Annoucements/Mod Post 📢 [PROMOTION] GIGABYTE Intel Motherboards + Free AAA Game

Planning an Intel-based PC build?

There's currently a GIGABYTE promotion that gives you a pretty nice bonus for choosing a qualifying GIGABYTE Intel Z890 or B860 motherboard.

Buy an eligible motherboard from Amazon.com during the promotional period and you can claim one free AAA PC game through the Intel Software Advantage Program.

And you get to choose your game:

  • Dying Light: The Beast
  • HITMAN 3
  • Sid Meier's Civilization VII

So the question is:

Which one are you picking?

The motherboard side of the deal covers all GIGABYTE Z890 and B860 motherboards, giving builders plenty of options depending on how they're putting their system together.

GIGABYTE's Z890 and B860 boards are built around Intel Core Ultra desktop processors and include features aimed at both gaming and enthusiast builds, including:

  • DDR5 memory support
  • PCIe 5.0 for graphics and NVMe storage
  • Advanced thermal designs
  • Premium power delivery
  • Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5GbE on select models
  • EZ-Latch features designed to make DIY installation easier

The promotion runs July 1 through December 31, 2026, so there's still plenty of time for anyone planning a new build.

The redemption process is:

1. Purchase an eligible GIGABYTE Z890 or B860 motherboard from Amazon.com.

2. Obtain your Intel Master Key.

3. Sign in or create an Intel Digital Hub account and redeem the key.

4. Choose one of the three available games.

5. Download and play.

One game per qualifying purchase, with additional eligibility and redemption requirements applying. Learn More HERE: https://www.aorus.com/en-us/explore/events/intel-unlock-one-game-2026

But let's make this a PC-building discussion:

If you were building a new Intel gaming PC today, which game would you choose as your freebie — and what CPU/GPU would you pair with the motherboard?

Support 📥 First build boots to 0d error when cold. Immediately restarts fine into Windows. Also, Boot Failure on cold boot after increasing RAM MT/s.

I just built my first PC with the help of a friend who is more knowledgeable than I, and I'm *almost* to what I'd call a success but the two issues in the title have stumped both of us.

Here's the hardware (copy pasted from my order since I don't really know how much of these titles are relevant), all of it is brand new within the last 2 weeks:

  • AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D - Ryzen 7 9000 Series Zen 5 8-Core 5.2 GHz - Socket AM5 120W - AMD Radeon Graphics Desktop Processor - 100-100001084WOF
  • GIGABYTE X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7 AM5 LGA 1718, ATX, DDR5, 4x M.2, PCIe 5.0, USB4, Wi-Fi 7, 2.5GbE LAN, EZ-Latch
  • CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000) Desktop Memory Model CMH32GX5M2E6000C36
  • GIGABYTE Gaming GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 PCI Express 5.0 Graphics Card GV-N5080GAMING OC-16GD
  • CORSAIR RMx Series RM1000x ATX Power Supply - Fully Modular - ATX 3.1 - PCIe 5.1 - Cybenetics Gold - Low-Noise - Japanese Capacitors - 1000 Watts
  • SAMSUNG SSD 9100 PRO 1TB, PCIe 5.0x4 M.2 2280, Seq. Read Speeds Up to 14,800MB/s, Best for AI Computing, Gaming, and Heavy Duty Workstations (MZ- VAP1T0B/AM)

The case is the Phanteks EX5 Max which has a built in AIO cooler for the CPU.

Here's my first issue: When I boot up cold, it immediately (or within 1 second) gives me a motherboard error code of 0d. It will stay there forever if un-messed with. If I reboot by holding down the power button or by just hitting the restart button, it then boots to windows with no issues.

Second issue: When enabling XMP in the BIOS to unlock 6000 MT/s from the RAM (instead of the default 4800) the computer will boot into windows normally from the BIOS. A check ensures that the RAM is at 6000 MT/s. But then, any boot or reboot warm or cold leads to a boot failure, with the only option being to go back to 4800 MT/s.

And here's what we've tried so far:

All drivers updated

Updated the BIOS to version FB2f

Reseated the RAM (They started in slots 2 and 4, and they were reseated in 2 and 4, just in case they weren't fully clicked in)

Tried stepping down the boosted RAM speed from 6000 to 5800, 5600, etc, with the only successful one being the default 4800.

My friend says if we can't fix it, booting twice every time is not the end of the world, nor is having RAM at less than maximum speed. And while he's right, I sure would like this whole thing to just WORK. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated!

