This is lunacy, right?
An Islamic terrorist who belonged to Al-Qaeda and laterĀ IsisĀ has been spotted shopping atĀ King Charlesā localĀ Co-op.
Mohammed Yaseen was free to walk the streets nearĀ Windsor CastleĀ after he was allowed to stay in Britain on human rights grounds.
Yaseen was part of the Al Qaeda group that beheaded Briton Ken Bigley before joining a unit in Isis that carried out stonings, beheadings and mass executions.
He was released from prison last week after serving just six months of a two-year sentence for illegally entering the country on a small boat, following a near five-year prison term inĀ GermanyĀ for his Isis membership.
TheĀ Foreign OfficeĀ has raised concerns he could face āmistreatmentā if he were returned to Iraq because of his terrorist past, theĀ Mail on SundayĀ reports.
Experts have said Yaseen could cost the taxpayer £85,000 as the Home Office pays for his stay in accomodation and his food allowance.
Chris Philp, Shadow Home Secretary, said: āWe are paying through the nose to feed, clothe and house individuals who pose a clear threat. If Andy Burnham took this seriously, he would deport this man at once.ā
A court in Germany heard in 2020 that Yaseen was involved in bomb attacks that killed US troops in Iraq.
He also served as a security guard for Isis, including during at least two mass executions where the victims included children.
Yaseen was intercepted last December by Border Force. He gave officials a false name before routine biometric checks revealed his true identity.
At his trial at Winchester Crown Court, prosecutor Steven Molloy said Yaseen had a ādeeper and lengthy involvement in terrorism and Islamic extremist ideologyā.
It is understood that Yaseen was cleared to walk around town with an ankle tag and observe a 6pm to 6am curfew.
However these restrictions did not stop him going to Windsor Great Park or to the castle.
Yaseen grew up in western Iraq and became a member of Islamic State of Iraq, a franchise of Al Qaeda, aged just 16.

Doesn't really confirm much but the only source that isn't instagram or GBNews, bet they are LOVING this.
The only weird thing, is that the link to the press release has since been deleted on the website it leads to.
It's a very unclear accusation, it also states he is back in prison so dunno why these melts even care š

Unfortunately, I've come to learn that if I click something and it points to Metro, Express, Daily Mail, GB News, and a few others, the "journalism" behind it can be completely disregarded. There's rarely any truth, and everything written gives hand-wavy "some sources"/"anonymous sources" to allow them to make shit up.
Which is a really sad and sorry state of affairs.
It's not press, it's a clickbait propaganda machine.

If someone is supposed to be deported but canāt because their plane broke down, weād keep them in immigration detention while the plane is getting repaired. If someone is supposed to be deported but canāt because the country is unsafe, we should keep them in immigration detention until it becomes safe. This works in places like Australia that do it.
52
u/crackedsmilecheek 19h ago
Speaking as an Australian, thatās not how they do it. If a person canāt be removed to the home country because itās unsafe and thereās no likely prospect of that changing, they have to be released from detention

Australia still has offshore processing on Nauru and Christmas Island for immigration detention Basically we give Nauru lots of money for them to give those deemed to be refugees visas for Nauru that explicitly wonāt ever become citizenship pathways in the future. From there they can access some pathways to go to the US or New Zealand, or just back to their original home country or any of the safe countries around them.
Primary thing is if you illegally try to cross the border to get into Australia and youāre over the age of 18, not only will you never be able to get permanent residency, you will actually be effectively barred from ever visiting Australia in the future even with a tourist visa

