Far too many take issues with their government and take it out on their fellow citizens. If you are going to target a building at least pick your targets right.

Yea remember how the french used to riot? It wasn't like this, it's almost like something's changed.

u/Trips-Over-Tail 5h ago

They used to drag the rich and powerful into the street and chop their heads off.

u/Planet-Funeralopolis 3h ago

80 - 85 % of the people executed were commoners.

u/Evil_Sharkey 2h ago

Too many people forget what followed the executions of royalty and nobles. The Reign of Terror wasn’t an improvement

It's because it's not about the billionaire, or the millionaire. It's about anyone who they deem to be any enemy.

Almost like violent revolution usually begets similarly violent despots and rulers.

2

u/abracadammmbra 1h ago

Ironically, a lot of the origional revolutionaries were beheaded as well. "The Revolution devours her children"

u/Caerllen 1h ago

Thats because Revolutionaries are, not surprisingly, detrimental to the stability of any government. Especially the ones they just overthrown because guess what, they have first hand experience of doing so.

Its not surprising when Hitler did it to his SA buddies, Stalin to his comrades, and even Mao to his CCP buddies.

I would say its surprising if they didnt do it.

u/Gutcrunch 1h ago

They also did it to their own revolutionary leaders. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximilien_Robespierre

I think it's illegal to notice.

5

u/WatcherOfTheWay 5h ago

Yep, straight to jail, not for riots, rape or assualt, but for noticing

Yeah thats totally happening to you. It's such a complicated situation too. The way they have to cuff you up mid circle jerk -just a difficult situation for both the police and you and your brothers jacking each other off in here..the true heroes stunning and brave

So weird to be racist.  Downvote if im right to assume you are.

You guys see the non violent protests with immigrants and no comments crying about them.

And dont reply "buh buh im racist for just pointing it out!?!"

I bet you're a bot. 3d old account

Here, I'm years old. They're both being openly racist and it's ridiculous

-2

u/AvailableTreacle6866 5h ago edited 4h ago

You caught me! I gave you a cake recipe that included a gallon of Racists blood.. but reddit deleted it.

Anyways its not cute to be racists roleplaying as Nationalists.

Oh no

Nobody said white people were superior. It's always lefties who conflate mild pushback with "white supremacy".

It was you idiots who told everyone to judge by skin color. And we tried to warn you how racist that is, and what it could imply in other situations. But since you've labeled everyone 'racist' who tried to point this out to people like you, all your allies have dried up. Now real racism can run free, and honestly I'm almost glad. You're the boy who cried wolf. Maybe you have to watch all the sheep get torn apart to actually learn your lesson.

u/AvailableTreacle6866 4h ago

Stay mad man. I'll stay not racist

Yeah thats kinda wrong. Many cultures are superior to others. Western culture is far superior to Arabic or african culture as shown by the horrible human rights atrocities and horrible treatment of women in those places.

>Western culture is far superior to Arabic or african culture as shown by the horrible human rights atrocities and horrible treatment of women in those places

Yeah, Western countries have never done anything wrong. We certainly didn't have a whole slave trade that we fought a war over. Why not just lump every single Arabic and African culture together and say they all treat women and other people horribly. White people would never commit crimes like the Holocaust

u/SpiritfireSparks 4h ago edited 3h ago

Lovely shadowboxing against a point never made. The west has done many bad things in the past, it is still superior.

The Arabic slave trade was much harsher, crueler, and went on for much longer than the atlantic slave trade, and there are still many literal slaves in Africa and the arab world.

In africa and the arab world it is still nor uncommon to have honor killings, use child soldiers, not see marital rape as illegal, and sell children.

You are clearly uneducated .

Is the west superior or less cruel? What are they superior in?

Hahahaha women are treated terribly everywhere, and I think it's fucking hilarious you act like you care just because they do it slightly differentlynin the country's filled with people, you don't like. I'm willing to bet if you're in the states, you vote g o p.

I'm sticking with my view that the best is superior since at the very least it actually considers marital rape as an actual crime and sees a family attempting to kill their own daughter for 'dishonoring' them to be something vile.

I also think its quite sad that people either cant understand or pretend to not understand a difference in severity.

It’s almost like when you import the third world… you become the third world. I thought importing millions of economic migrants would just automatically create more jobs and prosperity for everyone? Raise all ships? Or was it sink all ships? Good thing Ai is now here and people
Don’t have to work anymore. Maybe France is just getting ahead of the ai curve. They are making sure the economy is full of terminally unemployed people before ai is deployed and brings about universal basic income.

There have been multiple credible reports of plain clothesed police inciting violence and looting. Don't be so quick to judge without doing necessary research. Only the oligarchs stand to benefit from the division

1

u/ToxicTroublemaker2 5h ago

I'd love to read these reports to get an understanding of the situation

u/Tall-Progress-4367 5h ago

Where? I’d be curious to see how such a phenomenon works.

1

u/Pirateship906 4h ago

No there haven't.

0

u/Mocsab 4h ago

It’s probably because most of the people rioting aren’t really French.

0

u/Boring-Philosophy-46 3h ago edited 3h ago

This is exactly how the French used to riot all the way back to the 1960s. The determinant here has always been that it's France's least educated and economically vulnerable (and farmers, who are land rich but cash poor) who riot as is tradition going back to the 18th century (the 19th century was full of riots too, it never stopped).

Importing a ton of people from your foreign colonies to do the minimum wage jobs (Europe recruited a lot of migrant workers in the 60s) results in the lower class consisting mostly of people of immigrant descent. Studies are showing by the 3rd generation if you take someone of immigrant descent and compare them to a native French person whose parents had the same socioeconomic attainment and area, there's virtually no difference in that kid's socioeconomic attainment from the native French kid.

However, because their grandparents were minimum wage, their parents were likely to be lower class too, and they are likely too because of their parents.

Congratulations, where as you would always have had a lower class, and riots associated with it, the lowest class ends up made heavily up of people with migrant roots this way.

Also, a  third of France is people with migrant roots, and plenty are succesful too.

They didn't loot, they didn't attack people, they didn't destroy important buildings.

The french have always done riots but not like this.

1

u/Boring-Philosophy-46 2h ago

(Attempt 2, comment seems to have vanished) That must be why the 18th, 19th and 20th century are full of violent riots and food riots (no looting? You sure about that?) here and the earliest listed is a 1229 student protest. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_incidents_of_civil_unrest_in_France

What there was, was a brief intermezzo like between 1968 (or WW2 really) and 1979 which was the quickest growth of the standard of living period that France had ever seen. Of course people were kind of mellow.

And one last one:

https://www.rfi.fr/en/france/20240205-farmers-protests-in-france-a-long-and-sometimes-deadly-history

"the fight became an impassioned assertion of regional identity and veered into what has been called “wine terrorism”: blockading ports and train lines, setting cargo alight, chopping down telephone poles.

The conflict culminated in a fatal confrontation with riot police in March 1976, when winegrowers brandishing hunting rifles gathered in the village of Montredon-des-Corbières; one farmer and one officer were shot and killed, while 17 people were hospitalised."