TPM2.0

Hallo zusammen,

(Mein Motherboard: GIGABYTE B650 UD AX DDR5 ATX Mainboard S)
AMD fTPM
Pluton-Chip (TPM)
Secure Boot ist aktiviert
Pc neu aufgesetzt
BIOS geupdatet

Support 📥 Z790 AORUS ELITE AX – BIOS update F14 → F16 keeps failing in Gigabyte Control Center

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to update the BIOS on my Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE AX from F14 to F16 through Gigabyte Control Center, but every time I try, the status just shows “Update Fail”. There’s no error code or extra explanation, so I have no idea what’s going wrong.

What I’ve tried so far:

  • Running the update again from GCC (same result every time)

My setup:

  • Motherboard: Z790 AORUS ELITE AX (current BIOS: F14)
  • CPU: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-13700K
  • OS: Windows 11 Home
  • GCC version: Don't know which version I have

Has anyone had the same issue? Is this a known problem with GCC, and is it safer to update through Q-Flash with a USB stick instead? Any tips on what could be causing the failure would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Support 📥 BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL netio.sys While Playing MW4

🎮 **Need Help: Persistent BSOD Crashes While Playing Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare 4 | DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (netio.sys)**

BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL netio.sys

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing a frustrating issue while playing Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare 4, and I'm hoping someone in the community can help me identify the root cause and find a permanent solution.

During gameplay, usually in the middle of a match, my PC suddenly crashes and displays a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) with the following error:

🔴 Stop Code: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

🔴 Faulting File: netio.sys

The most confusing part is that **this BSOD only occurs while playing Modern Warfare 4**. I don't experience the same issue during my other activities, which makes it difficult to determine whether the problem is related to the game, a network driver, Windows 11, or a potential hardware compatibility issue.

### 🖥️ My System & Troubleshooting

✅ Motherboard: GIGABYTE X870E AORUS MASTER X3D ICE

✅ Operating System: Windows 11

✅ Drivers: All drivers are up to date

✅ System Configuration: Everything is running at stock settings, with no CPU or GPU overclocking or other system modifications

⚠️ RAM: XMP is enabled; this is the only non-default setting in my system

I've checked that my system is running with updated drivers, but the issue persists. The crashes make it practically impossible to enjoy the game, as I can barely complete a match without encountering this BSOD.

### 🔍 What I've Tried to Understand

Since the error references `netio.sys`, I'm wondering whether this could be related to the Windows networking stack, a network driver, a third-party network filter, or a game-specific compatibility issue. I'm also considering whether enabling XMP could contribute to system instability, although the problem appears exclusively in Modern Warfare 4.

### 🙏 I'm Looking for Your Help!

Has anyone experienced this exact BSOD while playing Modern Warfare 4?

- Could this be a known game-related issue or a conflict with Windows 11?

- Should I investigate my network adapter drivers or networking software?

- Could XMP instability be responsible, even if the system appears stable elsewhere?

- Are there any recommended troubleshooting steps or known fixes?

I'd especially appreciate advice from anyone with a similar AMD X870E motherboard or a comparable system configuration.

Any suggestions, technical insights, or proven solutions would be greatly appreciated. I genuinely want to get this resolved so I can play without constant crashes.

Thank you in advance to everyone willing to help! 🙏

I made an app that replaces gigabyte control center on a 2023 g5 laptop.

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I got tired of Gigabyte Control Center being heavy and clunky on my 2023 G5 KF, so I made a small replacement called Terabyte

It's one clean window. No install, no background service, nothing starts with Windows. Close the window and it's gone.

What it does

- Custom fan curves for the CPU and GPU fan (with safety limits), or Automatic / Maximum. Its much better and u have a 4 point fan curve.
- CPU modes: Quiet, Entertainment, Performance
- Keyboard backlight colour, brightness and a few effects
- Screen brightness, Caps/Num/Scroll Lock, camera and touchpad on/off
- Themes: Violet (default), Dark, Light, Ember

Not done yet: Win key lock, Fn lock, airplane mode.

Things to know

- Made and used on a 2023 G5 KF (i5-12500H, RTX 4060). Other G5 models might work, but I haven't tried them.
- It talks to the BIOS through Gigabyte's own InsydeDCHU.dll, so the Gigabyte software has to be on the laptop. I can't include that file.
- The exe isn't code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may warn you. The exe only runs a PowerShell script, and the script is included in the download so you can read it. There's also a .bat that runs the script directly if you'd rather not run the exe.
- It's unofficial and it sends commands to the BIOS, so use it at your own risk.
- I built it with help from an AI assistant (Claude).

