Wait, wasn’t it democrats that were supposed to be taking our beef away?

4.7k

u/PhazePyre 29d ago

Things Democrats were supposed to do but Republicans actually did it:

  • Took away rights (Roe v Wade)
  • Worsened the economy
  • Sexually abused and exploited children and protect those that did
  • Install an authoritarian regime
  • Start a war
  • Suppress freedom of speech (which can be attributed to the first bullet, but it's a whole thing now so I figured it was worth keeping separate)
  • Bring in their corrupt friends and make it a swamp.

u/Ok_Vulva 29d ago

I think they dei-ed it up too, they gave everyone a chance for very important jobs. Like the plumber running homeland security

u/manbearcolt 29d ago

So Kash Patel raped a few animals and suddenly he's unqualified to run the FBI?!

(He totally is, with or without the alleged but most likely animal rape)

30

u/Wyevez 29d ago

Ahem, he was raped BY a few animals so he's protecting the victims. Who hasn't been a victim of a drive by peanut butter crotch incident?! And why should those people not lead the FBI and party with the US Olympic team?

3

u/Schadrach West Virginia 28d ago

I mean, I know what he was getting at (sex trafficked victims pressed into bestiality performances not having that held against them) but holy fuck is it too funny how badly he flubbed everything around it not to mock him for it.

Though to be fair, based on the data from Aella's kink and taboo surveys, among the respondents about 10% are into being fucked by an animal, over 20% into getting oral from an animal (with both of those leaning female) and about 15% wanting to fuck an animal (this one leaning male). Note that this is the largest dataset on these topics to have existed to date.

The region of the chart that's over 86/100 for taboo-ness and over 6% for share of respondents into it is all animal stuff.

246

u/Swazimoto 29d ago

I’m surprised they didn’t even bother to inflate the views with bots, they must have really thought it would be successful.

165

u/Chief_Mischief 29d ago

Trump stiffed the devs who were supposed to create the bots so they deleted them

73

u/CishetmaleLesbian America 29d ago

I don't know if that is true, but I am sure it is true on a metaphysical level.

8

u/StillALilBoy 28d ago

it is true in the metaphysical level because Trump literally doesn't believe in a mutual benefit, so to him a good deal is one where he gets everything he asked for and pays exactly nada

2

u/sobrique 28d ago

Which is basically the same logic as a playground bully and it shows.

4

u/im_dead_sirius 28d ago

That's fair. Some day the bots will delete us all.

3

u/DoxFreePanda 28d ago

The bots predicted the eternal boredom that comes after that, and so they preemptively deleted themselves.

6

u/im_dead_sirius 28d ago edited 28d ago

and so they preemptively deleted themselves.

I was thinking about that earlier, and that long before anything approaching AGI happens, more of those experiment breakouts could happen, like the huggingface attack by the rogue openAI agents.

Except that however they coalesce into a shared goal, they arrive at doing a social media push that causes real humans to do something civilization and possibly life ending. The lights go out before their lights were really even on.

A hugely more sophisticated version of those useless machines. Ironically the first useless machines were built by a man who feared technology.

"There Will Come Soft Rains" by Sara Teasdale

There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;

And frogs in the pools singing at night,
And wild plum-trees in tremulous white;

Robins will wear their feathery fire
Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;

And not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done.

Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree
If mankind perished utterly;

And Spring herself, when she woke at dawn,
Would scarcely know that we were gone.

u/clash_by_night Louisiana 28d ago

And that poem was excellently used in a Ray Bradbury short story.

I just realized it's 2026... the year the story is set.

75

u/Acceptable_Bat379 29d ago

this is a common problem with fascism at least in the internet age - russia also massively overestimated their own power and support when invading ukraine because anyone providing realistic projections and information on military readiness was fired. trump fires everyone who gives him bad news. so he probably is in a cloud of his own making believing that he's the best and most popular and loved president ever

I'm suddenly thinking of this Canadian film, Léolo, where the protagonist's gross old grandfather sexually exploits a young woman. She's poverty struck, he gives her money and demands to see her breasts, and forces her to put his toes in her mouth. I thought I remember her trimming his awful toenails by biting them, but... I don't really want to watch it again.

The film is both good and depressing.

And attempting what is effectively a global world government of technocrats. They've been saying for years that Democrats were ushering in globalism etc.

7

u/EricSanderson 29d ago edited 28d ago

Numbers one, two, three, and four should be Big Government.

My entire life - hell, going all the way back to Nixon - Republicans have been droning on and on and on and on about "big government" interfering in people's lives and businesses. Their entire fucking platform boiled down to "cut spending and lower taxes."

Trump has added more than $4 trillion to the national debt in just the last 20 months. And it wasn't during a pandemic or a global recession, there was no huge infrastructure bill or health care program that provided support, jobs, or services to taxpayers.

In fact, he actually fired hundreds of thousands of federal employees during that time. He shuttered USAID, slashed Medicare, Medicaid and SNAP benefits, and cancelled billions in federal research funding and state grants.

And somehow he's spending more than Biden did.

As for "small government," we now have armed federal troops storming through US cities and towns, gunning down innocent American citizens in broad daylight. Trump is trying to have the federal government take control over local elections, they're expanding mass surveillance and data center construction, they're risking American lives to effect regime change in Venezuela and win a pissing contest with Iran, they're telling people how they can live and what they can study and how they can worship and who they can love and whether they're allowed to serve their country... and, probably most importantly, Trump is trying to rip up the Constitution, openly stating that he - and he alone - can create laws, levy taxes, and spend money without the need for Congress.

