Yeah that's great. Meanwhile I'm paying £2 for a litre of diesel.

That is still so satisfying to watch

2

u/Negative-Mammoth-547 29d ago

God dam that was a cracking hit.

3

u/Happy-For-No-Reason 29d ago

This represents America getting it's ass whooped

u/Eggs_4_Breakfast 29d ago

I love the look of sheer terror on his face right before the blow lands, and in the reverse shot you can see the smile on Joshua’s face. So beautiful

1

u/Joe01091981 29d ago

it truly was amazing!

1

u/Geist_Mage Sep 21 '26

This made me actually laugh.

1

u/23-1-20-3-8-5-18 29d ago

Such a great song

2

u/Renew3DUK Sep 21 '26

Didn't even wear a suit.

1

u/Commonpleas Sep 21 '26

From his avatar, u/Obvious-Water569 isn't even wearing a suit.

1

u/Akrak_leBo Sep 21 '26

wearing a suit ?

1

u/digitalscavenger Sep 21 '26

Only counts when you're wearing a suite.

1

u/engineeringretard Sep 22 '26

My country is an import / export economy deep in the South Pacific.

The costs to our country because of these fuel hikes (a critical cost for logistics)  has made everything cost so, so much more.

Add some tariffs ontop of that and we are pretty much done.

So, yea, thanks.

29

u/Atlantidas Sep 21 '26

I believe it spelled liter? No need to thank me!
/s

2

u/ChocolatChipLemonade Sep 21 '26

When spelled litre, it’s pronounced lee-tree

2

u/Shnibblefritz Sep 21 '26

It’s not Lee-tire?

2

u/Obvious-Water569 27d ago

Close. It's "lee-tray"

2

u/ChocolatChipLemonade 27d ago

You sure? I think it’s lychee

3

u/LeaveMyMonkeyAlone Sep 21 '26

The word is spelled both ways. Litre is common in Europe. You're right. There is no need to thank you.

2

u/Ok_Bad_9835 Sep 21 '26

You must be fun at parties

3

u/LeaveMyMonkeyAlone Sep 21 '26

Have you always been an American bag of la douche'?

0

u/Ok_Bad_9835 Sep 21 '26

Dude why are you talking like that? Do you not touch grass?

1

u/Atlantidas Sep 21 '26

Should’ve corrected my more obvious spelling error but thank you anyways!
/s

0

u/Alaishana Sep 21 '26

Europe?
Liter is German.

1

u/LeaveMyMonkeyAlone Sep 21 '26

Try to get out of liter US and visit litre Europe countries as an international learning experience eh Alaishana? Germany isn't the only country there you know.

0

u/magicinsights Sep 21 '26

I’m presuming you’re American and have never been privy to a British Encyclopedia. The person who wrote that must be living in Europe or Britain in particular because they spelled “litre” correctly.
sometimes we have to expand our worldview

6

u/n0cheeseplz Sep 21 '26

He was joking. I know its hard to tell these days lol

2

u/aknownunknown Sep 21 '26

I'm English and I got it - the challenge was that you're American and we really don't expect effective sarcasm - thanks for adding the /s.

To my point now - As a native speaker of this English language, I'm ready to start a movement - to get Americans and the USA as a whole to adopt "American" as the name for the language they speak.

burglarized?! I don't want a keyboard or language choice limited to 'English (American)'.

Linked by association (even just language) is now enough to make me feel uncomfortabley close to you and your madness

4

u/n0cheeseplz Sep 21 '26

Not american, also not the original guy you responded to, gotta check the username, happens more often then you think lol. Its usually hard to tell sarcasm without the "/s", especially in this political climate, so I thought id help you out a bit, and maybe anyone else. I also agree, they should adopt American as the launguage lol

3

u/aknownunknown Sep 21 '26

Yeah I do that too often on reddit!

Here's to your good health and a non-dairy diet

1

u/jonnovich Sep 21 '26

Please notice the (/s) at the end of that person’s message. He/she was being sarcastic.

I know it’s hard to tell sometimes.

1

u/Safe_Pea7217 Sep 21 '26

We spell it as litre in both English and French Canada as well.

$2.68 USD

Or $10.16 per US gallon.

20

u/PafPiet Sep 21 '26

Oh that's neat, for diesel we're up at 12,29 USD per gallon here in the Netherlands.

