I've been saying take my strong hand for the last two decades.

280

u/macguini Aug 27 '26

We all have. Typically with a higher pitched voice than normal.

142

u/rob132 Aug 27 '26

The high-pitched voice is mandatory

27

u/yaboyACbreezy Millennial Aug 28 '26

I don't do a higher pitch as much as I say stwong

I've got a friend with a strong hand for real. Hes got a great sense of humor about it. Years ago we worked in a pizza place together, so countless people will never know their food was prepared by it lol

13

u/Historiaaa Aug 27 '26

noooooooooooooo

23

u/deuxcabanons Aug 27 '26

I can't wait until my kids find out why I keep saying "My other hand isn't STRONG enough!"

11

u/SquireSquilliam Aug 27 '26

Some things just stick with us.

5

u/Constant-Affect-5660 Aug 28 '26

It's such a surface level and absurd level of comedy, especially said in his little voice.

My friend, I cannot describe the restraint required to prevent myself from saying "Your mom's an Uber circle"

Bahahaha I was just talking to my mom about buying the kids new backpacks for school and she said i don’t know, why buy them new backpacks. You and your brother would rip the straps off every year. And I said yeah. It was fun to use your backpack as a spinning projectile like nunchucks and hit your friends with it. They don’t let kids have fun anymore so the new backpacks will be fine. She was not impressed

7

u/CrapThatSmilesBack Aug 27 '26

Haha I commented on the jansport post how my mom had 1 from elementary through high school. I got the same and it lasted a year. Fall on my back off the skateboard, throw it across the pavement, definitely spin in it, spin it around…

I don’t know why but we had a phase to of trying to get other peoples’ bags stuck in trees, that couldn’t have helped either.

20

u/carlitospig Xennial Aug 27 '26

The ‘that’s kinda rude’ just made me guffaw. No shit, lil one. Older siblings also always won. It was basically like passing on family and friend bully trauma.

u/CrapThatSmilesBack Aug 27 '26

He’s the eldest and so freaking nice. Shares with his siblings without being told. I’m the eldest and.. well I never sat in the backseat for starters lol (obv as a small kid I did).

Even this summer, kids playing colors in the pool and they went suuuper slow for the slow swimmer so they could still participate though they can’t really swim. No one said anything mean. We would’ve absolutely taken advantage and made them be ‘it’ until they cried growing up.

Maybe.

Been hanging out with this new circle of friends who are early Gen Z. We're ordering food and one of them orders something labeled spicy because he "wants something extra spicy today". Food comes and I kid you not he can only eat one bite before he has to fold. Someone else goes "Oh, not spicy enough?". At this point I can almost see the future (or at least what it would have been like with other friends of mine): We're laying into him for the remainder of the day and years later this will still be brought up regularly. He is never gonna live that one down. But to my surprise spice enjoyer simply says: "Man, don't be like that." and that was that.

Maybe they are kinder souls. And that's a good thing.

6

It's not a Rocky Horror reference at all. David Cross is just making fun of his hand because he's a dick. The butler character is just a stereotype. It's not like he's Tim Curry's "handyman" in this movie either.

7

u/C-H-Addict Aug 27 '26

Get a life being the foundation of my humor is why no one gets my jokes

6

u/Sharessa84 Aug 28 '26

He basically got screwed. Get A Life was one of the most hilarious shows ever but Fox cancelled it too early. Then Cabin Boy could have launched his movie career, but that went up in flames. Him and Adam Resnick wrote it expecting Tim Burton to direct, but Burton bailed on them to make Ed Wood and Resnick had to direct it himself. He'd never directed a movie before (and never did again) and the studio just threw them under the bus and buried the marketing so it never had a chance. Since then he's basically been a C-list comedic actor and he's always underutilized.

Shit talking is a redneck love language. I learned real quick it wasn’t universal when I moved to PNW and everybody just thought I was mean and aggressive. Now I’m back in Nevada and I’m not funny anymore and I’m sad. I used to have a quick wit that made people here laugh and I miss it. I’m just nice now I guess.

This is not a millennial thing. Gen Z and Alpha are both obsessed with roasting each other.

Is anybody going to offer me a chair?

Best seat in the house.

Second best.

Even worse was the big summer family blockbuster movie of 1999, Wild Wild West, in which Will Smith and the villain in a wheelchair exchange racist jokes and hanicap jokes back and forth every time they meet:

“Were you in stomp?” Always got a hard chuckle from me, and did again here in this clip

We grew up on ren and stimpy, courage the cowardly dog, and a whole lot of trauma. Our sense of humor is deeply fucked.

Sequel, but my wife and I still have as a vocal stim, "Cindy, the TV's leaking!"
