My girl is a bit neurodivergent and does this for no reason. In front of her parents, in public, wherever. It's fucking wild lol ETA: could also be the product of PTSD from past relationships

Yeah my wife is always asking for permission to do things like go out with friends or take some time to play video games or something and I’m always telling her she can do what she wants and doesn’t need my permission

She also asks me “do you take your wife places like this?” In public whenever we go somewhere nice just to fuck with me lol

Yea, that may well be the case. People with past trams can sometimes take a lot of time to re-establish basic expectations like, “I’m allowed to ask for what I want.”
