This is lunacy, right?

Post image

An Islamic terrorist who belonged to Al-Qaeda and laterĀ IsisĀ has been spotted shopping atĀ King Charles’ localĀ Co-op.

Mohammed Yaseen was free to walk the streets nearĀ Windsor CastleĀ after he was allowed to stay in Britain on human rights grounds.

Yaseen was part of the Al Qaeda group that beheaded Briton Ken Bigley before joining a unit in Isis that carried out stonings, beheadings and mass executions.

He was released from prison last week after serving just six months of a two-year sentence for illegally entering the country on a small boat, following a near five-year prison term inĀ GermanyĀ for his Isis membership.

TheĀ Foreign OfficeĀ has raised concerns he could face ā€˜mistreatment’ if he were returned to Iraq because of his terrorist past, theĀ Mail on SundayĀ reports.

Experts have said Yaseen could cost the taxpayer £85,000 as the Home Office pays for his stay in accomodation and his food allowance.

Chris Philp, Shadow Home Secretary, said: ā€˜We are paying through the nose to feed, clothe and house individuals who pose a clear threat. If Andy Burnham took this seriously, he would deport this man at once.’

A court in Germany heard in 2020 that Yaseen was involved in bomb attacks that killed US troops in Iraq.

He also served as a security guard for Isis, including during at least two mass executions where the victims included children.

Yaseen was intercepted last December by Border Force. He gave officials a false name before routine biometric checks revealed his true identity.

At his trial at Winchester Crown Court, prosecutor Steven Molloy said Yaseen had a ā€˜deeper and lengthy involvement in terrorism and Islamic extremist ideology’.

It is understood that Yaseen was cleared to walk around town with an ankle tag and observe a 6pm to 6am curfew.

However these restrictions did not stop him going to Windsor Great Park or to the castle.

Yaseen grew up in western Iraq and became a member of Islamic State of Iraq, a franchise of Al Qaeda, aged just 16.

I can’t find anything about this guy anywhere on the internet apart from Facebook, Instagram GB News etc, you know those places. I like to fact-check before I jump on the deport them all bandwagon. I’ll keep looking but does anyone have a link about what he’s supposedly done and please not the Daily Mail either.

Thank you.

It’s a bit fucking weird. No mentions of this guy in the media, just a bunch of articles from the pro-reform places quoting each other, and a surprisingly high number of reddit accounts getting shirty about immigration 1-2 hours ago, so at 5am.

No mention of this guy in the German media either. Their anti-immigrant parties and talking heads should be all over this…?

Like I said… very fucking strange šŸ¤”

u/Cool_Elephant_4459 20h ago

It appears he's he may be being scapegoated as a tool for the Right Wing to use as a hammer to beat people over the head with.

"Stop the boats and keep people like this out"

Not saying he hasn't done really bad stuff but give me the evidence please.

TheI irony as we all know is if we were still in the EU this guy would have been straight back to France and would have been their problem but now they can get here under our asylum system and we are the end of the line, our hands are tied and we can do nothing with them other than grant asylum and in the case of this guy put them in prison, but probably not until they've committed an offence here.

I wonder how many people would change their Brexit vote knowing that to be true?

3

u/horse_course 19h ago

Exactly. I notice btw we’re getting quiet downvotes simply for asking for the facts.

Wonder also how many people’s brexit vote would be different if they knew it’d lead to so much more immigration from the Indian subcontinent šŸ˜‚

3

u/Cool_Elephant_4459 19h ago

Even the people that voted for Brexit say we got the wrong flavour of Brexit as an excuse because they refuse to accept the whole thing was a terrible decision.

It was undoubtedly the worst thing the UK did this century but here we are.

1

u/AccomplishedAct5364 19h ago

We got the Tory Brexit, which unsurprisingly ended with more migrants

Migrants are THE tool of the modern conservative (and Labour since they’re also neoliberals).

Conserve wealth in those that have it, and drive competition in those that don’t - classic conservatism.

1

u/Cool_Elephant_4459 19h ago

The Tories definitely allowed migration to go unchecked despite lying to us they's control it, 1 million a year it its peak I believe.

Labour, due to massive political pressure are doing everything they can to reduce the numbers and they are, because they know if they don't they'll be out in a couple of years. The media aren't telling us though, because they either initially wanted a Reform government, or lately seem to be throwing everything at getting the Conservatives back into power.

Lord help us!

1

u/AccomplishedAct5364 19h ago

See, ā€œdoing everything they can to reduce the numbersā€ is a bit of a stretch.

Shabana Mahmoud has had to end the one in one out policy after it successfully removed 4% of arrivals in 2 years from pressure within Labour.

They’ll do as little as possible to give the illusion that they’re different.