3
u/No-Inspector8315 19h ago
Largely because the UK is hamstrung by the ECHR and the fact that once someone gets onto British soil and claims asylum, itās infinitely harder to find ways to get them off British soil.
The key is to find an intermediary nation or territory that is willing to host detention centres for a long time, having done some quick research obviously the Rwanda solution was floated as one but the crude example I could think of is the Isle of Man.
What Australia observed after utilising the navy (I mean why else have a world class navy like the UK with billions of dollars of tech if youāre not going to fight a war anytime soon?) and instituting the boat turn backs was a dramatic drop in initial boat numbers, and with further policies like encouraging Malaysian and Indonesian sailors to sell boats to the government instead of to people smugglers, the illegal crossings dropped to virtually zero. Then the left wing government got in charge, went āWe fixed the problem! Letās roll it back to save cashā, and the number of boats EXPLODED again. Luckily the next right wing government wasnāt dumb and instituted the same policy and after thirteen years of success itās not really going to go away again.
The UK government is thinking of boat crossings as a crime like prostitution, wherein there will always exist a demand and always exist a supply of people willing to service that demand. They actually need to think about it as an enterprise like drugs. Alongside drug taking is a risk factor, a drug that is low risk, high demand and high supply is instant cash for criminals. By the UK arresting these gang leaders, all theyāre doing is swapping around who gets rich, because the customer base still wants the product that has very little risk to it.
Turn back the boats and use offshore detention suddenly the risk goes super high, this ādrugā could result in you wasting three years of your life trying to get asylum to a nation that will always reject you or giving up and accepting the wasted money, time and lack of opportunities in the future to try somewhere else. If I gave you a joint and said āHey, $100 for this, thereās a 95% chance itās oregano, and btw itās a magic oregano that if you smoke you wonāt ever be able to smoke weed again. But thereās a 5% chance itās weed!ā Would you actually buy that drug off me?
Then when the demand has sunk because of the high risk, thereās no more customers to sell this supply to, meaning criminals turn back to more profitable industries like drug dealing and prostitution, which means if there are any customers who want this product they either have to try and find someone who is still offering it or give it a go themselves and that risk goes up to 99.99%.

I could not care less if their country is unsafe. They are unsafe. They broke the contract by committing crimes, that should automatically remove any responsibility on our part. Without this, it sends the message that they can do what they want and we'll continue to fund their lifestyle.
If their country was really that scary, they'd think twice.
It's time we sent them back. I don't care what happens to them, I care what happens to my countries citizens.

I'm not sure that helps with the costs much though. It'd still probably cost a lot to keep him in immigration detention (although maybe not the quoted £85,000 since you aren't paying for accommodation).
Also, do we even have room in the immigration detention? The whole "Housing migrants in hotels" thing happened precisely because we don't have the capacity to keep them detained so they have to be moved elsewhere.
The only way to solve this is to somehow build larger facilities that can handle the massive amount of people arriving at this country.

u/Odd_Bus618 18h ago
First off King Charles doesn't live in Windsor. Unlike the previous Queen he doesn't care for being in the Heathrow flight path or for the close proximity of the main high street.
Secondly there are 2 co-ops far closer to the castle than this one.Ā
The bail hostel is in Old Windsor and it's the Old Windsor co-op this scum bag was shopping in.Ā The local MP has lost his shit over it and Yaseen has been recalled to prison for non disclosed breach of license.
Hopefully this publicity will get the bail hostel closed. As a resident of Old Windsor there has been a long campaign to close it as from time to time they house some very unpleasant characters in there. And you often find tags that have been cut off discarded in the Toby Carvery car park next door.Ā
There is no excuse for him being released early though. Now he's been recalled he will serve another large chunk of his sentence at least.Ā
7
u/Tfx77 17h ago
Where do you propose to put the bail hostel?
24
2
u/Odd_Bus618 11h ago
Totally valid question. Old Windsor is a village of 5,000 people. We have one bus that takes about an hour to get to a Slough or 45 mins to Heathrow which runs roughly every 45 mins. Windsor Town is about a 50 minute walk. There is nothing here to support rehabilitation. There is a Co op and some independent restaurants.
We have a first school and a middle school and 2 nurseries so quite a lot of young kids who play on the recreation ground that's 2 mins from the bail hostle.
So no employment options in the village. Unreliable public transport to the next proper transport hub in Slough. Leaving nothing for hostal residents to do other than hang around the park watching young kids or shopping at the Co op buying vodka. They do get occasional drug and alcohol tests but effectively they are kicked out at 10am and don't need to be back in until 7pm so enough time to get drunk or stoned and quite often to re offend.Ā
So yeah there are better options. Maybe an actual town which has more options for them to properly rehabilitate.Ā