6

u/New_Willow3761 Sep 21 '26

Somebody has to pay for that 40 trillion debt.

3

u/Cilph Sep 21 '26

Americans already whining at 6.50.

2

u/Ok_Spell_597 Sep 21 '26

America is HUGE. We use stupid amounts of fuel. I work in Grocery Supply Chain. I can unload half a truck in IL, and see the next stop is LA, literally 1000 miles away.

1

u/Obvious-Water569 29d ago

As much as I don't like to give Americans credit, this is a very good point that a lot of people either miss or intententionally ignore to make an argument.

Not only is the country not set up for walking, cycling or inter-city public transport, the distances between places is enough to break the minds of most Europeans.

If people had to pay what we pay in Europe the situation would be so incredibly fucked - way more than it already is.

0

u/Ok_Spell_597 29d ago edited 29d ago

It's not just getting people around either. Freight trains, trucks, and planes don't run on hopes and dreams (neither do their refrigeration units). Every product you buy in the store from towels to organic pasture raised eggs uses oil to get to you.

0

u/Obvious-Water569 29d ago

Indeed. That's actually the bigger part of the issue. People don't travel long distances personally all that often (further than Europeans, sure, but relative to the size of the country, it's small potatoes). Goods on the other hand... they ship coast to coast. Literally thousands of miles isn't uncommon. If diesel cost you over $10 a gallon, your already expensive food and other goods would be significantly more expensive.

26

u/lexkixass Sep 21 '26

Holy shit

37

u/MagicSBK Sep 21 '26

In Germany, we're currently paying up to $12 per gallon.

20

u/Mourning__Coffee Sep 21 '26

Here's an IOU from a random American citizen. There's no use apologizing, it's our fault but we owe you big after this is over.

14

u/Huge-Brick-3495 Sep 21 '26

"after this is over" could mean many things. But it's nice you think it will end.

5

u/Corfiz74 Sep 21 '26

You gave us the Marshall plan after ridding us of our fascist dictator. I'm so sorry we can't return the favor!

4

u/jonnovich Sep 21 '26

How about a lifetime supply of free Gravensteiner once the fat man goes away….assuming we get our act together?

2

u/god_peepee Sep 21 '26

When’s that gonna happen, and how?

2

u/CmdrJjAdams Sep 21 '26

Nah, you gave us Neil Young and Leslie Nielsen. That makes up for it. /s

6

u/Toaster556 Sep 21 '26

//taps you and the shoulder and whispers: Leslie Nielsen is Canadian

5

u/Terapia_Tapioco Sep 21 '26

Leslie Nielsen is was Canadian

R.I.P.

3

u/CmdrJjAdams Sep 21 '26

So is Neil Young. That's what the /s was for ;)

5

u/Toaster556 Sep 21 '26

If anyone needs me, I'll be over here learning sarcasm lol

2

u/BouillonDawg Sep 21 '26

We have a strong domestic supply as well as the strategic reserves that he’s been draining like no tomorrow so ours is only a third of that but even still it’s twice what it was.

The response from MAGA about this is to say that Biden caused it and Trump is actually the one fixing it.

They’re delusional beyond all hope of saving.

2

u/AP_Things807 29d ago

Sounds like the consensus is that it’s cheaper to buy cocaine, bump it, and just run everywhere.

1

u/Single_Morning_3200 Sep 22 '26

It’s like $3.60 a gallon in Houston

1

u/Salt_Young_4494 29d ago

Aren't you the electric blokes

3

u/Corfiz74 Sep 21 '26

And that's despite the fact that we get most of our crude from Norway now, so our supply isn't threatened (at least until China outbids us) - it's just that the world market prices are going through the roof.

1

u/Dorkamundo Sep 21 '26

I mean, they've been paying almost $8/gal for gas forever since they don't subsidize the auto industry nearly to the degree that the US does.

3

u/V65Pilot Sep 21 '26

Filling up my small motorcycle makes me wince. I'm not even driving my car, even though it gets 40mpg. My bike gets close to 100mpg.

2

u/sharpaz 29d ago

$3 a litre here (thanks yanky cunts)

I can have (for example) an ambulance, mri scan, anterior cruciate ligament op and subsequent physio free at the point of use.

Swings and roundabouts.