Mass migration literally began in 1997, it’s a Labour and conservative joint effort to inflate the housing market

1

u/midnight7030 19h ago

I agree with you hiring someone from India cost them a lot less they are now working everywhere from HS2, groundworkers, IT, customer service. It will get much worse in a couple more years and graduates will not be able to find any jobs. They need to reverse this policy before it's too late

1

u/Host_Humble 19h ago

You literally got a international center for counterterrorism link and a german court ruling how is that not enough to confirm that he is actually a terrorist and not just some scapegoat

0

u/Danmoz81 18h ago

It’s a bit fucking weird. No mentions of this guy in the media,

Tell ya what's a bit fucking weird fella, claiming there are no mentions of this guy in the media.

Here you go, just one example

Same here and thanks. I always try to apply a bit of thought before jumping to conclusions even before my first coffee. šŸ˜„

1

u/Danmoz81 18h ago

If you applied some of that critical thought you'd see the person you are replying to is full of shit. It wasn't hard to find this guy being reported by somewhere that wasn't the usual far right shit rags;

https://www.basingstokegazette.co.uk/news/26255837.islamic-state-terrorist-housed-basingstoke-hotel-jailed/

1

Critical thought = ā€œmainstream media is hiding info that might incite more social friction therefore it can’t be realā€

Further down the thread is someone who posted like 5 different news articles on the topic.

It’s not critical thought if you claim to be unable to find something and then someone else finds 5 examples of the thing your ā€œcriticalā€ thinking couldn’t even find one of.

1

u/FireHammer09 18h ago

These people just lie about this stuff, it's so obvious nowadays.

BS like "I can't find aNyThInG on this guy." Yes you can, easily. It's purposeful and done to protect the reputation of a particular religious group and its practitioners among the wider public.

1

u/AccomplishedAct5364 18h ago

Yep, patting each other on the back for being terrible at researching something impartially. Ridiculous behaviour haha

Based on Reddit posts?

No - they’re being vilified for being terrorists.

I thought you were a critical thinker not a bad faith Redditor

You actually defended them based on a Reddit post because you couldn’t research any further

Oh now the back pedal?

It’s not applying critical thinking if you just reject any news story you disagree with fundamentally as fake news.

That’s like calling MAGA critical thinkers for rejecting any mention of Trump in the Epstein files.

ā€œWell Fox News hasn’t reported on itā€

You didn’t say they were critically thinking in regards to that. You said it because they were doubting the credibility on news they didn’t like because their favourite tabloids hadn’t reported on something.

Critical thinking there would be recognising that their own bias highlights why their trusted news sources buried the story

2

u/Danmoz81 18h ago

2

u/FireHammer09 18h ago

Of course they're lying lol

1

u/PrimaryImpossible476 7h ago

It’s hardly the global press, if someone doesn’t immediately run to the Basingstoke gazette you can’t blame them for asking

2

u/Suitable-Season-4847 20h ago

I just typed his name in to Google, clicked on the news tab and there are countless sources. Not sure what you mean?

2

u/Cool_Elephant_4459 20h ago

Please share, I found lots too but as I said Facebook doesn’t count as I don’t consider it a real news site.

u/Suitable-Season-4847 20h ago

6

u/Cool_Elephant_4459 20h ago

Thanks I’ll take the AOL link, at the end it says he’s been taken back to prison for breaching terms. Pitchforks away lads the law is being applied in this case. He can’t be returned to Iraq because he will be put to death so other than just ā€œsend him back to be killedā€ what can we do with him. He’s here now and has the protection of our laws. If people don’t like the laws of the country they live in then I suggest they are the ones that should leave.

Just my 2p worth.

4

u/Suitable-Season-4847 20h ago

Are you saying laws can't be changed? In that case, shall we just stop bothering with elections etc? Isn't the whole point of democracy that people are able to raise objections and concerns, and the government can seek to update our legislation?

But you think people should just leave if they don't like the law?

2

u/AccomplishedAct5364 19h ago

That’s what democracy used to be.

Now it’s more like ā€œvote for the party the media says is the best betā€.

You can vote for less migrants til the cows come home, but if every party wants more - we get more regardless.

1

u/Cool_Elephant_4459 18h ago

Reform promises to cut numbers and if on balance that's an individual's priority then they should vote for Reform.

I wouldn't because of everything else the party stands for but I accept we live in a democracy.

1

u/Cool_Elephant_4459 18h ago

Laws can be changed and are frequently amended. What I'm saying is we follow the law as it stands today and not break it because we think the law is wrong.

We have the right to protest what we disagree with and in a democracy that's the route to take.

