I'm been spending over an hour trying to get the Mel-Band Roformer or whatever it's called models on UVR. However, it's only in .ckpt files, which I hate, and .yaml files (which I also hate). I've tried just about everything to make it work and I keep getting error messages. Please understand that I have no coding knowledge. Help is appreciated, I really need these models to work, and I refuse to have a limited amount of minutes or uploads on X-Minus or MVSep. I can't pay for things like that.

Kali IN-UNF for tracking/ listening? Anything better?
So it was either this set or ik's micro monitors.
So I have an untreated little bedroom studio where I use my VSX headphones for my mixing, but I wanted something I could use when I just don't want to wear headphones. Sometimes I just don't want to wear headphones but I still want to be able to record and hear my guitar and bass playing or do some basic staging.
Would the Kali IN-UNF be ideal for this? Or maybe the Micro Monitors?
What do yall think? I have a chance to get the Kali set for $450 so I'd say my budget is $470 for a used set/ pair.

How to Mix my PS5 and PC5 audio into One pair of Headphones?
Hi, I know ya need a mixer for something like this, but can anyone guide me to what kind of mixer and any full on guides on how to do this? I've been googling the past few days, nothing like what I want to know has shown up. Is there a way I can have my PS5 and PC audio be on one pair of headphones? Be it via dongle, regular Bluetooth or wired connection. I want to be able to switch between having my headset on or have a standalone mic XLR/USB that can be switched between devices for use, Choosing when My mic can talk to people on PS5 or on PC.

Hi all, I'd like to ask for the best way to engineer my audio technica atr 1500 microphone for home recordings. I have this dynamic mic and a condenser rode nt1 5a. I've tested both and although I've used the ATR on a few recordings, it often ends up sounding poor in recordings except for this one time I layered vocal takes. I'm not trying to layer takes all the time as it is not the aesthetic I'm constantly going for and since I don't have a treated room or vocal booth to use the condenser (which I tried: it leaks sound because I have windows and it picks up every sound in the room). I think My best option is to use the dynamic mic to record. I've read about Bjork using the dynamic mic (the shure sm58, I believe) on her HOMOGENIC album recording so I'm wondering if audio technica is a comparable company to do home recordings on ATR microphone. I'd appreciate recs on getting the best performance and recordings from my current setup. For context I am using a steinberg ur12 as my interface and I have an m audio desktop speaker as well as hifi senheisser headphones I use when recording. Thank you.

The brand name won't tell you whether the ATR suits your voice. Also, a dynamic mic doesn't automatically reject more room sound than a condenser once their recorded levels are matched; distance and pickup pattern matter a lot. For the ATR, working fairly close with a pop filter can improve the voice-to-room balance. Keep the desktop speakers off while recording and monitor through the headphones.

MIC RECOMMENDATIONS
I’ve got about $500 I’m looking to throw into my home studio. Been using an SM 57 & 58, I’ve got a rode nt1 I liked at first but not using as much as I’d like to. I track on a tascam 424mkiii and also a Focusrite 4i4, bounce back and forth between tape and computer.
Been looking at a WA-47jr for sale locally, they’ve got 2 for sale like new $200 each. There’s a WA-47 right at $500. Also looking at a pair of cascade fathead ii, they’re asking $650 but I think I could haggle down $100 bucks. Idk if I’ve got the preamp power for ribbons but they interest me a lot.
I record indie rock & folk - mostly tracking electric guitar cab, drum overheads, acoustic guitar and other rhythmic instruments. Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

Best way to record from a mixing board?
Hi there,
I play in venues, busk and do outdoor gigs in Japan and wanted to create some simple reels and TikTok videos. I usually set up my phone or an Osmo Pocket 3 to record the visuals but I am not always able to situate the camera so it’s in front of the speaker so I don’t get the best audio.
I know I can’t predict what each gig will have what kind of mixer, but in general, what is a good way to record sound directly from the mixing board?
I had talked to staff from a music store and he said either a CD-R, something like a Zoom H4essential or an interface/laptop (however he didn’t recommend the last option as it’s not preferred by most sound engineers and I also don’t want to carry around my laptop).
I’m looking into a Zoom H4essential with 1/4TRS-1/4TRS cables but wondering if it’s overkill for something simple like TikTok videos. The staff member also suggested I could use the Zoom H4 for recording actually live sound like putting it on a tripod and putting it in front of the speakers but when I do outdoor gigs, it can be a hazard in terms of space and I don't want people bumping into it.
Thanks for the advice.

A portable recorder is a sensible fit, but arrange the feed with the venue engineer first: you need an available line-level output, and the connectors may differ between mixers. Also, the PA mix isn't necessarily a balanced recording. A loud guitar amp or acoustic drums may be barely present in the board feed because they're already loud in the room. For your reels, that balance matters more than buying a more elaborate recorder.

Trying to get some stereo audience mics for our church to capture the congregation singing along with the song leader. Is this a good placement to capture a mic stereo sound? (Eg. Clapping, singing etc) I want like a choir sound behind the song leader on the live stream.
(We’re going to angle the left mic 45 degrees too so ignore that)

Looking to get a in ear monitor system for my air x18. Basically use the 6 aux outputs for 6 separate mixes to 6 different musicians. Best suggestions, brands to avoid, ect?
