Yeah that's great. Meanwhile I'm paying £2 for a litre of diesel.

32

u/Atlantidas Sep 21 '26

I believe it spelled liter? No need to thank me!

$2.68 USD

Or $10.16 per US gallon.

18

u/PafPiet Sep 21 '26

Oh that's neat, for diesel we're up at 12,29 USD per gallon here in the Netherlands.

7

u/New_Willow3761 Sep 21 '26

I've been working at Munich's very own Oktoberfest for 17 years. And almost each year I saw stuff that got me convinced that humanity has finally hit rock bottom. Only to be surpassed by a new all time low the following season. When I have learned one thing it is this: By design the human being can go way lower than it is capable of imagining the lowest of lows - thus being able to surprise itsself endlessly. And not in a good way. So brace yourself: We're not there yet.

Idiocracy would have been preferable to this shit.

Idiocracy starts in 2005, and then they wind up waking up 500 years later.

So between 2005 and 2505, intelligence dwindles and society collapses in on itself, until Joe Bauer/Not Sure saves the day.

But there's 500 years of collapse in there, and we're on year 21 of it.

Honestly, I expected the decline to be a bit more gradual, but I guess the movie doesn't make clear how long it took for civilization to reach that point.

You say that, but in a sense it is. Those with power are financially incentivized to reduce the education of the working class as make it harder for them to organize and bargain for better conditions and pay.

It also means their children are more likely to have a better education through the private sector meaning there is less competition for them to retain their wealth over generations. Keep the masses dump and malleable and entertained with bread and circuses is how they continually strip away your right our ancestors fought so hard to get.

14

u/LarkinToWinnipeg Sep 21 '26

Years ago I held a small contractor job with the DOD and was sent to the Pentagon one day on some routine errand. This was a few years after 9/11 and every single person I saw in the security lines, in the hallways, etc. had such a look of competence, experience, and collective purpose. I felt very much at the time that I did not deserve to stand there among those dedicated people who had spent their careers doing their best to serve their country.

If any of those people are still there, it blows my mind that they now have to sit there and witness this clown show. Forgive me, but its absolutely fucking INSANE.

Two of the planet's biggest assholes, 'content creators', were invited to speak to the troops by Sec of War Pete Hegseth. They also met with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

I maintain scintilla of optimism that my country has so far survived government by the bottom of the pile although I do not know how much longer this can go on without inviting disaster. The harm done by this admin will take at least a decade to fix. Many thanks to the US News Media, Republican voters and all of our 1%ers for making this tragedy possible.

3

u/wareagle3000 Sep 21 '26

The worst part is it will take an estimated decade to recover, we have 4 years at most of a democratic house before things are handed back to the crazies. Realistically, were fucked.

As someone from a normal country, may I ask who those two cunts are?

I mean, I don't know them but I can safely assume if they're involved with the US administration in any way, they must be two cunts... at the very least.

19

u/Thrasher0queen Sep 21 '26

You sure you don’t know who they are? Because yes they are at the very least that

17

u/MuJartible Sep 21 '26

I have enough deductive ability to infer what they are (at the very least), but no, I don't really know who they are.

22

u/Thrasher0queen Sep 21 '26

Lucky you. Not sarcasm I’m genuinely jealous that you don’t know who they are.

It’s a whole rabbit hole but the main points are: they went into the Japan suicide forest and filmed an actual body and I believe made fun of the person.

They used to have a bunch of fights about stealing each others girlfriends

Jake Paul went into boxing and “beat” Mike Tyson… it was an awful excuse for a fight that was obviously just a money grab

And Jake Paul also has a line of “sports drinks” that make drinking acid look healthy and those drinks are marketed to children of course.

The Paul brothers remind me of the Tate brothers honestly.

7

u/West_Inside_3112 Sep 21 '26

Jake Paul also went in the ring with Joshua, who managed to keep his power in check for a few rounds but then let his fist connect with Paul's jaw a bit to fast and broke it in 2 places. So now Paul's Olympic and world champion girlfriend has to feed him to a straw or premash his food for him and had to give up her sports career to suit him....

6

u/Thrasher0queen Sep 21 '26

They could have gotten a nurse to help him they have money galore. That was her choice.
But let’s not pretend that being a boxer does not come with risks like that.
