The people who actually want change are not the ones thrashing his store

It’s incredibly sad and frustrating to watch happen. Good intentions and a worthy cause overshadowed by a smaller group of people that use it as an opportunity to cause chaos.
And yes, some of it is instigated by the police force itself to spin a narrative, but that doesn’t account for all of it.

People keep saying the police instigated it but where is the source of this information?

That article is from 12 June 2022, the peak of BLM protests were between May-August 2020, and “near pride event” lmaooo June is pride month, that was not a BLM protest

It's still happening and has always been. People take advantage of protests. People who don't give a shit either way just see a way to cause violence and steal shit.

There are the desperate, violent people who don't care and the calculated groups who want to make protests look bad.

The world is absolutely fucked. We need to target the right people

You don’t know that. The good protestors definitely outnumbered the bad, but didn’t stop them.

I know because this happens everywhere where protests become big and conflict arises between protesters and police.

Well maybe the protestors should stop enabling rioters then.

I don't think you know how protests work man

I do. I’m the 👮‍♂️ stopping you from making our cities even worse.

That's the thing. You are biased as fuck. Your training teaches you to see civilians as threats first before seeing the humanity in them and empathize with them. I work with both police agents and social workers and the way they see the same problems is drastically different. Let's say homelessness for example. They police I know talk about my city's homeless people as being dangerous and mentally troubled while the social workers I've met describe them as unfortunate people who need help and who are sometimes mentally unwell or who sometimes have an addiction problem.

The same thing is applicable for protests. You people are trained to see protests as "civil unrest" and as a "threat" that can easily become violent and dangerous instead of seeing it as a right that everyone possess when we are unhappy about our government. And from my personal experience, the police WERE always the ones instigating the violence and the media were still always on the police side and they would never cover what the police did to the protestors but they wouldn't hesitate showing images everywhere of random people looting and policemen that got hurt at those protests

When there’s 10 of us and 5000 of you and our guys already have shrapnel in their legs from homemade explosives. Yeah, you are all a threat

And we deal with the homeless daily. Idc that they’re addicts. They ALL have knives and scissors and torches.

And when we are out with our families during a peaceful protest and you guys start throwing flash grenades and tear gas grenades at us and permanently injuring our children and blowing teenager's hands off, shooting rubber bullets point black at people's heads leaving them blind in one eye, beating teenager's so bad that you leave them with a cracked skull and broken jaw then you are not protecting the civilians. You are there to protect the regime and injure or kill anyone who opposes it.

I deal with homeless people on a daily basis too and it's a very small minority of them who are actually dangerous and want to hurt people. Most of them are just trying not to die of starvation or from the cold during the winter.

Strange how you’re blaming the actions of a few on all of us! Almost like that mentality goes both ways !

How do they enable rioters? Every protest I’ve been to (from the USA) that has had rioters the protesters are yelling at them to stop or trying to stop them. From my experience rioters follow behind the protesters and loot once the protesters move through. The only enabling I’ve seen is just because the police are usually focused at the front of the marches or the outskirts of the permitted areas, where the rioters aren’t at. Bad people will exploit anyway they can.

There are tons of videos on social media of french policemen randomly charging at peaceful protestors just standing or even at random tourists just trying to go somewhere. There are videos of policemen encircling a protest and telling them to leave while gassing them all while preventing them to leave because of their encirclement of the protest. There are also videos of policemen dressed as rioters and instigating these riots by breaking windows. There's videos of french policemen trying to run protestors over with their vehicles. There's videos of firemen protesting and getting fired point blank by rubber bullets.

There's tons of example on social media of french police initiating the violence but your algorithm probably don't show them to you if you don't speak french.

You’re a giant crowd. You consume all the police resources. Police are already understaffed EVERYWHERE.

If you’re going to be the cause, the enabling factor for these rioters, you should be able to handle them. Protests have leaders. Lead. And stop your worst

Dude there are tons of video on social media of the french police instigating the violence in the first place. By randomly changing at protestors who were just standing and chanting. By throwing team gas grenades at an orchestra that was playing at la Place de la RĂŠpublique, By dressing as civilians and breaking store Windows and the list goes on and on
