Currently getting radiation and I woke up one day and my beard looked like that. Lol I was PISSED but then I just shaved the other side. God it was a funny ass morning
I’m so unobservant I didn’t even realize. It’s even worse than it seems because even with this screen shot it took me like 20 seconds to figure out what your questions were. I was looking at his eyes, eyebrow, hair, the sign in the back. Damn
I had to do this a couple of years ago. My children were being absolute gremlins and would not let me finish shaving. And then we were going to be late to school, so I just did school drop-off half-shaved.
Exactly. That one was almost word for word what the Asian guy said earlier in the video that it made me think the whole thing was AI. Now seeing the half beard… I don’t know what to think
I did that for April fools one time but I have a much more defined beard. Spent all day standing profile at work (chef) and then switching when they'd look away.
I had a friend tell me she was gonna get a Monster while we were standing in like at Wal-Mart once. I decided to randomly tell her no, she can't have one. She plays along and says "you never let me have anything!" Some lady who was standing behind us hands her 5 dollars and tells her she can have whatever she wants and gives me the dirtiest look. Lol.
Yeah. "Hey Hun, I really want this thing but I understand if I can't right now..." She handles the budgets so I just generally confirm if frivolous spending fits the budget. Rarely is a no. Sometimes is a "wait". If she thinks it's really a waste or big purchase she tells me to think about it a little bit then let her know if she should fit it into the budget.
Married happily 15 years. It's a system that works for us.
I think my husband would do the same playing along! Be like "no damnit you already got your good meal for the week!" Or some shit lmao im laughing my ass off at these right now
That's what my dad does lmao. Ever since I was a kid I've always asked "Is it okay if I get [whatever food here]?" and he's always just immediately said "No". I've always known it means "obviously yes" but I still can't stop my overly people-pleasing compulsion to ask.
Used to work with someone who couldn't eat potatoes, apparently it's called a nightshade allergy, which if you're not into botany is a really confusing allergy. Fortunately it's a rare allergy, because how is the same allergy stopping you from eating potato, tomato, and bananas?
We work food and beverage industry too, I'm so glad her allergy isn't one of the big 14 because I swear it would take me longer to learn that one than all the others combined.

I once had a girlfriend that did this to me but not in a funny way, or I didn't think so lol. If she was recording like this it'd have been kinda funny. She insisted that I order for her because she didn't want to talk to the waitress. We were at a fast casual like bbq-ish type of place and she wanted a salad. Anyway I ordered for her and she interrupted and said she wanted to get fries. I was like "?????"
My wife knows that if she did this to me that I would say, “Absolutely not, she will have the house salad, with the vinaigrette dressing, no ranch for you. Absolutely do not bring her any fries under any circumstances. I am sorry, she knows better than to ask for fries.”
It's good that it leaked out onto Reddit tbh, now when that girlfriend (that I don't have) tries pulling this prank on me I can just flip it on her by saying no with a super serious deadpan delivery.
This is actually kind of a self own because it undermines a common narrative but they’re too engrossed in using their partners for internet clout to notice.
lol when I wrestled in high school during the off-season our coach would often take us to like a wing place or a burger place after a tournament so there’s like seven of us with our coach in a restaurant and it’s off-season so none of us are in matching clothes and we had this one guy on our team who was very dark skinned while all the rest of us and the coach were white and we’d be lined up at the counter and occasionally he’d just throw something out there like, “Can I eat today like my white brothers, Papa? I did my best? 🥺”
That guy was hilarious 😂 he was always doing shit like that.
Isnt it a bit bad to act like your boyfriend is abusive infront of wait staff? Like the server would get the impression "this woman isnt allowed to eat certain stuff cause her man says so" and then view the man as scum?
adding the option "that sounds like a bad idea, think a about the bathroom incident just an hour ago. i dont have the cash on me to get you another pair of pants"
Many couples out there don’t live in perpetual fear of internet judgement and know each other well enough to know how they can joke around with each other. And the wait staff is probably aware enough to know that the woman with the phone out and recording their boyfriend’s reaction is just kidding.
No. It’s a joke. If you want to see women be the butt of the joke, watch the videos where a woman orders dessert and her boyfriend/husband then says he doesn’t want anything.
That’s why it’s posted here. It’s a prank. But kind of a messed up one. They are messing with their boyfriends. That’s the assumption they are hoping the waitstaff will have. I still think it’s pretty funny.
I didn’t notice it at first, so I went back and watched the whole thing again, and I was laughing my ass off expecting every single guy that starts the shot in profile to bee the one with the half shaved face.
In college we had 2 pledges a semester that were half and half pledges. One had to shave one side of his body, the other had to shave the other half, and they couldn’t cut any hair on the non shaved half all semester. It was hilarious
Had my wife pull a prank on me in front of her mom once. She had hit herself on the kitchen bar and had a bruise days ago and we went to her mom’s house. Her mom asked her what happened to you?
She said “he hit me” and without blinking I said “yea she was asking for it”
Her mom shot me a look and she turned to her mom immediately and said jk I ran into our bar.
Sometimes just going with the joke makes it better
In the future, you could double down after “yea she was asking for it” and be like: "I'm not really into it, but I didn't want to kink shame her.". lmao

I have had multiple great ones! But this is still a shitty little trend/joke that should rapidly die. If any of my girlfriends did this to me I'd laugh in the moment but I'd sit down and talk with them later and explain that jokes like that aren't funny because you're not lightly teasing me you're accusing me of abuse in public and some people will not realize it's a joke and act accordingly.
My girl is a bit neurodivergent and does this for no reason. In front of her parents, in public, wherever. It's fucking wild lol

I work in the service industry. So I get it. It’s funny. It’s cute. It elicits a funny reaction.
But it’s kind of a fucked up “prank.” Like, how embarrassing for the dude. The server, the friends at the table, the guests at the table, the surrounding tables may now believe he starves her. GOD FORBID there were work folk/colleagues, etc at the table.
I find it more funny the over reaction and the adrenaline spike on the men.
In South America we would chuckle at the absurd joke, on these American men they seem to be running through all the stages of grief in a second wondering how to process it.
(And I guess they also started the subroutine processing subtext: "why is she saying it, did I fuck up, Is she signalling I have been too controlling?, is she being sarcastic?, is she masking it and being passive aggressive?")
