I’m surprised they didn’t even bother to inflate the views with bots, they must have really thought it would be successful.

Trump stiffed the devs who were supposed to create the bots so they deleted them

I don't know if that is true, but I am sure it is true on a metaphysical level.

it is true in the metaphysical level because Trump literally doesn't believe in a mutual benefit, so to him a good deal is one where he gets everything he asked for and pays exactly nada

Which is basically the same logic as a playground bully and it shows.

That's fair. Some day the bots will delete us all.

The bots predicted the eternal boredom that comes after that, and so they preemptively deleted themselves.

I was thinking about that earlier, and that long before anything approaching AGI happens, more of those experiment breakouts could happen, like the huggingface attack by the rogue openAI agents.

Except that however they coalesce into a shared goal, they arrive at doing a social media push that causes real humans to do something civilization and possibly life ending. The lights go out before their lights were really even on.

A hugely more sophisticated version of those useless machines. Ironically the first useless machines were built by a man who feared technology.

"There Will Come Soft Rains" by Sara Teasdale

There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;

And frogs in the pools singing at night,
And wild plum-trees in tremulous white;

Robins will wear their feathery fire
Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;

And not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done.

Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree
If mankind perished utterly;

And Spring herself, when she woke at dawn,
Would scarcely know that we were gone.

And that poem was excellently used in a Ray Bradbury short story.

I just realized it's 2026... the year the story is set.
