I work in retail & have been for almost 8yrs now. There's this woman who is 24yrs old & she is my colleague. She is the only person who is the youngest. She told me & my colleagues at the store that she has ADHD. There were a couple when she was talking with me & she asked me a question & I responded... Sorta. For example, the other day, she asked me what I am going to wear for Halloween. I started to respond to her & say, "I'm deciding between... Okay." Before I said okay, she started to speak to one of colleagues. She did not acknowledge that she interrupted me. I didn't say anything to he but I thought it was rude of her. Another example: Recently, she was talking to me about something & then walked away as I responded. She did not acknowledge it, again. It was again, rude.
Also, it looks like & sounds like she is bossing me around. I've noticed recently that she asked me to get one of my colleagues while I was doing go-backs. So, she - the ADHD colleague - wasn't doing anything except petting the dog. (It was a slow day) I heard that DHL guy was in the store to pick up a package. While I was walking towards the back stock, her tone sounded like she was telling me to get the package from the back for DHL & I knew what I had to do for that. I didn't need to be told for that.
& She is being very chummy with the manager. It is not an issue with me. I'm noticing it.
I know this is venting. I'm also asking for advice on how to approach both of these situations. Do I talk to the manager? Do I speak to the youngest colleague? What do I say to both or to either one?
Also: where do I post this for one of the subreddit(s)?
