NSFW Question 💭 Why do some people act like being perpetually late is a personality trait?

It's so frustrating when you make plans with someone and they consistently show up 15 20 minutes late. They always have some excuse. It just feels like a lack of respect for other people's time. Why is this such a common thing?

Random Question 💭 Any national food chains that still sell a quality product not ruined by private equity?

It seems like everything these days is being cheapened by these pe firms. Wendy's, Panara, Jersey Mikes, Sonic, Dennys are all on my no go list these days. Multiple bad experiences with food that calling it "edible" would be generous compliment. Any chains still as good as they have always been? The only one I can think of is In-n-Out Burger, which seems to be the same as its always been.

NSFW Question 💭 Both Israel and Saudi Arabia receive US military support. Both are fighting Iranian proxies. Both conflicts have resulted in man-made famines and humanitarian crises. So why does only one make the news?

100,000 Yemini children have died from starvation in ongoing conflicts between Saudi Arabia with US aid against the Houthis with Iranian aid.

The UN printed this report as recently as 22 September 2026

https://news.un.org/en/story/2026/09/1168390

But why doesn't it make headlines in American newspapers? Why does no one talk about the influence of the Saudis over the White House?

For example, a Mississippi police officer shot a toddler, Kohen Wiley, to death as his mother drove away from a store, allegedly having stolen some diapers. He was recently cleared by the state AG's office.

If someone close says that masturbation is healthy and that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, it makes me feel traumatized because I suffer from it hearing someone say something like that makes me feel as though my suffering isn't real

Advice Question 💭 I feel uncomfortable in my skin, I have no pride in myself, in my existence. I have no confidence. What do I do?

I'm 27k in student loan debt, homeless, no job, no savings, two SWE internships on my resume, useless cs bachelor's degree from 2025.

My parents kicked me out when I approached a year post graduation with no job. I wasn't getting any interviews, at all. I was working as a part time barista for $16/hour to bide my time but I abandoned that job when I was kicked out. I'm in a city where rents are 2000+ for closets.

My loans have obviously been defaulted on by now, I don't even have an active phone number for then to contact me with. No money to keep one active with.

I've been staggering, stumbling around gagging on nothing like a drug addict. I had a bike but someone broke the lock on it while I was sleeping outside one night.

Idk what I can do now. Ever since I was kicked out I haven't made any job applications. They never got me anywhere. I haven't eaten anything for a week. I'm too ashamed of myself.

I've been dumpster diving for plastic bottles to resell. I'm... idk. I'm sad. I don't want to wake up anymore.

What more can I even do? "More projects"? That has no value today, especially for literally anything outside of SWE jobs. There's nothing else.

I cheered for Luigi back in the day. I'm contemplating following his example. What do I have to lose, really. Just like my "new grad" status already expired, my life is expired.

Random Question 💭 Why do some people act like the 9-to-5 workday is the only legitimate way to earn a living?

It feels like there's a real stigma against anything outside of the traditional office job, even if someone is working just as hard or even harder as a freelancer, artist, or small business owner. Like, why the automatic dismissal of people who've built their own path?

Random Question 💭 Why do you think the GOP constantly focuses on marginal issues and not actual issues where they can improve lives?

There is a HUGE focus on

  • immigrants and violence, which is objectively counter-productive since they commit violent crimes at a lower rate than citizens.

  • Immigrant voting, which a quick search will show is so rare that it couldn't affect an election for dog-catcher.

  • Trans issues, obviously just a distraction from how hard it is to live in this country right now for various economic reasons.

Why not just pick a real issue that can make a difference and hammer that, seriously?
