Trump is the worst President in American history. Sadly he is supported by millions of brainwashed morons the dumbest of the dumb.

Benedict Arnold might be dethroned??!?

684

u/gmen6981 5d ago

Prior to becoming a traitor, Benedict Arnold was a hero having been instrumental in the capture of Fort Ticonderoga, leading the American forces in the Battle of Saratoga and several other campaigns. He was considered one of the American's best and most ferocious commanders. Although treason is treason and Arnold was without a doubt a traitor for planning on turning West Point over to the British, he had a somewhat legitimate beef with the Continental Congress that led him to switch sides. Trump got nuthin'

That's super interesting. Thanks for sharing!

Well both seem to like to capitalize random words for emphasis lol

26

u/inkcannerygirl 5d ago

that's kinda an artifact of the time tho (German still capitalizes nouns to this day)

Spelling wasn't standardized yet either

9

u/shrug_addict 5d ago

Jefferson did the same thing. It seems it was sort of the writing style at the time

Vote Benedict Arnold for Major General of Continental Army again…i feel like his first term was just fake news media smear campaign!

Plus Washington is old, and a woke liberal!

I dunno man, he Capitalises random words for Emphasis just like a Certain Clown.

Shoot Arnold's actions at Saratoga were so respected they built a monument to the leg he lost but omitted his name from the inscription.

119

u/Dudge 5d ago

I mean, seems fair to the leg. After all, it didn't change sides .

22

u/Some_Ebb_2921 5d ago

Without the leg, he was pushed to the other side more easy.

5

u/Jona6509 5d ago

I thought he'd just fall over.

2

u/BlockObvious883 California 5d ago

It's often said that if he had died at Saratoga, he would have been celebrated alongside Washington to this day. Funny how history had other plans.

38

u/KittyGrewAMoustache 5d ago

Maybe he even had the right idea though, it might’ve actually been better if the US hadn’t become independent back then, when you look at it now and compare with other English speaking former British colonies like Canada and Australia. Maybe if the US had gone the same way as them, they’d not have ended up with such a large proportion of backward thinking cruel people and could’ve broken away from British rule gradually like the others and then actually gone on to be what it promised to be, the leader of a free world, beacon of progress etc.

70

u/Guy_GuyGuy 5d ago

The fork in the road away from the way of progress wasn't taken in the American Revolution. It was taken after the Civil War when Lincoln was assassinated and Andrew Johnson utterly sabotaged Reconstruction and any consequences for the Confederacy.

26

u/BigPackHater Ohio 5d ago

Would the US even allow slaves in the mid-1800s if they were still under British rule? I know the empire had made it illegal by then. However, there are other way the British took advantage of other people.

27

u/Guy_GuyGuy 5d ago

It depends whether the American colonists would have resisted with another war, and how hard Britain crushed it.

The important thing is we needed to crush it, and crush it hard. We crushed the South just hard enough to cause resentment, and then Johnson and later Rutherford Hayes immediately took the leash off them to do whatever they pleased, and we're still suffering the consequences of that.

2

u/Punchable_Hair 5d ago

I’m sure other people have run these numbers and might know better, but in that scenario, I wonder if the British would have been as inclined toward abolition. After all, if the US still belonged to Britain, the British oligarchy would have derived more of its wealth from slavery than in OTL and there may have been more resistance to it.

2

u/BereftOfCare 5d ago

When US people/voters/leadership have a choice they have often chosen the path with worst long term consequences. It's an embedded characteristic by now.

Benedict Arnold. One of America's 1st Conservatives.

2

u/Anna_Frican 5d ago

treason is treason

The USA didn't exist at that point, so even that is debatable. All rebels are traitors in a sense (which I'm not condemning), but he was a royal subject who eventually had enough of the backstabbing from his fellow rebels and turned loyalist. The American side just had to make a really big deal about it because he was high-profile and they needed to stop mass-defections in his wake.

u/acEightyThrees 5d ago

Benedict's actual impact was pretty small. His plan to surrender that fort didn't work, and when he switched sides he only led a couple minor raids. Plus, the outrage of his defection united the colonies even more.

