Speaking from a male perspective, now i know the purpose of a slip. I for one think slips are overrated.

33

u/grenille 10h ago

It also keeps the dress from going between your legs when you are walking, which is uncomfortable and looks like crap because the dress gets all bunched up and not in a sexy way. Male gaze notwithstanding.

21

u/Jodies-9-inch-leg 10h ago

And it keeps your butt from eating your dress

Ahh, thx for the additional info. I'm learning so much today! And she really does have an amazing voice.

I was today years old (embarrassingly not young) when I learned the purpose of a slip.

Also speaking from a male perspective

Her talent is overshadowed by a sheer dress.

26

u/TheDamned1333 11h ago

There was a song?

7

u/Lonely_Sale9707 10h ago

I don't think so, watched it twice with the volume off.

13

It wasn't for me, I only spotted the sheer dress when I read your comment

12

u/PalpatineForEmperor 11h ago

I figured they complimented each other nicely.

20

u/OkThanks8237 11h ago

Honestly, I was thinking just the opposite. And considering the sheer, that's an impressive voice.

11

u/No_Idea_9436 10h ago

😂 I see pussy everywhere and I didn’t realize dress was see through until you said it.

I disagree, her voice was so amazing I didn’t even notice the dress. I couldn’t figure out why this was a “sipstea” moment.

Honestly the opposite is true. I started watching without sound but once I turned it on... she's got pipes.

39

u/showmeyourchits 10h ago

Against my own pervy self interest, i feel like I have to ask, do people just not realize unlined sheer dresses/skirts require a slip?

28

u/Competitive_Peak_537 10h ago

Slipped her mind

66

u/SmokeySFW 10h ago

Require is a strong word. Do you think she didn't do this intentionally? She knows exactly what she's doing.

I find this WAY hotter and more interesting than if she was just up there in a bikini. I couldn't take my eyes off her.

21

u/lebayo 9h ago

She knows what she's doing. She's trying to succeed in the music industry.

Unfortunately, it takes more than a sheer slip. Maybe some industry pervert will sign her based off this video and get her a songwriter asap

This vocal style is the Starbucks and uggs of Indie music.

16

u/ExistentialPOV 10h ago

no ones asking because of the 'highlight' but, why is she barefooted?

4

u/Just_Another_Jim 10h ago

First thing I thought was get that woman some shoes.

8

u/Conscious-Record2655 10h ago

Lost of musicians perform barefoot on stage. They usually even have their own rugs to stand on.

I legitimately can't see what everyone is talking about am I blind

68

u/Derekduvalle 11h ago

I think it's because you can see her thighs through her dress. Such things tend to send teen boys into a frenzy as you can see.

14

u/masher005 11h ago

r/WtSSTaDaMiT there’s a whole sub about it

Underwear is overrated.

3

u/SoundAndSmoke 9h ago

Are you sure she is not wearing any? Underwear that is not skin colored would draw even more attention to it. That reminds me of a dental assistant a few years ago, who wore a white thong underneath her thin white pants...

5

u/Satanswarboner 11h ago

That dress was the backup plan.

6

u/lemonrock_24 10h ago

Anyone else think of this Friends episode?

5

u/Whole_Mongoose1854 10h ago

I’ve watched it like 10 times and I can’t figure out the question we are all asking

78

u/No_Bingo_Card 11h ago

I got 4 lines in to this and has to turn it off. I fucking hate this style of singing. So inauthentic and ridiculous.

34

u/FriendshipSome8223 9h ago

How can you stand there and say this is inauthentic, when she's singing barefoot??!!

3

u/Ok-Trust-1600 9h ago

I was wondering that too. How can someone sing without shoes???? Mysterious.

13

u/GuildStarfireII 10h ago

Amen. That is not her voice, that is a made up schtick.

9

u/b1sh0p 10h ago

That whiny nasally thing, I hate it too.

6

u/Lowlywoem 9h ago edited 8h ago

It's an irritating affectation. I am reminded of old-timey singers of the 1910s . People didn't actually sound like that but they laid it on thick since it was liked. I think these extreme vocal styles are a bold choice but tie the singer to a very narrow time period.

Edit: typo

7

u/TinyMachine6735 8h ago

I think the word you're looking for is affectation.

13

u/anoraq 9h ago

And she’s very quickly out of tune because of all the embellishments and stylistic stuff, which no translucent wardrobe malfunction can compensate for.

13

u/Pugilophile 10h ago

Is it the "accent"? Not sure what to call that in singing terms.

6

u/jonagold94 9h ago

It's better without the sound

22

u/cromagnonherder 10h ago

You mean the slurring words bad denture sound? The put-on gravel voice? It’s cool when an artist does it once or twice on an album in a very emotional or unexpected way. But every word of every song is just like trying to put frosting on everything you eat. Gets old and unappetizing very quickly. This is my issue with Mumford and sons, of monsters and men or whatever band like that. Mix it with the first lyrics they thought of and it’s cancer.

9

u/Pumpkin_Pie 10h ago

I got distracted by her see through dress

7

u/Outrageous_Act2564 10h ago

Have to agree. The singing was getting in the way of the visual.

3

u/fishyfishyfish1 9h ago

3

u/jadestem 8h ago

Love my wife, but 80% of what she listens to are people doing this kind of singing and I HATE it. Lmao

6

u/lebayo 9h ago

Yeah it's very forced. And the lyrics are terrible.

22

u/Several-County-1808 11h ago

It sounds like she has a nice voice, but I am completely distracted by that fake synthetic singing accent she has adopted where certain vowel sounds are trying to sound like an Adele caricature. Inauthentic is what comes to mind.

11

u/HappyCoincidence 11h ago

I absolutely hate that style of singing. I've went down rabbit holes trying to identify when it actually started, because it wasn't around in the 90s. But it's been around for a while now.
