I came back to WoW for the Forever release and really liked Blizzard’s new quest tracker. It looked great, but I missed some of the QoL features other addons offered.

So I made BetterTracker to add more customization and useful controls while keeping that familiar look and feel. I thought others might appreciate it too, so I wanted to share it.

It keeps Blizzard’s tracker and adds:

• Zone Grouping: Collapsible zone sections, current zone first, and optional auto-collapse for other zones.
• Sorting: Sort by quest level, title, or Blizzard Order, with unfinished or completed quests first.
• Completion Controls: Fade or minimize completed quests and hide finished objectives.
• Zone Previews: Hover over a collapsed zone to see its quests and progress.
• Custom Colors: Choose Blizzard, BetterTracker, or Custom presets, with adjustable colors and text brightness.
• Quick Controls: Expand or collapse zones directly from the tracker, and right-click the Quests header for sorting and settings.

First release is now on CurseForge. I only play WoW Forever, so compatibility with other versions hasn’t been confirmed. Obviously, beta will be over soon, but I will be updating this for the full release.

I created Easy Space Maker (ESM) because I wasn't satisfied with the existing tools for managing your bags when looting with a full inventory! There are other addons that do similar things, many of which are much more lightweight, but I wanted a more feature rich version of those tools for myself. When I showed my friends they told me I should upload the addon to Curse and were very supportive.

The main purpose of this addon is to reduce downtime when your inventory fills up, especially in the early game when bag management is much more critical because... well... you don't have any bags really, haha XD

When your inventory is full, six separate icons will appear next to the loot window. Each icon represents a different category of items:

• Lowest overall value item
• Lowest value junk-quality item
• Lowest value equipment item
• Lowest value food/drink item
• Lowest value crafting material
• Lowest value item that doesn't fall into any of the above categories

This gives you several options right at a glance to quickly throw something out that could be lower value than what you are looting, allowing you to quickly free up space and get back to playing! Gold income and bag space are important! I have also included options for it to work with Auctionator so you can easily see the Auctionator values. I have also laid the foundation for it to display TSM values but until TSM has been released (if/when) I can't confirm it truly functions since TSM is not available for testing in the forever beta.

In addition, there are several protection features in place! You can right-click an item on any of those icons to add it to your session protection list, preventing it from being suggested again until you reload or log out. Later, you can open the full protection list, easily see which items you temporarily protected during the current session, and decide whether you want to add them to your permanent protection list. Temporarily added items always show up at the top of your protect list and are highlighted in blue to make them easy to distinguish!

Customization was one of my biggest priorities when developing this addon. I'm a firm believer that being able to tailor your experience to your own preferences is important! I highly recommend exploring the available options to find what works best for you. My goal is to help reduce the downtime caused by a full inventory so you can get right back into the meat of WoW Forever that much faster!

I'm not a Lua programmer. I have some experience dabbling in languages like GML and working with Unreal Engine, but Lua isn't a language I'm familiar with. Because of that, I used ChatGPT to help me write and develop the addon and before posting here I performed an optimization pass to make sure it was at a quality I felt comfortable with.

Note: a duel is only recorded when a HeadHunter addon user fights in it or is nearby, so some duels are missing. The more players use the addon, the more complete and challenging the rankings get.

Bit of a strange one but thought Id share anyway. This addon adds a template text input to the Quest Log and LFG window. You put your message in that input (or leave default), and then press the horn/broadcast button beside a quest in the log, and it will broadcast a LFG message quickly to multiple channels. For example, clicking on the horn icon beside "Wanted:Hogger" will broadcast "LFG ['Wanted:Hogger']" to multiple channels such as general, LFG etc with the quest details in the inline chat. It works nicely for regular dungeon LFG too.

Use Best in Bags

Stranger again, but probably my favourite addon. It can be complicated at first glance, but its very powerful with alot of different use cases. Essentially, you add items to a table/list. You can then bind a key or create a macro for that table, and depending on what setup you have for the table .ie "use my highest valued food" or "use the food i have the least of" it will use that and update automatically.

i.e you can eat and drink the best priority food/water in one action, and with smart consume you wont waste any food/water if you are at full health/mana.

