This is lunacy, right?

Post image

An Islamic terrorist who belonged to Al-Qaeda and laterĀ IsisĀ has been spotted shopping atĀ King Charles’ localĀ Co-op.

Mohammed Yaseen was free to walk the streets nearĀ Windsor CastleĀ after he was allowed to stay in Britain on human rights grounds.

Yaseen was part of the Al Qaeda group that beheaded Briton Ken Bigley before joining a unit in Isis that carried out stonings, beheadings and mass executions.

He was released from prison last week after serving just six months of a two-year sentence for illegally entering the country on a small boat, following a near five-year prison term inĀ GermanyĀ for his Isis membership.

TheĀ Foreign OfficeĀ has raised concerns he could face ā€˜mistreatment’ if he were returned to Iraq because of his terrorist past, theĀ Mail on SundayĀ reports.

Experts have said Yaseen could cost the taxpayer £85,000 as the Home Office pays for his stay in accomodation and his food allowance.

Chris Philp, Shadow Home Secretary, said: ā€˜We are paying through the nose to feed, clothe and house individuals who pose a clear threat. If Andy Burnham took this seriously, he would deport this man at once.’

A court in Germany heard in 2020 that Yaseen was involved in bomb attacks that killed US troops in Iraq.

He also served as a security guard for Isis, including during at least two mass executions where the victims included children.

Yaseen was intercepted last December by Border Force. He gave officials a false name before routine biometric checks revealed his true identity.

At his trial at Winchester Crown Court, prosecutor Steven Molloy said Yaseen had a ā€˜deeper and lengthy involvement in terrorism and Islamic extremist ideology’.

It is understood that Yaseen was cleared to walk around town with an ankle tag and observe a 6pm to 6am curfew.

However these restrictions did not stop him going to Windsor Great Park or to the castle.

Yaseen grew up in western Iraq and became a member of Islamic State of Iraq, a franchise of Al Qaeda, aged just 16.

Every single one of the links used in the post body point to no evidence of this accusation at all. It's for lazy people who will skim read and think the OP is citing legit sources when they all point to irrelevant crap from Metro online.

Only thing I could find is this-

https://interlinkagesdatabase.icct.nl/case/Mohammed%20Rafea%20Yaseen%20Y.

Doesn't really confirm much but the only source that isn't instagram or GBNews, bet they are LOVING this.

The only weird thing, is that the link to the press release has since been deleted on the website it leads to.

It's a very unclear accusation, it also states he is back in prison so dunno why these melts even care šŸ˜‚

I meant finding sources that are actually credible, not everyone relies on stories they read online, some of us want better evidence than the Basingstoke Gazette šŸ˜‚

You must have forgotten about all the Pulitzer Prizes that ā€œSpiked onlineā€ have received

And the Basingstoke Gazette has been running since 1878, they got a Golden Goose award in 1902, they are my most reliable source

Guys, I don't want to impose an unwelcome space-time continuum, which you undoubtedly feel is somehow fascistic, but there are two groups of stories:

  1. When he initially comes to the United Kingdom, he's sentenced to 2 years in prison for illegally entering the UK and providing false documentation.
  2. The current story is that he is out on bail and living in Windsor.

There is a 6-month gap between them, during which he was serving at His Majesty's pleasure, and that explains the gap between the dates in the stories. He is now on bail and living in Windsor. Whether this is a good thing or bad thing, I have really no view.

Maybe you should read the whole article...

- The Source

Righto, so it's gone from "the only thing I could find is..." to "no,no, I meant credible sources...".

I suspect Shabana Mahmood herself could knock on your door and tell you in person "he's been convicted of being part of a terrorist group" and that still wouldn't be credible to you

'The only thing' meaning the only credible source. Considering the guy just posted a load of links to magazines.

The source I posted literally tells you he was charged with acts of terrorism, where did I say otherwise?

Sorry, what is it you are disputing then?

That this whole story is wishy washy, why do none of the articles include and sources? And if they do, it's just quoted 'The Source'. The guy is back in prison, but a story like this could lead people on a witch-hunt, and we don't need any more of them.

All the headlines are 'Terrorist spotted in Basingstoke', 'Terrorist who arrived on small boat spotted in Co-op', despite him already being sentenced in Germany. If Connor McGregor was spotted in Manchester, the headline wouldn't read 'Rapist on the streets of Manchester' would it? That's my gripe.

And if they do, it's just quoted 'The Source'.

Are you new to journalism? Journalists don't reveal their sources. Are you expecting them to name whatever civil servant has given them this information?

All the headlines are 'Terrorist spotted in Basingstoke',

If Connor McGregor was spotted in Manchester, the headline wouldn't read 'Rapist on the streets of Manchester' would it? That's my gripe.

So if I am understanding this correctly, your gripe is that the headline is "Terrorist spotted in Basingstoke" and what? You feel that is unfairly maligning the man? You would prefer it if the headline was "Mohammed Yasser* spotted in Basingstoke"?

*Forgotten his name

If you're calling someone a terrorist in your headline, I would hope you would have some better sources, shit, even I found his case file with a quick google search, it's called lazy journalism, and it's far too common these days.

If he was an active terrorist, i'd understand, if the police were actively looking for him for terror related charges, i'd understand. But that's not the case, he lied on his asylum application, the most the headline should read is 'Migrant on bail for lying on asylum form breaks bail conditions', but that doesn't look good does it? It's selective, uninformative, lazy journalism.

I think being convicted in Germany for membership of ISIS is proof enough of him being a Terrorist.

They would trust those exact sources if it was a story that they supported.