Trump is actively bringing on the collapse of American hegemony and the fall of America as the leader of the free world. In addition, the US Aid cuts that Elon did on behalf of Trump have led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people already.

60

u/PrimeToro 5d ago

Plus Benedict Arnold was actually a brave and courageous general for the continental army of George Washington, who risked his life and was almost killed in a couple of battles.

He only turned traitor after repeatedly being mistreated by the continental congress . Even then, after he was broke , it took a bad marriage to the wrong woman to get him to become a traitor.

Trump willingly decided to become a traitor.

Benedict Arnold was still a traitor but Trump is much worse than him.

38

u/FaceDeer 5d ago

And if nothing else, Benedict Arnold was a traitor for some particular cause. To the British he was a loyalist who risked a lot for their benefit.

Trump cares about nothing except his own personal benefit, and for that matter only his personal benefit in the immediate here-and-now short term. He wants what benefits Trump right here, right now, with no other care or interest beyond that.

I'd find him to be an implausible caricature if he were a fictional character.

4

u/BlockObvious883 California 5d ago

The British didn't exactly repay that loyalty. Even they saw him as "if he could do it to them, he could do it to us."

This has been a war and Trump has been Russia's greatest asset since the '80's. He was the conduit to launder massive amounts of money and compromise the GOP, scotus some dems and others on orders from Russia. Using a combination of bribery, blackmail and credible threats of violence, Russia has effectively dismantled the United States without firing a shot..

28

u/BigStoneFucker 5d ago

We aren't dismantled we're just getting our asses ripped off and going to be paying for it for years and years but they're about to get the ass kicked in a couple of weeks

18

u/wastingtoomuchthyme 5d ago

Trump has been damaging every US institution since being placed in power.. US government agencies are all being run by corrupt loyalists and each of these loyalists have caused nearly irreparable damage to the agency.. DOJ DOD etc are all run by performative dipshits who are actively working to destroy their credibility.. why is the US attorney going to Russia? Why did Pete fire all the military leaders?

The goal is to destroy US soft power and influence and world standing .. who benefits?

Putin and his boss. Xi..

148

u/Ok_Lettuce_7939 5d ago

They just revealed how shitty America really is, all along. I was once a proud American until the voting plurality of them decided a pedophile rapist convicted felon was the best person to hold the highest office in the land. It really "woke" me up to how awful America has become. But it didn't happen overnight. Started with the recision of the Fairness Doctrine and super charged with Russian Info Ops backing rightwing MAGA influencers and negatively impacting the overall political process itself. In a way, I congratulate the Neo-Soviet Union under Tsar Putin for defeating the US without firing a single shot. Thanks to Trump he has destroyed the US economy, US military, and our system of stable alliances, the very things the USSR needed to do to win the Cold War.

22

u/Bean916 5d ago

Don’t forget Citizens United

10

u/EntrepreneurTop5670 5d ago

→ More replies (2)

6

u/WillSmiff 5d ago

Just because you just "woke" up doesn't mean America wasn't awful while you were sleeping.

I know it sounds crazy, but you think America was less awful when blacks weren't allowed in stores or in the front of the bus? That wasn't even that long ago. Let's not talk about what happened in LATAM. America has always been awful.

5

u/Ok_Lettuce_7939 5d ago

Of course...that was what "woke" is all about, acknowledging America has had a terrible past (where does one start, Slavery? Japanese internment? Operation Wetback? Trail of Tears? Jim Crow and Segregation) but knowing that it can and will turn the page and become a better nation. But we are regressing.

4

u/shrug_addict 5d ago

I think most people acknowledge that, but looked at continued progress. That is the illusion that was shattered. Similar to Fukiyama's "End of History", our Hegelian vision of progress has been shattered

I'm convinced Musk stole the election for him something to do with his internet satellites.

As his reward Trump gave him access to all of America's data.

