Before I start this story out, I don't know how to get all of this out of my chest, I don't expect my story to be perfect like the others out there, so if things may be a blur here or there, don't hesitate to comment on the post, and I'll try to clarify there.
So first of all, right now, I am 16, and this is about when I was 8-9? Please bare with me here.
I was going in a tuition (basically extra classes which prepare you for school), same floor as my house, nothing too fancy. I was in 2nd grade and I was the type of guy raised by my mother fully focusing on all my academics, so yeah, that's kind of the premise, so basically, I was going to this tuition for quite a while now and I don't remember around what time or when, but there was this girl, again, I don't know when, but she just sort of appeared one day. Her perfume, oh her unmistakable perfume, I smelt it from a room away and I looked up, and I saw her, I forgot everything for a moment and I kind of just stared, she was the same age as me, she also went to the same school. I don't really remember how we started talking, but she was as nerdy as I was, and we both were nerdy about pretty similar stuff. We were the "jewels" of the place according to our teacher, we used to ace tests together, sit together, be the closest, without even giving it much thought (like you'd expect at 8 years old).
Slowly, we started growing closer and closer, and there was a staircase in the middle of my classes and my house, both of us, everyday after tuition, used to climb 3-4 stairs of that staircase until the wall of the stairwell has covered both of us well, and then we used to talk about gaming. Like... no one in my entire class played as much "Games" on their mobile as me, so I'd never have anything to
socialize about, anything to talk about. but this girl was literally as knowledged as me in every single gaming field, if not more. We used to talk about games like asphalt and WWE immortal (I recall specifically that she was miles better than me at that game and she was literally standing there one day for 30 mins explaining to me how i should use my moves so I start winning in that game more.
One day, a student from the same tuition who had also come out caught us talking on the stairwell, and he jsut gave us kind of a grin and left (he was wayy older than both of us. Probably 15-16). The next day, he told the teacher, and the teacher asked us "Really, do you both do that?" And we just shrugged it off "Yeah, we talk about our games and all", Both of us were so casual about it, almost pure, pure enough to not know what was wrong with a man and woman talking in a staircase long after we've left our classes. The teacher didn't speak a word, she just allowed it to happen after that.
No, I really want to tell you how perfect she was, she was literally an angel, scent smelt from rooms across, nature so kind and loving, so pure, so perfect, it was like an heaven sent gift to an introvert who didn't have any friends and was neglected everywhere. She was literally the person who I'd be the most comfortable to talk to, more than the so called "Friends" my school had who'd always give me the cold shoulder and have me chasing around them, A mere glance from her in my school would make my day knowing that she was going to be there at tuition. When she didn't come to tuition, well, the day progressed normally, but there would be some clear absence noticeable.
Then one day, she just comes over to me, during school, and tells me the most harrowing thing ever. "My father got a job in another place, so we're changing states.", I obviously didn't know how to react, I was so close to her, perhaps we were so close to each other, we didn't know how to communicate that, so I just gave her a "oh really..??" and we went on with the couple of last days together. Nothing really changed, but things got emptier. And one day, I was going to tuition when my tuition teacher said "She came to say goodbye earlier today, she was searching for you but I told her you would be outside, she didn't say anything later and left." I was actually so sad, and that day onwards, for a couple of days, I didn't really focus on studies, Keep in mind, I didn't understand the concept of love or anything at that age, I just felt like, someone who was so relatable and close to me will just stop existing for me for the next forever until we somehow meet each other again, and the teacher would sometimes joke about me "missing" my friend when i would make silly mistakes on my exam paper which I didn't make before.
This hits me so hard, because I know there is no possible way to recall her. I've seen everywhere, I've seen photos, I've seen videos, I can't find her in those. I don't remember her, I don't remember how she looked, I don't exactly remember that fragrance but I promise you, if she were to walk past me once again, I would unmistakably recognize her, I would unmistakably recognize that charming smile, that charming smell, that welcoming voice and that angelic presence.
This thought has been haunting me, because I just don't know, I don't know whether she remembers me the same way and is, somewhere, searching for me too, or if she forgot me as some vivid childhood friend, she was almost too perfect to be with me, so I don't blame her if she doesn't remember. But the worst part is if she is yearning for me the same way I remember her, then I don't know when we'll ever meet, I don't know how she is, I don't know how she'll be in the future.
I've had crushes here and there but I never imagine myself in a relationship with any of them because she set the bar too high. And I don't even mean it as in I expect something from them, the problem with me is, I doubt I would be with anyone else, because hardly anyone could make me feel heard, listened to, or felt like that one anonymous girl I have no trace of.
I've thought about telling this to friends, people, but I never mustered any courage to do so, because, the age when we met was little, I agree, but I cannot really explain in a few words that what we had wasn't the cringe trendy love and holding hands or a simple crush at a young age.. it was something so pure and something so amazing, like a dream girl descending from heavens to help out an introverted nerd.
Anyways... that'd be about everything that was on my chest. I'll be sure to reply to your comments or edit the post if you have any other questions or if you feel I left out a part of the story. Thank you!
