The funniest part was people live tweeting how great it was and they the saw fire and chaos outside their window a bit later and they were like “guys I swear to god knock it off! You’re in the wrong neighborhood!”
The one video where the guys are recording out of their window and cheering and the rioters send a brick through their window changed their tune real fast.
My opinion is that rioting and destroying property of innocent people is wrong and is no way justifiable. If your issue is the government, target the government, don't target your fellow neighbors that may be suffering just as much as you are. And making it worse because you destroyed everything they built and everything they had.
Now explain to me why it's grounded and justifiable to destroy other people's property and their lives.
Amen brother, and how many years of prison would be appropriate for someone who encouraged a large riot and even used power and leverage to prevent relevant entities from stopping it?
You're getting baited. The next reply is gonna point towards Trump with the assumption that you voted for him, and that Trump incited violence. If you did vote for him then the framing is that you're a hypocrite, and if you didn't vote you're complicit. I'm not sure what the negative framing might be if you voted for kamala but I'm sure there will be more bait questions to follow that one. And this is coming from someone who hates Trump. Reddit is a cesspool and having a human conversation is impossible, everything is bait to try to feel good about winning an argument
Yeah this was a sad attempt at trapping me into defending MAGA. He assumed just because I didn't agree with the looting and rioting during the BLM protests therefore I must be a republican that agreed with Jan 6. I'm a democrat, I just haven't deluded myself into thinking destroying people's property is ever justifiable.
Because the blame is always put on protestors when it should be directed right back at the government that created the environment where citizens felt the need to protest.
If government did their job, smaller/no protests would result. if no protests, no chaos for looters to take advantage of. They have the means and the money to do it, just lack the motivation.
Edit: 3 replies in less than 2 min. The bot farms are working overtime today. Fuck the clankers, hold the government accountable for their own ineptitude.
Way to enable the looters.
If you’re going to send a message by protesting, at least have a responsible protest. If your protest devolves into a riot, you’re discrediting your chosen cause while putting the lives and livelihoods of innocent people at risk.
Where did I enable looters? You’re putting the blame on protestors. Protestors ≠ looter. One excessive their rights, the other took advantage of chaos that the government allowed so that they can scapegoat.
You're literally sitting here defending the destruction of property of a store owner by rioters because the government is at fault.
Lol? It doesn't matter if the government is at fault, destruction of property is never necessary especially that of an innocent neighbor, except you think it is.
Imagine creating an argument that you can't even follow yourself and then bringing up reading comprehension.
You're defending rioting and looting because you're literally saying people feel it's necessary, for one. Two, you're shifting the entire blame off the protestors because "government could have fixed it". So you're sitting here defending the protestors by absolving them of any personal agency. That's textbook rationalization and justification of their actions. Doesn't matter if you didn't sit here an explicitly say it, this entire attempt to shift blame and act like people don't have a choice is you endorsing it.
I didn’t defend rioting. I depended protesting (You state this yourself) Those are not the same.
You even state that the government can fix it and don’t. Why do you think that is? Why do you think they allow this chaos to happen? Youre already here defending a government that actively wants to divide you and me.
Don't pretend like looting is necessary. Protesting might be but the pieces of shit that just start breaking things and looting stores do it just because they feel like they can get away with it
I’m stating that if the government did their job and provided the socioeconomic environment to meet basic needs of all people (which they could do 10 times over with ease) we would have less need for protest, leading to less riots and looting.
I know that is very hard to comprehend when you have your head so far up the ass of the government like you do
The counter is these people are acting like animals and regardless of your 'issue' there's never a time to destroy other people's livelihoods and property because you have a problem.
"I'm angry so I'm gonna lash out. I'm not gonna break my own shit just everyone else's. Hey look MA! I'm protesting!"
Except society didn't riot, a small percentage of idiots did. Those idiots also set back the movement. Prior to the 2020 riots, public sentiment was that George Floyd was murdered and that police response to protests was unjustified, even among Republicans. After the riots, support quickly started to diminish.
Yeah society were sitting around kinda ignoring the fact that the social contract had been broken by the state. They stopped ignoring it when the riots started.
Then they quickly arrested every cop responsible for breaking the social contract and sent them to prison.

Save your breath, bro.. trying to reason with mongrels is futile.
