Speaking from a male perspective, now i know the purpose of a slip. I for one think slips are overrated.

It also keeps the dress from going between your legs when you are walking, which is uncomfortable and looks like crap because the dress gets all bunched up and not in a sexy way. Male gaze notwithstanding.

I dunno man. Seeing a woman sitting demurely on a chair or barstool, legs crossed and just a bit of a lacy slip showing is pretty cool too.
