Isnt it a bit bad to act like your boyfriend is abusive infront of wait staff? Like the server would get the impression "this woman isnt allowed to eat certain stuff cause her man says so" and then view the man as scum?
adding the option "that sounds like a bad idea, think a about the bathroom incident just an hour ago. i dont have the cash on me to get you another pair of pants"
Tip them big, maybe let them in on the joke and they’ll have an awesome story to tell over and over again at the bar after their shift. Most servers I know would love this.
Many couples out there don’t live in perpetual fear of internet judgement and know each other well enough to know how they can joke around with each other. And the wait staff is probably aware enough to know that the woman with the phone out and recording their boyfriend’s reaction is just kidding.
No. It’s a joke. If you want to see women be the butt of the joke, watch the videos where a woman orders dessert and her boyfriend/husband then says he doesn’t want anything.
That’s why it’s posted here. It’s a prank. But kind of a messed up one. They are messing with their boyfriends. That’s the assumption they are hoping the waitstaff will have. I still think it’s pretty funny.
It's just 'content', these people wouldn't know something spontaneous and organic if it bit then on the arse. Hence why they're all the same question and forced reaction. Not an original thought in their heads.
Yes, it's actually pretty abusive especially if they don't clarify it's a joke afterwards. One girlfriend I had told a mutual coworker to say she didn't eat much if I texted him to ask. Never in my life have I ever asked anyone how much she's eaten.
Not to mention, I wouldn't be shocked if a waitress took a stealth picture of the dude after hearing that and posted on social media about what a POS he is.
I know someone who told me that each time her and her last ex would walk by some cops, as they are approaching them, she would be like "hey (boyfriend), look at me", and when he does, she would cower and cover her face.
She thought it was hilarious, especially when the cops would grab him for questioning.
That’s not abusive in many ways. Maybe someone is on any type of diet, maybe even for heart healt with less sodium intake and they are asking as help to remember.
Can I get the fries? (I can’t remember if I had to much salt already today I don’t want to have to much).
I think it's pretty clear in all these examples that they're kidding. Also my wife asks me to not let her get certain things all the time because she has 0 willpower and certain foods that she loves make her sick.
in fairness this does go both ways as far as trends are concerned, i usually see it with men doing it towards the family of their female partners. Like at a family dinner and ask her if they are allowed to eat tonight, and then its the girls mom getting all riled up.
I have seen one where the girl did it to her bf and he played along in the other direction for the waitress.
it was like: "Babe can i eat fries today?"
Him: "No, you've been putting on way too much weight recently".
Its the only proper response to her trying to slander you for views, then you should breakup because your relationship shouldn't be a joke nor should your partner make a joke of you being abusive to them.
Making a joke out of abuse is an interesting choice. I kind of get it because joking is often how people handle tough things but to put that joke on someone else isn't so nice.
