Hello, this is my 5th animal portrait and the first time i’ve painted their “full” bodies. I painted my own 2 cats and i was quite proud of it and i liked it, until everyone around me said the tabby gray right cat looks completely wrong and just nothing like the real cat at all. I mean i understand what they mean i kinda completely messed up the facial features but still, for my 5th portrait is it really as bad as everyone says it is? Please help

I am currently a massage therapist but I have developing RA and severe carpal tunnel in both hands. I want to get into making a career out of the art I make but I am a little at a loss of how to go about it.

I have always had a deep passion for tattooing, drawing, painting, but the people that were in my life and myself always put making art as a career very out of reach. But I finally want to go all in!!

I want to pursue this as hard as I can, and truly build something. I would love advice from people who have experience and opinions of anyone as well regarding my goal!

From my fresh collection called Nature Neverending.

Did this one a couple years ago, and really liked it.

This one is especially important to me because of the growth it represents. When I first attempted it, I couldn’t finish it. But I took an online course, worked on my weaknesses (color theory and value) for a couple years, and when I revisited this painting it got done without a hitch.

It means a lot when people compliment my color and value work, because I worked hard to understand them, and now I think they’re my strengths. It also means a lot that there are some incredible art teachers willing to share their knowledge. 🥹

Working on some cubist food ideas for my kitchen, I have a loaded baked potato and corn dog. Thoughts for other additions?

How did I do? Critiques on how I can paint better would be highly appreciated.

I painted this photo for my grandmother’s 80th of her bucket trip vacation that we went on a couple months ago. My boyfriend likes it and I like it but I’m worried it looks a little too inexperienced that it’s a corny gift.

I’ve been working on this acrylic piece for a while now and I’ve just felt really frustrated with the blending. I also know the colouring is quite off. Looking for tips on either, how can I make this look a little bit more realistic?

I used to focus mainly on botanical paintings, so I had lots of blue and green paint left over. That’s why I decided to try painting the ocean and put those colours to good use!
