Random Question 💭 Does anyone actually buy the flying Tesla grift?

• Upvotes

Tesla is allowing people to put deposits of up to $250k to reserve a flying Tesla roadster (or a thrust model).

Do people actually believe they will be owning one of these? Cars have to go through enormous regulatory and safety hurdles which a flying car would never pass. Even Elon didn't have enough confidence to drive it himself.

Yet people are blown away by the flying Tesla. This was a good stunt or a movie prop, but he is basically the monorail salesman from the Simpsons

NSFW Question 💭 Why do some people act like being perpetually late is a personality trait?

It's so frustrating when you make plans with someone and they consistently show up 15 20 minutes late. They always have some excuse. It just feels like a lack of respect for other people's time. Why is this such a common thing?

Random Question 💭 Any national food chains that still sell a quality product not ruined by private equity?

It seems like everything these days is being cheapened by these pe firms. Wendy's, Panara, Jersey Mikes, Sonic, Dennys are all on my no go list these days. Multiple bad experiences with food that calling it "edible" would be generous compliment. Any chains still as good as they have always been? The only one I can think of is In-n-Out Burger, which seems to be the same as its always been.

NSFW Question 💭 Both Israel and Saudi Arabia receive US military support. Both are fighting Iranian proxies. Both conflicts have resulted in man-made famines and humanitarian crises. So why does only one make the news?

100,000 Yemini children have died from starvation in ongoing conflicts between Saudi Arabia with US aid against the Houthis with Iranian aid.

The UN printed this report as recently as 22 September 2026

https://news.un.org/en/story/2026/09/1168390

But why doesn't it make headlines in American newspapers? Why does no one talk about the influence of the Saudis over the White House?

Random Question 💭 Why are so many US citizens against dividing up the USA?

• Upvotes

If Trump has done anything good, it is to show us that we are severely divided as a nation. We are not living in the same reality, and all that is happening is the extremes are continuing to pull harder and harder.

I have long advocated for a 6 way amicable divorce. Divide the land into 6 nations by geographic regions and social preference. Allow for open boarders much like Europe has so people could shift and migrate to countries that more suited them.

Every time I bring up this idea on reddit however it is downvoted but no one can explain WHY they don't like it

So tell me why you think this is a bad idea.

Here are a couple thoughts before you dive in:

1) Yes I am aware that not everyone lives in an area with a majority like minded people. That's what immigration is for.

2) Yes I know poor people would have a hard time moving . . . but frankly if migrants can WALK from drug torn Nicaragua/Venezuela to the USA with nothing on their backs, then complaining about it here in the USA is a bit of a first world problem don't you think?

3) The money could stop flowing from blue states to red states and the red states could have all the handmaid tales bullshit laws they wanted to vote in. People who didn't like it would leave.

Advice Question 💭 I feel uncomfortable in my skin, I have no pride in myself, in my existence. I have no confidence. What do I do?

I'm 27k in student loan debt, homeless, no job, no savings, two SWE internships on my resume, useless cs bachelor's degree from 2025.

My parents kicked me out when I approached a year post graduation with no job. I wasn't getting any interviews, at all. I was working as a part time barista for $16/hour to bide my time but I abandoned that job when I was kicked out. I'm in a city where rents are 2000+ for closets.

My loans have obviously been defaulted on by now, I don't even have an active phone number for then to contact me with. No money to keep one active with.

I've been staggering, stumbling around gagging on nothing like a drug addict. I had a bike but someone broke the lock on it while I was sleeping outside one night.

Idk what I can do now. Ever since I was kicked out I haven't made any job applications. They never got me anywhere. I haven't eaten anything for a week. I'm too ashamed of myself.

I've been dumpster diving for plastic bottles to resell. I'm... idk. I'm sad. I don't want to wake up anymore.

What more can I even do? "More projects"? That has no value today, especially for literally anything outside of SWE jobs. There's nothing else.

I cheered for Luigi back in the day. I'm contemplating following his example. What do I have to lose, really. Just like my "new grad" status already expired, my life is expired.
