be imported. You have to live with crime and imported problems. Meanwhile rich people are doing great. Not that long ago, anti-immigration was actually labour thing and something that ie Democrats in US cared about as it supported working class.

u/shoxicwaste 4h ago

Literally every video I've seen of rioters destroying small businesses and looting peoples livelihoods is always the same culprits.

Where I live in barcelona we have probelms with petty crime. I´ve been robbed in the street 4 times in 10 years living here, its always been Moroccans. Do I hate all Moroccans? No I don´t, I have good friends who are lovely people from Morocco but every single person living here knows there is a inherent problem specific to crime with morrocans.

Go check out the knife crime stats in London... and can you believe its not the white native british boys and girls doing it.

What about the rise in sexual assault, rape and harassment across all of European, suspiciously all in countries and cities that have adopted the mass uncontrolled immirgration policy.

And calling someone a russian bot to diminish their opinion is a really bad approach, it shuts down discourse and ultimately creates more division.

I hope every single grocery store, restaurant, and food market leaves these areas...I certainly would in their shoes. Then when they complain about not having access to basic needs you can simply show them videos of their neighbors actions "don't blame me, blame the ungrateful 'protester' next door".

3

u/YonkouTFT 5h ago

That would require an ability to take responsibility. I frequently visit an impoverished neighborhood who had all major grocery stores close and move out. Did people learn and become more civil? “Is it to me you’re bringing your demands?” Seriously, that’s what I wonder when people riot and take it out on others. Local stores near me got ransacked by rioters in 2020 during BLM, mom and pop shops who had nothing to do with anything. And not to bring race into it, but black owners had their places turned upside down during. Rioters are strictly opportunists and don’t give two shits about what they supposedly are protesting for or against.

2

u/Grundy420blazin 1h ago

Same shit happened here in Minnesota when the George Floyd riots were going on. So many black family business’s and others destroyed by rioters apparently “protesting” for the harm and death of a man that was indeed black, but in reality most of the rioters weren’t even protesters that were from the area. And they weren’t there for justice. They were there to destroy because the opportunity was there. It’s sad

The people just standing and recording. Makes it more bleak and dystopian. Like imagine you looted the store, then you record the owner crashing out and pouring their heart out, frustration and despair.

u/BlueKante 5h ago

Does insurance cover riots and looting?

1

1

u/DrAntonzz 5h ago

Lots of students there

1

u/okaaaaaaaaayyy 5h ago

The way people video each other these days instead of conversing or trying to help is so pathetic

1

u/Buttheadbrains 4h ago

They need some rooftop Koreans over there

1

u/JyuVioleBrown 4h ago

What in the literacy crisis is going on in the comments. You people are STUPID, stupid

1

u/Ok_Bet_2870 4h ago

Because you voted for this

1

u/Major-Check-1953 4h ago

Logic has nothing to do with this. Looting and destroying will do nothing to improve education. Some just want to commit violence.

1

u/forgottenkahz 4h ago

I know what he can do. Submit to allah, become a Muslim, tell the local mosque this and his store will be left alone. It’s that simple.

1

u/ScyD 4h ago

Liberal white women would say this is just another case of ‘necessary collateral damage’

1

u/Single_System_9951 4h ago

Almost as sad is the fact that ppl just stand around & silently film so damn much. Having a parasocial relationship w/ the world. It's sick.

1

u/TurquoiseBlue00 4h ago

From what I read and saw on the news, this was supposedly a peaceful protest. poor guy

1

u/JenniLightrunner 3h ago

that moment the riots are over and when they go to shop for food to survive everyhting is closed cuz it all got destroyed

1

u/Alexius_Psellos 3h ago

And I’m supposed to believe the lie that this is all about education?

2

u/Inevitable-Regret411 3h ago

Whenever you have social unrest, you'll have criminals taking advantage of it. There's going to be legitimate protesters going out because of their concerns about education, but also looters exploiting the situation mixed into the crowd. Don't confuse the two groups.

2

u/Significant-Duck7412 3h ago

Nepal did it without looting stores. Though they did burned the Government building

1

u/lkjdw 3h ago

Irrespective of the merits of any demonstration, it’s cause or what it’s hoping to achieve.

There is NEVER, any justification for looting, or other types of theft, criminal damage or violence.

That’s just thugs, criminals and opportunists, seizing an opportunity to commit crime and often, as in this case, creating innocent victims, who weren’t the cause of the demonstration, or part of it, just law abiding folk , who work for a living. Now that living is under threat, thanks to those scumbags.

The irony of it is, whatever the reason for the demonstration, any justification is lost on the powers that be, who’ll solely focus on all the crime committed, not the original grievance.

Let’s hope these scumbags are caught in the subsequent weeks, via video footage (CCTV), of their disgusting crimes.

*protesters

u/CaribousSayMoo 3h ago

Yes, a French store targeted by the "French".

1

u/Kam2Scuzzy 3h ago

This was done for the kids and the school system. They break stuff and loot stores because of affordability. If they can't have nice things. No one can.

1

u/AnotherPersonPerhaps 3h ago

Shit like this is going to kill their movement and make nobody want to take them seriously.

In fact it will probably cause people to go the other direction.

1

u/fallout_zombie777 3h ago

Blaming the lowest parts of society for their ills is the trick the rich use all the time.

1

u/advocatus-diabli 3h ago

Every time this happens you empower the right dramatically. And the right welcomes you to it. Its hard they to go through such pain before understanding what is at stake

1

u/EconomistWaste2786 3h ago

That’s so sad

1

u/vinnypeepee__ 3h ago

And the rich are still getting richer while we sit here and point fingers at each other. If resource hoarders didn't exist none of this would be happening.

1

u/ChocolateaterX 3h ago

Soros must be so happy

1

u/Beneficial-Kiwi-5988 3h ago

People are too scared to swing up

1

u/breezeetree 3h ago

Maybe put down the fucking cameras and help the guy clean up. 😡

1

u/Novel-Pen8811 3h ago

The harsh truth of protest they have to be random.. they have to be chaos.. a war has targets. A protest is a mirror help up to society and forces the power that be to fix where it went wrong.. if you just attack the govt they’ll fortify, rebuild and protect.. but if it happens everywhere they have no choice to address the issue.. and sadly people will loose their livelihood, job. Etc. it a sucky situation( and of course you have the opportunist)

Another racist cesspool I have to ignore, I guess. If anybody else is wondering why this is being shown to you so close to midterms, the answer to to make you feel more justified in your views of qualitative judgements based on race, and make it more likely for you to vote for conservative politicians that reinforce that feeling. Don't fall for it.

Those fucking “peaceful protesters” making demands of their government while making their fellow countrymen pay. Sounds like the Black Lives Matter movement
