Maybe.

Been hanging out with this new circle of friends who are early Gen Z. We're ordering food and one of them orders something labeled spicy because he "wants something extra spicy today". Food comes and I kid you not he can only eat one bite before he has to fold. Someone else goes "Oh, not spicy enough?". At this point I can almost see the future (or at least what it would have been like with other friends of mine): We're laying into him for the remainder of the day and years later this will still be brought up regularly. He is never gonna live that one down. But to my surprise spice enjoyer simply says: "Man, don't be like that." and that was that.

Maybe they are kinder souls. And that's a good thing.

I have a friend who just turned 24 (we met in a game and our group is a mix of millennial, gen z and a cusper or two) and I can vouch that they are not all nicer lol. He is like a male, mildly socially inept, sweaty gamer version of me at his age so we're close and are like siblings. The only thing that stops me from smacking him in the back of the head, then running away, or stops him from doing everything in his power to annoy the absolute shit out of me by doing something like "im not touching youuuu 🙎‍♀️👈" then screaming for mom when I try to punch him, is the fact that he lives in Texas and I live in California.

Our group is super close and we all bully each other relentlessly but any of us would beat someones ass if they were mean to anyone in our group. Only WE are allowed to be mean to each other like REAL friends.
