⚠️Content warning ahead: feces and bodily fluids.⚠️
I’m not sure if this is the best sub for this or if there is a better one. I have been extremely embarrassed about this subject and am unsure of what to do. I am still pretty sick so forgive me if some of this post is a little off as I’m still sleep deprived and wonky.
Tuesday morning around 5am, I woke up on the couch covered in pure liquid, mucous-y diarrhea. I have never been quite so traumatized before. I had been up all night vomiting and diarrhea, usually simultaneously, and was finally able to sleep for about an hour but lost control of my bowels (I still have not much control and have had to start using diapers) and it was all over the couch.
My poor poor husband was the one unfortunately who had to clean it up. He first went in with gloves and cleaned with paper towels and an all purpose cleaner, but then told me he was worried because even though he got the poop out, the smell was still just emanating in the living room. I ended up getting an enzymatic cleaning solution (Biokleen) and he went in with that and doused the couch with it, let it sit and then put a fan near the couch to help it dry. A few hours later, he could still smell it so he drenched it in even more of the Biokleen and used almost the entire bottle.
This horrifically still wasn’t enough. He went and got rubbing alcohol and went in with a cloth and scrubbed the couch down, but this morning he said there is still a faint odor of feces on the couch when he gets his face near the area. We are at our wits end of what to do and I am still too sick to really do much of anything to help. We are worried we may have to get a new couch entirely which we simply cannot afford right now.
Is there anything else we can do at this point to save our couch? Our cushions unfortunately do not come out from the couch so they are attached directly. I really hope there is something else we can do because truly we cannot afford a new couch right now and I have been feeling incredibly awful about all of it and literally would not be able to live with myself if I destroyed our couch because i got sick and couldn’t control my bowels. I’m so upset with myself and I just can’t figure out what to do.
Should we try more Biokleen and just keep dousing it and hope it will eventually get rid of the smell? Do we call a bio-hazard cleaner to help us at this point? i’m sorry if this sounds ridiculous but i’m genuinely just so broken up about this and don’t know what we would do if we had to get rid of our couch.
Thank you for reading and any help is greatly appreciate

Hi there, has anyone used this? It was recommended to me by a coworker for my kitchen drain which often clogs. Yay or nay? It was recommended to her by a plumber.

I have tried icing (in a zip lock bag) and using my nails & tweezers with no luck. The bag has been in storage with this for a month.
I don’t want to be too rough with the fabric given the delicate material with the holes.

Hi all,
I've set out on a mission to clean my filthy tub and so far I've had pretty good results. What I've done is make a paste of two cups of baking soda and one cup of hydrogen peroxide, applied it to my tub, and let it sit for an hour. Then lightly scrub it and rinse. I've done this 5 times already and have made good progress.
But I'm reaching the point where there's diminishing returns on applying the past. Most of what is left comes off when I scratch with my nail, so I know I'm not far off. However, a non scratch brillo pad doesn't really do anything. What can I do at this point to finish the job without ruining the surface of my tub? Thanks!

Hello,
I’m looking for help on cleaning a bunch of curtains I can’t remove. I’m a coach driver and I’ve just been assigned my own coach, the cleaners at my company don’t really do the best job and the curtains all have stains on them.
I’ve tried using fabric cleaning sprays like Fabreeze fabric, pink stuff, dr Beckmann. I’ve tried vinegar/baking soda mix. This has helped lift some of the stains but I dread how long these curtains have been left to sit like this. The photos are of the curtains with the worst stains that I’ve struggled with
my coach doesn’t have plug so I can’t use an upholstery cleaner I’m also based in the UK

Any advice on how to clean the Nutribullet blender jug? Specifically the first picture under the seam between the black blender blade base and the clear plastic of the jug. Food is trapped between 🤢
Googling does not show anything for this jug - only the Nutribullet cup cleaning advice comes up for me.
I've done the usual: soaking and blending with hot water and soap, attempting to remove the base (impossible), scrubbing as best I can with a brush. No luck. I feel disgusted by this and will not use again
Do not recommend this brand

Noticed a couple light patches and I got thinking that maybe the (very) yellow bathroom floor is supposed to be white. How would I best go about tackling this?

I blew a candle way too hard without realising my speaker is just behind it. Wax droplets have settled onto the mesh. How do I clean this 😭😭😭

We don’t even use it because it’s just so far gone. But we really need it to be clean enough to use. What products will actually clean this? A complete remodel is out of the question so I’ll use all the elbow grease I have to.

So please tell me how exactly do I clean this it has a cleaning cycle but I wanna know what I’m doing before I just pour water in and use the clean cycle. TIA

Hi guys! We just bought a house and need to buy all new cleaning supplies. Can you suggest products you swear by? We’ve had a house cleaner but can’t afford it any longer. ☹️ planning on doing a

I moved to something with a wood-similar porcelain, when it gives the light from the outside, everything is stained, I breathe and pass mop... It is not an option to wipe one of those floor cloths that I have to squeeze by hand because I don't have so much time and the house is big. I would like to know if there is any cleaning liquid or tip. Please do not recommend commercial brands because I am from Argentina

In the sink under the lip of the top of counter. It’s the caulking. I’ve tried different bleaching gels that are supposed to stay there. I’ve tried paste making it a paste with baking soda. Things like that. I’ve tried the pink stuff it didn’t work. I don’t like it because I put my head in there to wash my face brush my teeth, obviously, but I can see it when I’m doing those things!

Sometimes I can feel the lumps from these while laying in bed through the bedsheet. Does that also mean my bedsheets are poor quality?

I currently live in the USA Bible Belt. It’s not exactly Australia bug level but ..cardboard and wicker are from the devil. (Ants, flies, teeny beetles, cockroaches, pantry moths) are super common.
But long story short-nothing really should be uncovered. Ziplocks aren’t as good as glass for example.
Today I went to put away my big utensils - think ladles- and I saw sun flies landing on them. I was immediately grossed out.
I need recommendations or something- ideas - on how to keep my tools sanitary (kitchen drawers aren’t enough) without it being a pita.
Any thoughts?

Recently moved into a new studio (a month ago) and the lady that was living here before me had 2 cats. Everytime I walk into the house the atmosphere feels heavy and there’s a very strong cat smell, I don’t know how exactly to describe it.
I scrubbed the whole house down and tried everything but nothing gets rid of the smell, I left windows open for a whole week straight and the ventilation does nothing.
PLEASE HELP ME I CAN BARELY BREATHE IN HERE 😞

I had work done in my bathroom a few months ago where the silicon was redone and some work was done on the ceiling. After that, the silver metal bit that the shower door closes on has this weird look to it and I have not been able to get it off. I circled it because I feel I explained that horribly. Any ideas what it is and how to clean it?

I set reminders on my phone to change AC filters and clean dusty areas. It helps me stay on top of things before they get worse. Such a simple trick, but it's actually pretty useful. does anyone else do this?

So I got the morning to myself and decided to give the grout in my kitchen a long needed scrub with baking soda. It worked really well, took some time to clean up all the dirt I scrubbed from the grout onto the tiles, but overall, I'm happy. But after rinsing, cleaning with floor cleaner, vacuming and mopping the floor with clear water multiple times there is still a grey shadow right next to the grout in some areas. I think it's leftover baking soda mixed with dirt. I scrubbed it again with a sponge and water, I think I used too much produce as it is. But it still won't completely come off. Any tips?