People should definitely leave if they feel the need to dress in black and cover their faces and terrorise the public, yes and I stand by that comment.

Vote for whatever political parties promises align with your values, please always vote though and I'll do the same.

2

u/Xenonite_Fox 18h ago

I like you more after this comment

1

u/Host_Humble 19h ago

In eighteen months he will be free in the UK with zero license conditions, because our system gives zero consideration to the danger he continues to pose, if you are not willing to send him back because he would be executed shouldn't at least he be persecuted here for the crimes he would be executef for in iraq?

1

u/tvcnational 20h ago

I do think a good percentage of people would be fine with him being sent back even if he was at risk of being killed. Why is it our responsibility?

1

u/Cool_Elephant_4459 19h ago

Because he's here now and has claimed asylum so can't be returned to a country that we know would execute him.

If Germany could have sent him back they would have too but they follow the same asylum laws.

1

u/Most-Cloud-9199 19h ago

Why do we keep excepting failed asylum seekers from the EU ? Why does our system say yes

1

u/Cool_Elephant_4459 19h ago

Because they get on a boat in France and make it either all the way here or get picked up in the sea.

Once they are here that's the way the law works. Asylum will either be granted or they'll be returned.

Sadly the worst of the worst will have to be allowed to stay if their home country can be proven to not give basic human rights to their citizens.

I don't disagree that this situation is a bit shit but its where we are.

1

u/Most-Cloud-9199 19h ago

Yes, but if the EU has said no, why is our system saying yes. Everyone who arrives by boat has been told no by the EU,by what I imagine is a fairly similar system to our own. Does it not worry you ?

u/AccomplishedAct5364 19h ago

ECHR

1

u/Most-Cloud-9199 19h ago

It’s the same for the EU, why are they saying no and we are saying yes. It makes no sense for us to be accepting anyone who arrives by boat or lorry before that. A country has already refused them and it’s a country that has the same system as ours

→ More replies

1

u/phobox360 19h ago

It’s our responsibility because he is in this country. Everybody, even those we don’t like, are subject to the law in this country and that includes laws designed to stop you being killed. You might not like the guy and fwiw I don’t either, but he has the same rights as you and I and that’s exactly how it should be.

Digging a bit deeper than tabloids into this story, he was out on remand and is back in jail after breaching the terms. That’s the law working as it should.

1

u/Winterlichkeit Non-Brit 19h ago

Telling people who are born and raised in the country to leave because they don’t like the laws is not going to work lmao

Why would the people pissed off about this leave the country, when they could just vote people in who would change the law?

1

u/AccomplishedAct5364 19h ago

That’s the problem. We’ve voted for the party who promises to fix migration the hardest for the last 15 years and received over 10 million new migrants in that time.

People are beginning to see the con

0

u/TheMassaB 19h ago

I liked you until this comment.

1

u/Cool_Elephant_4459 19h ago

Which part of it, the whole thing? I do stand by what I wrote.

Perhaps the bit about not liking the law of the country was a bit strong but I honestly believe that if more people followed the law this would be a nicer country to live in. Obviously that applies to everyone no matter their background.

That doesn't mean some laws should be revised and they are but they are the current law until changed.

2

u/tvcnational 20h ago

None of those is as reputable as I'd like honestly. Even an official site to read the case or something would be fine but the spectator link is read didn't include that either.

This is his listing on the International Centre for Counter terrorism

I think I also found the court ruling from his German conviction, but I can't read German.

Both of those can show clear propaganda if a news article leans left or right it's politically motivated to set the narrative.

1

u/CodBeneficial4054 19h ago

Any publication can show propoganda fella . Any written piece can be propoganda based on the writers views

1

u/AccomplishedAct5364 19h ago

I declare this comment - propaganda!

0

u/PowerfulAd7951 20h ago

None are reputable as you define then from a leftist prospective.

1

u/Cool_Elephant_4459 20h ago

As I said the AOL link is probably the closest to middle ground opinion. At the end of the story it says he's been returned to prison for breaching terms.

If we were still in the EU that would be enough to return him to France but as we are not he's now our problem.

The way the law works is he has to commit a crime before he can be jailed and I hope he's under very close supervision and perhaps has a tag.

Sadly we have to wait until he either plans or commits acts or terror before jailing him for a very long time.

1

u/midnight7030 19h ago

He is still in prison I can't find anything of him being released

u/Cool_Elephant_4459 20h ago

That’s this story, sorry I need more. If state news channels aren’t covering it perhaps it’s not true? Should we not be a bit more diligent before grabbing our pitchforks at dawn?

Don’t get me wrong if he has done something to warrant it then I’ll join the crowd shouting for his head.

Ah yes.. metro.co.uk... that government mandated news outlet...