Then they had a fake fight called each other some names, Musk disappears until reappealing just last week just in time to help steal another election.

yep the EC doesn't make sense democratically.

so what 20m ppl can vote for one guy but "TECHNICALLY" 2 state reps can overrule that and just decide nah we want this guy and that's it

US needs to enact the system australia has alterantive Or preferential voting

So even if the person u did wan't doesn't win..the votes they do get can be sent to the next person on ur ballot all the way down till ur vote is expunged..so ur vote is never wasted..

Holy shit as an american once i moved there their voting and political system is just vastly supperior to anythin the US has.. it's more fair, MUCH more stringent checks on power.

Id say the US also needs AGE caps on service.

And also mandatory term limits is a must i agree

I think massive regulatory powers on media too.

News..Must print factually, and can not operator or publish opinion pieces.. if u want to do that open a magazine or a blog..

70 percent of the problem would be solved if u didn't have some wackjob spouting to nan from 6pm-10pm how anyone who isn't white is the devil.

2

u/MSGdreamer 3d ago

The following is very insightful. I saw it recently and can’t share it enough.

It’s a quote by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a Protestant leader of the German resistance who died speaking about the nature of stupidity and how it’s more dangerous than evil:

“Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease.”

“Against stupidity we are defenseless.”

“Neither protests nor the use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed — in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical — and when facts are irrefutable, they are just pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self-satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack.”

“For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.”

“If we want to know how to get the better of stupidity, we must seek to understand its nature. This much is certain, that it is in essence not an intellectual defect but a human one. There are human beings who are of remarkably agile intellect yet stupid, and others who are intellectually quite dull yet anything but stupid. We discover this to our surprise in particular situations. The impression one gains is not so much that stupidity is a congenital defect but that, under certain circumstances, people are made stupid or that they allow this to happen to them. We note further that people who have isolated themselves from others or who live in solitude manifest this defect less frequently than individuals or groups of people inclined or condemned to sociability. And so it would seem that stupidity is perhaps less a psychological than a sociological problem. It is a particular form of the impact of historical circumstances on human beings, a psychological concomitant of certain external conditions. Upon closer observation, it becomes apparent that every strong upsurge of power in the public sphere, be it of a political or a religious nature, infects a large part of humankind with stupidity. It would even seem that this is virtually a sociological-psychological law. The power of the one needs the stupidity of the other. The process at work here is not that particular human capacities, for instance, the intellect, suddenly atrophy or fail. Instead, it seems that under the overwhelming impact of rising power, humans are deprived of their inner independence and, more or less consciously, give up establishing an autonomous position toward the emerging circumstances. The fact that the stupid person is often stubborn must not blind us to the fact that he is not independent. In conversation with him, one virtually feels that one is dealing not at all with him as a person, but with slogans, catchwords, and the like that have taken possession of him. He is under a spell, blinded, misused, and abused in his very being. Having thus become a mindless tool, the stupid person will also be capable of any evil and at the same time incapable of seeing that it is evil. This is where the danger of diabolical misuse lurks, for it is this that can once and for all destroy human beings.”

“Yet at this very point it becomes quite clear that only an act of liberation, not instruction, can overcome stupidity. Here we must come to terms with the fact that in most cases a genuine internal liberation becomes possible only when external liberation has preceded it. Until then we must abandon all attempts to convince the stupid person. This state of affairs explains why in such circumstances our attempts to know what “the people” really think are in vain and why, under these circumstances, this question is so irrelevant for the person who is thinking and acting responsibly. The word of the Bible that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom declares that the internal liberation of human beings to live the responsible life before God is the only genuine way to overcome stupidity.”

“But these thoughts about stupidity also offer consolation in that they utterly forbid us to consider the majority of people to be stupid in every circumstance. It really will depend on whether those in power expect more from peoples’ stupidity than from their inner independence and wisdom.”

• Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Bonhoeffer was an amazing man, willingly going to prision based on his beliefs. Before he was allegedly sent to & hung in a concentration camp, he was sent to the cellar prison of the Reich SS Headquarters in Prinz-Albrecht-Straße 8 in Berlin (now the site of the Topography of Terror memorial) & strung up like an animal on a butcher’s hook, in a room designed to torture & murder political opponents like animals in a slaughterhouse. His end is unknown, because his body was never found. Fascism is just the brutal disregard for everything.

That's not accurate! Be fair! He's the worst TWO presidents in American history. Which is extra wild, because the now-third place is Buchanan, who caused the Civil War.

1

u/AsparagusUpstairs367 5d ago

They need to actually remove him from office. No impeachment or anything. Lock all these actual traitors up while investigations happen

1

u/LoadSubstantial6542 5d ago

Whoa cut thay number in half because they are Russian bots

1

u/wentImmediate 5d ago

Trump is the worst President in American history.

The 'No Kings' are so spot-on. If you look at what the President says and does, they align with how a king would behave.

The fact that Trump is the president at American's 250th anniversary, after rebelling against a king is very fitting.

1

u/joggle1 Colorado 5d ago

He's easily the worst. He's like a lousy comic book villain. If someone described a president like him to me back in the 90s, I'd think you had a terrible imagination and couldn't come up with realistic villains for your story.

1

u/carterartist 5d ago

The sad thing is it is only like 30% of the nation (the same who also believe angels are real and ufos have come to Earth)... And he has NEVER had had 50% of this nation on his sade, even though he lied and said he had a mandate.

1

u/Educational_Suit_680 5d ago

That depends on your perspective. If, like Peter Theil you “no longer believe that democracy and freedom are compatible” then he’s doing a great job and it’s all going to plan.

1

u/SignificantScreen100 5d ago

Orbán had the support of millions, but the opposition was flooding the streets.

1

u/KTX77 5d ago

I'll take it a step further... Trump is the worst American in American history.

1

u/SaulTNNutz 5d ago

Unfortunately, in 20 years you'll have a bunch of people talking about what a straight-talking badass he was because he was an outsider who didn't give a fuck and a bunch of democrats saying "I didn't agree with him but he really did love America and did his best to make it a better place.

1

u/AmuseDeath 5d ago

60% were white men, 53% were white women, 80% identified as Christian, 70% of America's voting population is white. That's your demographic.

1

u/SenseisSifu 5d ago

Deplorables

1

u/NextGen-Panic 5d ago

Unfortunately, according to 18 U.S. Code §2381, being a stupid motherfucker doesn't exempt you from High Treason.

1

u/fistedwithlove 5d ago

By virtue of the power he wields I might argue he's one of the worst people in American history.

1

u/ChHeBoo United Kingdom 5d ago

I’d argue he’s a contender for one of the worst human beings in history.

1

u/fallenreaper 5d ago

tens upon tens of millions.

1

u/Suds344 5d ago

Those people are called Americans.

1

u/schfiftyfiveshades 5d ago

possibly worst president in all of human history

1

u/AlwaysGoWithDinosaur 5d ago

But isn’t pretty much everything Presidents do legal now?

1

u/TruthOf42 5d ago

The worst? I mean, it really depends on how you look at it. Andrew Jackson basically committed acts of genocide, as well as numerous other presidents against Native Americans, and numerous others suppressed blacks and minorities far worse than trump.

So, the worst in the last 50 years? Probably.

1

u/SookHe 5d ago

MAGA, the lowest SATs and highest STDs

1

u/eMan117 5d ago

And as long as they keep cutting education and putting WWE execs in charge of education, the trend will only worsen.

1

u/RealHooman2187 5d ago

In terms of competence he absolutely is the worst, in terms of monstrous acts while in office, there maybe one or two who still have him beat (just barely). But yeah, if you average it all out he’s easily the worst or second worst. The only person who might be worse is Andrew Jackson because of the whole Trail of Tears thing.

1

u/Disastrous-Road184 5d ago

Not brainwashed. They don’t like him either but he is their only means to their ends. He has the lowest approval rating in history, that doesn’t happen unless your own supporters don’t like you.