Advanced Use Cases:

I also use this to :

• Make gear sets and equip them in one keybind or click
• manage trinket usage (like the TrinketMenu addon) - recognises item cds and auto-equips
• Auto add unwanted greens to a list and disenchant with one click - similarly for prospecting, milling etc
• Auto sell list for unwanted items such as Fish Oil or gear types you can use etc
• Add junkboxes to a list for one click lockpicking
• A table/list for click to open items such as clams etc- one button to open
• In Forever, auto add mage scrolls to a table for easy one button dechipering (/cast comprehend scroll /use [item])
• One click hunter pet feeding
• Mount lists with random feature (properly no longer usable in Forever due to mounts being moved to their own UI)
• Rogue poisons list
• and more...

I have some more personal addons that I considered sharing, but it seems like there have been similar but better versions posted by others users, especially since the surge in AI, so I will just leave as is. And yes, AI was used to help make these addons but its hard to avoid these days.

This has been in development for close to 10 years, and at its core, transforms WoW from a traditional tab-targeting MMO into an action-combat game with Reticle Targeting, Click Casting, Mouse Look, and a ton of other features that help push the moment-to-moment gameplay of WoW towards that action-combat vision.

I first made this addon almost two years ago when I saw that the ClassicBestiary addon hadn't received an update since 2023, and have been maintaining it ever since. With the upcoming release of Forever I decided to make a version for this version of the game too. Not all features have been ported over yet but so far it includes:

• Tooltip that displays the abilities an NPC has
• Multiple tooltip display modes
• Ability translations for 8 languages
• Display of an ability mechanic, range, cast time and dispel type (optional)

Forever inherits the same limitations that retail set in place in terms of fetching some information in certain scenarios. An example is NPC data when inside dungeons and raids. Unfortunately there is no way to work around this. To give players an alternative, a new window was added that displays dungeons and raids, along with the NPCs that can be found there.

One of the main issues with WoW as an MMORPG is it's actually somewhat hard to find people to play or group with unless you're doing a dungeon. Level Buddies takes all of the guess work out by allowing you to see other people on the minimap also running the addon who have it active that signal to others they want to group up to level, whether it be for questing or grinding.

You can use the minimap icon or simply type /lb to turn it on and off. It pings your location on the minimap in a hidden chat channel you won't have to see or interact with and this is what allows others to see each other. When you see another player on the minimap, just click on their icon to whisper them and ask to group up. When you're done grouping or don't want to be seen, just use the icon or command again to hide yourself.

Would appreciate anyone testing it with a friend or two in-game. It should be relatively simple.

We wanted to give an update on one last release before the Forever beta ends (but I was slow as hell), we wanted to test a few more things with a bigger audience. Looks like we will have to wait.

Anyways, we’ve updated Emerse and fixed a bunch of the issues you reported to us. Thank you for every one of them, here and on Discord. Glad to hear more feedback and ideas.

What’s new in 0.24

Rated duels, made sturdier (Alpha)

This one thing you can find fun to do at low level while we are waiting for shutdown and We put most of this update into making the ladder as robust as we could.

• Emerse tab integrated into native profile: your rank in the style of the game’s own PvP page, your rating, your place this month and how far (or close) to the next tier.
• The ladder, your PvP profile and that tab now always show the same numbers (we had some issues there).
• Zone Champions show their rating on the world map. Hover the crown for that zone’s top duelists (real bragging rights).
• Additional improvements to make sure feeding is not working.

Achievements

Some are easy. Some will take you the whole season: 25 ladder wins in a row, a 2300 rating, Last Stand (win a battle outnumbered three to one). And more. We are to build more RP-PvP cool stuff.

Battles Tracker

Any world PvP fight with 20 or more players goes into the Annals of War under the name of where it happened, like “The Battle of Tarren Mill”. The next one there becomes “The Second Battle of Tarren Mill”. It keeps your side’s numbers (we will also find the way to make it a bit more diverse), the enemy’s, your kills and who won. This gives us a chance to test some ideas for possible RBG alike fights in near future.

The rest

Raid marks, roles and out-of-range players on the war bars (small bug big help in fights with over 100ppl). Fights from other layers and enemy groups on the world map. A steadier compass for controller players. A smaller download (8 MB). And a lot of fixes from your reports.

Something broke? /panic puts everything back.
