If my wife did this I’d dead ass just be like, “No absolutely not” and continue on with my own order.

I had a friend tell me she was gonna get a Monster while we were standing in like at Wal-Mart once. I decided to randomly tell her no, she can't have one. She plays along and says "you never let me have anything!" Some lady who was standing behind us hands her 5 dollars and tells her she can have whatever she wants and gives me the dirtiest look. Lol.

That was like artistry how they built up confidence in that old lady in order to give the girl some money. Pure confidence artistry.

A few days ago there was a lady checking out in front of me, a guy walked up and asked if she could buy him a drink. She said no, then the dude got in line with the drink, I didnt even notice till the cashier said "wait, he got in line, they usually dont do that" to the lady. I wonder how many times hes gotten a free drink by doing that

Huhhh weird. Wonder if that's one of those "ask anything" people. I've seen a few random videos of people doing shit like that under the (possible guise) of working on "Rejection Sensitivity". The idea in the best light is you just go around asking people random shit and getting denied over and over as exposure therapy I guess.

Yeah. "Hey Hun, I really want this thing but I understand if I can't right now..." She handles the budgets so I just generally confirm if frivolous spending fits the budget. Rarely is a no. Sometimes is a "wait". If she thinks it's really a waste or big purchase she tells me to think about it a little bit then let her know if she should fit it into the budget.

Married happily 15 years. It's a system that works for us.

One time (19) I was hanging outside a store with friends waiting for our other friend to end her shift.

I asked my lady friend, waiting with me, to bum me a cigarette and she jokingly said no. So I screamed back "this is why we can't have nice things and I've been cheating on you!" She played along and we got into an escalating argument over made up bullshit.

We never had any romantic interest but the neighboring apartments took it seriously and called the cops. I was wheeling a cart in the parking lot when the cops showed up with K9s and my working friend was mortified when she came out to us explaining the situation to the police.

I deadass would play along with whatever like op mentioned.