6

u/CapnStarence Sep 21 '26

Yeah?! Well my government makes deals with cartels and trades guns for cocaine to distribute to the people then incarcerate them. Bet you wish your country was THAT cool! /s

6

u/Sgt_Bill_Tozer Sep 21 '26

You have bested me sir.

26

u/sidblues101 Sep 21 '26

Yeah but according to Kegsbreath, it's everybody else's war.

6

u/GFresh86 Sep 21 '26

Close to 3 euro per liter on the mainland here.

3

u/Samp90 Sep 21 '26

Relax! It's for democracy!

4

u/halfasleep90 Sep 21 '26

We should be ending the age of automobiles and bring back the rickshaw

3

u/-ungodlyhour- Sep 21 '26

1.84 only because state is limiting prices. It will go to 3€ soon don't worry.

3

u/LovableSidekick Sep 21 '26

Bonespurs: "It's really a very inexpensive price to pay" [to support his war on Iran].

3

u/TheDuck23 Sep 21 '26

Just a heads up, most Americans wont be able to understand what you're talking about.

2

u/Obvious-Water569 29d ago

Should I put the cost equivalent in number of 9mm hollow points?

2

u/MedHot Sep 21 '26

Those are rookie numbers. 2.6 - 2.8 € in Finland. Lapland took lead today, 2.95€.

2

u/DodgerWalker Sep 21 '26

I asked Wolframalpha to covert pounds sterling per liter to dollars per gallon. That's $10.21/gallon! Wow!

2

u/Hairy_Ad8329 Sep 21 '26

In France it's 3€

2

u/AdEastern9303 Sep 21 '26

Not sure that’s a deal. Currently it’s like $6.29 a gallon which is like 1.23 pounds per liter.

2

u/jonnovich Sep 21 '26

So ….you’re winning too!

2

u/JeSuisParfait124 Sep 21 '26

In California diesel is almost $9. Unleaded fuel ranges from $6.50-7.50 or more depending or where in California.

2

u/smokycapeshaz2431 Sep 21 '26

Yep, that's around what we're paying in Australia too.

2

u/Reddragonsky Sep 21 '26

At this rate, my SO will be willing to trade in their hybrid and we’ll convert to a full EV household.

1

u/OkCoconut3270 Sep 21 '26

And.... depending on which poll you look at, he still has an approval rating somewhere between 30 and 40%.

1

u/NeedsBetterHobby Sep 22 '26

How many cursive L is in a gallon?

1

u/joemcg92 29d ago

That's $10.13 a gallon for us fellow Americans....

1

u/Correndous_Hunt 29d ago

And in that, you are not alone.

AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!

1

u/xBromleyy 29d ago

Im paying 3$ for a litre of diesel 😂

1

u/Electronic_Quote399 25d ago

The hell is a lederadiesel

1

u/Frizzlewits Sep 21 '26

In belgium last thursday: 2,45 euro

2

u/R4ND0M_N0B0DY Sep 21 '26

That cheap? Our Diesel in Germany cracked the 3€ mark last week in some parts, lol

1

u/Bikerbass Sep 21 '26

Make peace with Russia then…. Would allow you to get a lot cheaper fuel

2

u/Obvious-Water569 29d ago

Ah yeah, of course! Why did no one think of that?

Easier solution - the orange fuckwit could stop twatting about in the desert and mind his own business.

2

u/Bikerbass 29d ago

You really expect America to stay out of the Middle East?

Standard protocol is have a war, raise oil prices, have it last 20 years, give a couple of years for a break, and then go again.

2

u/Obvious-Water569 29d ago

I want them to, but I don't expect them to.

0

u/Bikerbass 29d ago

So then it’s easier to hold diplomatic relations with Russia and start trading with them, then isn’t it….

2

u/Obvious-Water569 29d ago

Depends on how you quantify "easier". In terms of which is more straightforward, capitulating with Putin is "easier" than the US pulling out of the middle east. But morally, it's way more complicated.

Saying "I'll let one morally bankrupt maniac continue fucking things up over there but make nice with another one over here to get cheap fossil fuels" won't make history remember you all that fondly.

0

u/Bikerbass 29d ago

I honestly don’t know why you think picking America is better than Russia, given that in the last 80 odd years…. I.e since the end of WW2 Russia hasn’t even done 1/2 the shit that America has done to the world.

It’s like Europeans have a hard on to keep picking the number one warmongering cunt of a country as their best mate.