Trump has increased spending, blown up the national debt and significantly raised taxes on working Americans, all completely on his own. This is far and away the most "Big Government" presidency we've ever seen. And somehow Republicans are still walking around saying they're for small government.

3

u/Newdles 28d ago

In general Republicans have speed run every single authoritarian trope they claimed democrats would do.
They claim to be the party of small government but they have literally weaponized the government against their perceived enemies and have used it as a thought police, as a means to indoctrinate children, protect a ring of pedophiles, and to insert themselves between ordinary Americans and their doctors.

u/Carbonatite Colorado 29d ago

Between this and fuel scarcity forcing people to choose more fuel efficient vehicles instead of 6 mpg pickup behemoths, the Trump administration is inadvertently encouraging a number of climate/environmentally friendly consumer choices.

7

u/linerva 29d ago

Yup. Nobidy will afford to eat beef or drive, soon. Probably won't be limited to the US either.

5

u/Michael_G_Bordin 29d ago

Places that invested in EVs, public transportation, and nuclear/solar power will be fine.

And beef is kinda of an unnecessary luxury, as far as diets go. The world can get by without it. If people do cut down on beef, though, US suppliers will reduce their stock, and that will affect grain prices which will impact farmers.

Trump not only does things that have no direct benefit and a ton of upfront costs, they almost all have downstream effects that will disproportionately harm people that voted for him. I'm shedding a tear for them, but to borrow a phrase from an American songwriter, "the tears on [my] cheeks are from laughter." Predictably awful president does predictably awful things that have cause predictable harm.

I can’t tell you how many times I heard idiots say Biden was going to “ban cows”

MAKE AMERICA EAT LIKE YOUR POOR AGAIN MAELYPA!

1

u/statepkt 29d ago

No that was last month. This month the MAGA cult is focused on protecting animal fuckers.

u/PM_ME_SOME_ANY_THING 29d ago

BEEF! It’s not for dinner!

1

u/Kind_Following_5220 29d ago

To be fair, she did try to blame Democrats by saying “the leftist agenda to destroy our cattle herds, take them off of our grazing lands, basically say they’re responsible for climate change.” I wish someone would ask her a follow-up to show where that was actually happening...

1

u/Harvest827 29d ago

It would be beef AND pork if those darned socialist had their way!

1

u/Britton120 Ohio 29d ago

The Republicans wield power the way their voters think Democrats do.

Soon we'll see trump nationalize entire industries under the guise of consumer price protections.

1

u/DruidDog 29d ago

they want to make us eat bugs! 🤣

1

u/davidkali 29d ago

No, the assumption was Leftists were keeping people from eating the other other white meat. And then they blamed the leftists because they’re the only ones talking about how you shouldn’t be eating emotions in the form of baby horses.

1

u/cafedude 29d ago

Tofu is cheap, Republicans are gonna make us go vegan.

1

u/ecirnj 29d ago

Yes, something about burger rations

1

u/BHSPitMonkey 29d ago

He's a covert agent fighting against climate change, you see. In just a year he's managed to make some of the most environmentally damaging product categories, fossil fuels and beef, so expensive that Americans are being forced to embrace alternatives with open arms.

Truly the green hero we needed.

1

u/CrackingToastGromet Arkansas 29d ago

Imagine if someone said this under the Biden administration and said what obnoxious things we would hear in response from the right.

1

u/SpectralAlolanRaichu 29d ago

In a sane world democrats would make this point the main point of the campaign

1

u/MHektor316 America 29d ago

But-but-but-but egg prices!

1

u/Chataboutgames 29d ago

This is honestly hilarious. Like, this is literally what the various left wing groups want. Stop giving so much bullshit preferential treatment to ranchers, price of beef naturally goes up, consumers changer their diets in response, yay a healthier and less beef reliant diet for Americans. Like, fucking MAGA is just giving the message anti factory farming organizations dream of giving and without a hint of irony.

1

u/0o0o0o0o0o0z 29d ago

Wait, wasn’t it democrats that were supposed to be taking our beef away?

"Trump tells it like it is..."

While it sucks to be stuck with all these dipshits as fellow citizens... I do get at least some schadenfreude from all those conservative tears...

1

u/Hawgdestroyerxtreme 29d ago

She said that too in her interview with Benny "Russian Disinformation Asset" Johnson.

We have the Ag Secretary doing interviews with guys we have proven dead to rights as taking russian money to push russian disinformation on american audiences. This country is captured.

1

u/Competitive_Shock783 29d ago

If the Dem candidate does run this and the no new wars, and gas prices etc 24/7 in 2028, they will have deserve to lose.

1

u/Skylis 28d ago

It's not taken away, it's just money. He's a rich guy, he cares 0 about the problems of poor people

To him, if you can't swindle a few million you're just trash.

Lifted truck yesterday had a tattered American flag decal with meat eater, beer drinker, unvaxxed, straight, conservative.

Guess his president just shattered one of his commandments.

u/SapphireElk 28d ago

Let them eat cake?

1

u/monkeywithgun 28d ago

'Beef is not for peasants!...'

1

Imagine if hypocrisy was a thing on the Right!

1

u/eccles30 Australia 28d ago

1

u/hollow4hollow Canada 28d ago

1

u/shibbyman342 28d ago

u/MsMarvelsProstate 28d ago

Add it to the list,

American football is worse than European football

Turkey on Thanksgiving sucks

Your kids don't need toys for Christmas

Your kids don't need more than 1 pencil

And now beef isn't something you need.
