Cool. And we should want people to change for the better. The best accountability is changed behavior.

we should also want people who genuinely believe in what's right, not conveniently changing their beliefs as soon as american public opinion changes.

Is there any other first action than contrition when one has made a mistake? Like, how are people supposed to grow if you don’t let them? I struggle with this too but ultimately it’s not about my ego — it’s about theirs.

Saying sorry or taking accountability for one’s actions that contributed to the problem are a great place to start.
