Midrange small Android tablet doesn't exist?
I always seem to stumble on categories with very little choice or options. I expect the rumoured iPad mini refresh to be insanely expensive. So I was looking for some decent android options as an alternative for that specific screen size (more or less 8")
Just the right size for some light reading or stay connected on a short trip.
When you start looking, it's either tablets at the complete low end, which would be atrocious to use, with zero slightly nice features. (samsung A11, Lenovo tab one) or premium Android tablets from Oppo or Xiaomi with china roms (no small tablets of either officially in the European market)
I get it, the customer for a premium feeling small tablet probably doesn't exist. Either parents want the cheapest small tablet for the kids to destroy every six months, or large and premium
Apples iPad mini is probably the only luxurious small offering out there.
However, I think the next one will offer features no one asks for in this kind of device (faceID, 120Hz, Oled, whatever, ...) making it unnecessarily expensive. It should just be a spec/Soc update and call it a day.