The people youāre referring to have had their visas expired or failed to meet other criteria (lost their job etc). So, while I (and anyone with a brain) agree completely that we are not nearly hard enough IN GENERAL in UK law when it comes to violent crime and past behaviours, and also that obviously, this man being allowed to remain in the UK is a clear violation of all common sense, this is not a deliberate attempt to keep a terrorist in the country (which does not benefit a governing body) and keep out hard workers. And the statistics overwhelmingly support this.
The guy in the picture is currently in prison after being recalled for a parole breach and has been in and out of UK and German prisons for the last 10 years. Furthermore, all his crimes were committed overseas but both western countries made a point of prosecuting him for whatever else they could to keep him away from the public.
Finally, the laws preventing him from being deported back, however flawed they may be, have been there for a long time and were obviously not invented for this purpose.

He isn't being paid by the state, and he isn't allowed to walk freely through the UK. He has not been an ISIS member since leaving after 1 year in 2014.

So shopping at your local COOP isn't being allowed to walk freely? And where do you think he gets the money to shop? Who pays for his accomodation? Health care? etc.
14
u/Successful-Yak-5537 19h ago
The article is out of date, as well as incendiary and misleading.
He has since been recalled to prison. When he was 'free', he was on license for entering this country illegally, after being sentenced to two years in prison. His license conditions included a strict curfew and an electronic tag, and any breach would result in him immediately being returned to prison, which is exactly what has happened.
Getting a food allowance and health care isn't the same thing as being paid by the state. Do you think prisoners and those on license should be starved to death, or denied medical treatment? At what point are you going to consider the damage you are doing to your own country in pursuit of spiting its degenerates?
6
u/Optimistic-01 19h ago
I appreciate the info you posted but at a high level do you not have concerns about people who come in the country even as fully legitimate refugees but absolutely hate/detest this country?
I feel perhaps if you have good evidence the person hated/hates this country, they shouldn't be given the same level of freedom and right to stay long term (particular stuff like right to family life which often overrides the right of nations to deport later on). Precisely what that means is difficult but interested in knowing your thoughts on that.
3
u/Successful-Yak-5537 18h ago
I think it's an understandable anxiety, but I also think it originates in fear and xenophobia. Plenty of white Britons hate this country - not least exactly the kinds of right-wingers baying for this man's blood.
Meanwhile I don't see any evidence that there is widespread hatred of this country by the people who risk death and who spend what are fortunes to them trying to get here in the first place
It goes without saying that I think we do need a security service and other organisations monitoring and neutralising threats, whether from islamic terrorists or white supremacists. There are among other things strong arguments that we better defend ourselves by being able to monitor actual threats on our own soil, where we have full jurisdiction and can better control the state of play
I don't think the solutions to these sorts of dangers and concerns are best found in abandoning the rules-based order and human rights regimes, however unpopular or inexpedient they may sometimes be

Something can only be so misleading. You're saying he's not been a terrorist since 2014 like he's reformed. After his two prison sentences, one of them for irredeemable actions - you're telling us he's been jailed again for breaking his conditions, but you're still ok with him being here? Not to mention that he was like 4 when Ken Bigley was beheaded, even though this makes it seem like he was part of the group when it happened.

He should be deported. Whatever then happens to him is due to his own barbaric choices. Why can't the government see that allowing these people to stay is wrong and the vast majority are against it. They can't be blind, so there has to be an agenda.Ā

You can't forcefully deport someone, the country you want to deport him to has to accept him...

