If you stop to think about it for only a few seconds itâs obvious why mass immigration is bad for any established country. This has been true throughout all of time as far as human history goes, but anytime you mention it people call you racist to shut down discussion. No. People on the left support immigration. We support it because it strengthens the economy, and for refugees it's simply the morally right thing to do.
"Mass immigration" is a racist dog whistle intended to involve the idea that immigrants are somehow "invading" the country. And unfortunately, tons of people who are unaware of that still use the term without thinking.
How is importing a bunch of people to live off of the government (your taxes) going to strengthen your economy ? , a lot of these people come over with no skill , no studies and some of them are even criminals , or their beliefs do not align up with yours, and they are not ready or willing to assimilate either , so how will that work ?
It has nothing to do with racism or "the right thing to do " , the governments first priority should be to its own people, when they are all good ready and set , THEN can you start to think about helping others
There is an international treaty for refugees that was signed after ww2. Before and during ww2, many jews fleeing prosecution in nazi Germany were turned back by countries and when the genocide became public there was a never again sentiment.Â
As of that treaty we cannot just turn all refugees back, we have to offer profection.Â
However Europe has made its own migration pact now aiming to discourage economic migrants from trying to come. They are not refugees but they often try to claim so.Â
Additionally there is a large amount of migration within Europe that, by European treaties, countries cannot impede, just like California can't ban, like, Ohians from moving to California. That is by far the largest stream of migration.Â
So like 90% of migration are people we cannot stop. Then there is also the marriage migration and work and student visa migration, it's minor in size after subtracting those that go back as well. We can impede that a bit.Â
You support it because you got tricked by billionaires. You have to compete for housing and jobs, this keeps normal people down, you're always replaceable, more people will be imported. You have to live with crime and imported problems. Meanwhile rich people are doing great. Not that long ago, anti-immigration was actually labour thing and something that ie Democrats in US cared about as it supported working class.
Naw im not competing with immigrants for housing or jobs. Im competing with private equity. One company being allowed to purchase thousands of residential homes in certain counties or regions is far more damaging than the person cutting grass locally having a place for themselves and their family to live. Tbh we did have mass immigration in the 40s, 50s and 60s. The colonies freed themselves and there was a huge influx of people from those who wanted to come back or needed to. And,
 we enticed all the migrant workers to come over. Then they got citizenship and stayed and got stuck in poverty traps. I agree with you on the rest though.Â
Canada has a massive issue with immigration right now. It has put strain on things like housing, public services, entry level job availability, wage growth, etc. it has gotten to the point that even a lot of liberals are saying enough is enough. It is not just the number of immigrants coming in either, but the quality has dropped significantly as well. They come in on shoddy student visas acquired through diploma mills.
If you have to import immigrants en masse to support the economy, then you have not addressed the issues that created the need for them in the first place. You have just created a system that requires indefinite and ever increasing levels of immigration to sustain itself, until one day it will collapse in on itself.
Hand waving these issues as being nothing more than âracist dog whistlesâ is unproductive and ignorant. And just for the record, I am not white.

The more frustrating part is that there are people that come from these mass migration influxes, and a lot of them do not assimilate with the culture. They demand to bring their own culture over and set up their own little enclave within the culture that they're supposed to be assimilating into. And thus causes strife between the people that are already there and the community that they're immigrating into. And then as soon as the two different cultures collide, they have the audacity to call you racist. It's so tiring and it needs to stop.