1

u/randomisation 5d ago

He is, however, the best President Russia has ever had!

1

u/Usual_Opportunity626 5d ago

He's not just the worst president. He's arguably one of the worst humans that has been alive. He gorges himself on the suffering of others. He rapes and likely kills children. He has incestuous fantasies of his own children. If I was religious I would full on believe him to be an antichrist.

1

u/warrior891 5d ago

And we still outnumber those millions of brainwashed morons.

1

u/Electrical-Review180 5d ago

That's why I'm not convinced the US won't elect somebody even worse than him.

Only hope is that it can't be Thiel but that's not a big one

1

u/endlesskane 5d ago

Less than you think, gotta remember they got their grubby hands into the votes

1

u/higglesworth 5d ago

The worst American in American history

1

u/mpr1283 5d ago

I mean…Andrew Jackson signed the Indian Removal Act of 1830 and oversaw the forced removal of Native nations from the Southeast. The best-known result was the Trail of Tears, in which thousands of Cherokee, Muscogee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Seminole people died from disease, exposure, and starvation…I don’t like Trump at all but say he’s worse than Andy is a stretch.

1

u/mpr1283 5d ago

Hell, FDR signed an order in 1942 that locked up 120,000 Japanese Americans, Wilson openly segregated parts of the federal workforce and Johnson opposed or undermined reconstruction-era protections for freed Black Americans.

1

u/ixiduffixi 5d ago

Seriously, when are the ones in power going to get exhausted covering for him? Even if your agenda is getting done, this fuckwit is nothing but the toddler-king smearing shit on the drapes.

1

u/ZiggoCiP 5d ago

Tens of millions. He only lost due to the apathy of millions of non-Trump supporters. We gotta fight like hell to start to fix this damn mess. And the worst part is, a lot of them are learning to tuck their politics back into hiding. Many didn't change, they just realized that it was no longer popular/lucrative to cram it in people's faces.

1

u/Unfair_Elderberry118 5d ago

Him being a complete idiot is a feature. It's the only way they could get a POTUS to openly do all the hateful, fear mongering, greedy AF things he does.

1

u/foreverandadayalone Canada 5d ago

And kept in place by the rest who are too comfortable to act.

1

u/CastlesofDoom 5d ago

This guy ain’t no Jim Jones. They’re not brainwashed, they’re just dumb and racist. 🤣

1

u/Pvrb80 5d ago

He just hate the same people and things they hate.

1

u/natterca 5d ago

He’s the worst president SO FAR. With the total erosion of the GOP you’re gonna get more because there simply isn’t any checks and balances now.

1

u/SinisterCroissant 5d ago

But how many of those morons are bots?

1

u/jjfrenchfry Canada 5d ago

Great. Now they're going to vote even harder for a republican because of your mean words forcing their hand

1

u/Independent_Many_267 5d ago

Don't forget he's also controlled by the billionaires

1

u/Patient_Wrongdoer_11 4d ago

Worst part is he doesn't care. He would consider that an honor.

Narcissists dont care if the attention they get is negative or positive- as long as they are front and center.

He has definitely achieved his goal of being remembered for...well....forever

1

u/Ok-Leg3134 4d ago

somebody needs to redumb them the good dumb way. The complexity seems to hang low on this effort!

1

u/ToubDeBoub 4d ago

It's not only the stupid who support him. There are smart and successful people who support him because they really like what he's doing, they like an authoritarian Christo fascist administration.

1

u/SirrNicolas Virginia 4d ago

They wanted us to reconsider representation as Americans. Unfortunately I have now. I no longer believe a representative democracy of all the people is a good idea. These morons will destroy us all.

We must stop being afraid of poll tests and implement an IQ based fitness test for voting rights. Nothing below double digits. No more horse tranq regulars getting to vote for our international environmental policy leaders.

1

u/Soft_Walrus_3605 4d ago

He's one of the worst Americans, period.

1

u/ivmo71 3d ago

Worst president the WORLD has ever seen.
