I have been wanting to share this story for a long time as it happened in the summer of 2020 and I have definitely learned many lessons from this.
To start from the beginning, but also making it brief, we met on a dating app. It was the time of COVID, and thankfully I didn't contract that or an STD (phew)!
I started talking to this guy (Lets call him Brian) that lived an hour from me, and was actively doing military things, so he was gone often at our capital city. That is releavant because our first 2 dates were while he was busy with that. By our 3rd date, I drove to his town and while I was sitting at the place waiting for him, he called stating that he would be late because of a family thing, which I was totally fine with and waited for him. We actually started officially dating that night.
Fast forward a couple months later, he refused to let me meet his family and actually had me HIDE at a walgreens when we ran into his sister there. He physically left the store so she didn't see him there "with someone", but came back to pick me up. This is when I started questioning things. He also refused to spend the night at my place, and just blamed it on "home sickness". The final shove I had to become the "psycho", was when he was insistent that his "gal-pals" were in his life to stay becuase they meant a lot to him, and he would only disconnect from talking to them everyday when we get married. No bueno.
So I started getting curipous to see HOW he talks to his Gal pals and wanted to beecome one of them without him realizing it was me.
The only option? Catphishing.
I created this elaborate story and added him on snapchat. He fell for the story and began talking to this fake profile (lets name her Paige), more than he would talk to ME, his girlfriend. I also forgot to mention that right before this, I busted him for still texting his ex. But he let me read the conversation and it seemed harmless so I was just trying not to overreact. Anyways, Brian was talking to Paige for a couple days just getting to know her, and absolutely nothing sexual. Out of the blue one day, he sends a D-Pic to Paige, and a video. I was apallled and had never received one before and immedietly started laughing. I was with my mom and her friends, so we came up with this plan.
Ultimately he is a cheater, but with a character I created, so they wanted me to see how far he would go. I picked a random address in the neighboring state (an hour and a half from where he lived), and Paige asked him if he wanted to come over to "F" in the Poolshed. He willingly agreed and was quickly on his way there. Paige asked Brian to share his location so she can see when he was getting close, but really it was me checking to see if he was actually going through with this. Eventually he arrived, and Paige had him park a few houses down. I didn't want him to actually disturb a random family, so Paige came up with a lame excuse to get him to drive home and take a "rain check". He wasn't mad at her, but was trying to reschedule immedietly.
The next day I texted him, planning a date. My plan? He was very protective of his phoone so I was going to slip a text as Paige while I was with him, and use that as an excuse to get ME to search Brian's phone. The plan was working out perfectly because he knew nothing was saved with his conversation to Paige (how I planned it), so he was okay with me seeing that converation. Upon going through his phone, I didn't even click on the profile I created, since I knew what was already there, but I instead clicked on the girl I worried most about. and that's when I hit the jackpot. NUDES,. Many women, many images. I clicked off right away and absolutely LOST MY MIND.
He explained he had a problem, blah blah blah, and that they never met in person, it was just sexting. So I decided to cool off and weigh my odds to see what I should do next since he had already brainwashed me into thinking no one else would be able handle me the way he does (before I busted him for cheating).
A couple days go by and I am just cold towards him, I didn't know my next steps yet. But then he called me, SOBBING. "I messed up" he kept saying over and over again. So I stopped what I was doing and rerouted my car to drive to his place. He continued by saying "IVE BEEN SLEEPING WITH MY EX THIS ENTIRE TIME". Wonderful. While I was making the hour drive to him, I was screaming at him on the phone, and found out who his ex was and sent her the "hey girly" text, along with the other gal pals he had.
By the time I made it to his place, I had way too much information. Remember when he was late to our 3rd date? The day we started dating? He actually broke up with his ex that day. But conitnued seeing her every time he knew I was working late and wouldn't be on my phone.
Remember how he was working at the capital city for awhile? While he was dating his ex, seeing me, etc? He was also hooking up with random tinder girls at that time too.
To sum this up, obviously we broke up. But his ex blackmailed him after this, the other chicks blocked him, and I had him eating out of my hand since I was physically at his place and he thought I was going to beat the crap out of him. (for reference, I am 5'5 150lbs and he was 6'2ish 220lbs or so).
I made sure he came clean to EVERYONE before I left for good, and eventually told him that Paige, was ME. He cried as it was the 2nd time he was catphished apparently.
Needless to say, I scarred this man. I don't know where he is now in life, but I do pray that his time with me was life changing enough to be afraid to never cheat again. I also eventually met a man that cured all the trauma I picked up from Brian.
Happily Ever After? Anyways,, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did because I have been looking for a place to share this store for a long time.
EDIT: thank you SMOSH for getting me hooked on Reddit and helping me find the outlet to share my story. (I don’t condone catphishing. Brian and I dated for 4ish months. It was so long ago that there are WAY more jucier details, but the shared ones are what I remember most vividly in order to keep the story as accure as possible).