You can do whatever you like, including dropping islamists out of helicopters without parachutes from an altitude of 1,000m. Bonus points if you can splat the dog on its mothers doorstep.

How is stating a fact defending someone? I said he can't be deported if the country you want to deport him to doesn't want him. You're desperate for attention, and your pub jokes don't hit the same online :/

I canāt find anything about this guy anywhere on the internet apart from Facebook, Instagram GB News etc, you know those places. I like to fact-check before I jump on the deport them all bandwagon. Iāll keep looking but does anyone have a link about what heās supposedly done and please not the Daily Mail either.
Thank you.

u/horse_course 19h ago
Itās a bit fucking weird. No mentions of this guy in the media, just a bunch of articles from the pro-reform places quoting each other, and a surprisingly high number of reddit accounts getting shirty about immigration 1-2 hours ago, so at 5am.
No mention of this guy in the German media either. Their anti-immigrant parties and talking heads should be all over this
Like I said⦠very fucking strange š¤

Thanks Iāll take the AOL link, at the end it says heās been taken back to prison for breaching terms. Pitchforks away lads the law is being applied in this case. He canāt be returned to Iraq because he will be put to death so other than just āsend him back to be killedā what can we do with him. Heās here now and has the protection of our laws. If people donāt like the laws of the country they live in then I suggest they are the ones that should leave.
Just my 2p worth.
4
u/Suitable-Season-4847 19h ago
Are you saying laws can't be changed? In that case, shall we just stop bothering with elections etc? Isn't the whole point of democracy that people are able to raise objections and concerns, and the government can seek to update our legislation?
But you think people should just leave if they don't like the law?

u/AccomplishedAct5364 18h ago
Thatās what democracy used to be.
Now itās more like āvote for the party the media says is the best betā.
You can vote for less migrants til the cows come home, but if every party wants more - we get more regardless.

This monster cut innocent peoples heads off on camera slowly while they were still conscious. This guy shouldnāt be deported. He should be in jail waiting to be buried under it.

u/mookaji1 12h ago
This country is too tolerant. He should be deported. His safety should not be our concern. What should concern us is national security and the security of innocent people in this country. Deport him . Heās old enough to accept the consequences of his actions and if he is executed heāll go straight to heaven . A martyr to their cause. Islam is a death cult imo , I condemn to him what he condemned to others.

My friend (who is a legal professional immigrant) worked for AstraZeneca for 2 years, and when she went through redundancy, she received a Curtailment Letter from the Home Office stating that she had 60 days to leave the country or obtain another visa. This country is evil with legal decent immigrants who have no access to public funds, pay 20-40% tax, pay IHS fees in advance,.... but with illegal immigrants arriving by boat they're so flexible and generous
2
u/OlafPetersen 18h ago
This is lunacy, right?
Not really, no. We don't sentence people to death. If he was facing death if deported back to Iraq, we shouldn't deport him there. That's not all that controversial, unpleasant though it may be when it means some genuinely awful person like this gets to avoid deportation.
If he's a danger, he should be monitored and have a curfew ... he is and he does. If he's committed crimes he should serve time for them ... he did and he has. If he's done anything he's not been charged and convicted for, he should be ... and there's no suggestion that's not already been fully explored. If he's an extremist of thought, that's not a criminal offence, nor should it be - we don't punish thought crime.

He's served his time and he's obviously reformed now, just because someone done a few mass executions it doesn't make them a bad person. But right wingers refuse to let someone change, their intolerance will re-radicalise him, and they'll only have themselves to blame.

However, he was taken back to prison shortly after the sighting due to breaching good behaviour regulations.
It isn't insane that someone is not convicted in each new jurisdiction they enter of the same crimes they have already been convicted of elsewhere (Germany)
It isn't insane that human rights are extended to even and especially the most disreputable citizens. If we start stripping rights to awful people they cease to be rights for everyone else as well