Download and source: https://github.com/redzodzore/Terabyte/releases/tag/0.2.0

If you try it on another G5 model, please tell me what works and what doesn't. Feedback is welcome. Ja

Sistema: Windows 11 recém-formatado.

Controlador: Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller (VEN_10EC / DEV_8168).

Testei cabos Ethernet diferentes, incluindo CAT 5e e CAT 8, diretamente no roteador.

O Realtek aparece apagado e apresenta Erro 45.

Just updated my bios and now windows can’t access boot device

Motherboard is the z390 aorus master. I was on f11n for years and updated to f13a. I tried to boot with optimized defaults and it didn’t work. I then went through and changed everything non-oc related and checked to make sure everything was set the way I had it before and it still hasn’t worked.

I’ve tried everything I could search for online.

Could my motherboard (B850 Aorus Elite) be damaging my RAM?

Hi everyone,

I've been in a very frustrating situation since early July. I have a few posts with more details for those interested so i will paraphrase here.

One morning, my PC would power but would not POST. Nothing would show up on screen. While troubleshooting, i swapped out the motherboard to my old AM4 one, which meant also using different RAM and CPU. This worked.

In an attempt to isolate the issue, i bought a CPU from Amazon (9800x3d, same that i was using) to see if that was the issue. It wasn't. I then RMA'd my motherboard to Gigabyte. They confirmed they could boot to windows. So i RMA'd my RAM. This is when things get weirder.

The replacement RAM from G.Skill worked. For exactly one evening. The very next day, the same issue reoccurred but i could work around it by removing one of the sticks. This didn't work with the first pair i RMA'd, but it seems G.Skill may have sent me a faulty set as a replacement(?). I kept using my PC on 1 stick of 32gb RAM while i was in contact with GSkill. Then the PC stopped booting altogether before i sent the RAM back again.

I contacted Gigabyte about this to inquire about the possibility that the motherboard has an issue that their troubleshooting may have overlooked if booting to windows is the only requirement to pass their testing. Their reply was simply copy-paste their last email saying the motherboard passed their testing by booting to windows. If they even bothered to read my e-mail, they did not care to address the concern at all and hand waived me away.

Now that i am receiving my 2nd replacement set of RAM tomorrow, i am concerned i may potentially be about to put them back into a potentially unstable motherboard with no recourse available if something happens to this set too. I can't realistically expect G.Skill to keep replacing my very expensive DDR5 memory, but i somehow can't expect Gigabyte to address what i believe is a valid concern regarding their product. Apparently, the only thing i can expect from Gigabyte Support is an insulting copy paste reply.

I guess what i'm asking is how valid is my concern that my B850 Aorus Elite is perhaps damaging my RAM? I do understand i may have just gotten really unlucky with my RAM failing and the replacement being faulty. But let's say i was an employee at serious hardware company, and my job was to investigate an issue with a motherboard under warranty, how would i go about testing for this specific issue without being condescending?

[EDIT] Link to my first post in r/pchelp with a more thorough troubleshooting steps of the issue. https://www.reddit.com/r/pchelp/comments/1wg9b7b/powers_on_but_wont_post/

Ticking/Rattling noise in Aero x16 fans

Just got the laptop this weekend had been using it on my table, today I took the laptop the library and used it on mylap. When I plugged the laptop into the charger it the left fan specially started to rattle/ tick, but is not noticeable when the fans are running high. Is this just something simple like hair or debris in the fan or should I get another unit.

Discussion 💬 Noticed my 4090 has a slightly burned power plug with the original cable. Is it safe to send for warranty due to the gpu market atm?

Just noticed my original cable on my gigabyte 4090 started to char up and was a little stuck when trying to remove the cable. The card runs fine and I've since added a thermal grizzly power monitor to it. Would it be worth risking it to send in for the warranty work? Would gigabyte even attempt to make a fix or just auto scrap it? I have about 4 months left on my warranty right now. I'm just worried they'll "scrap it" and just refund me what I paid for it 2 and a half years ago. I got a steal on it from best buy being open box and getting a check for 1300 usd wouldn't even make a dent on replacing the card.

Other 2 options are to monitor it use new cables or send it to northwest repair or something.

Edit: General consensus is in folks. 3rd party repairs and new cable is the answer. Really sucks that this thread even needed to be created. Really wish manufacturers would take better care of us when it came to this kind of stuff. Looks like gigabyte is off my list for the foreseeable future.

Support 📥 Old gigabyte board stops recognizing the nvme pcie-16x expansion card

This is an old motherboard and it doesn't have an nvme slot, so I have to use an pci expansion card to install an nvme ssd. And it works for years until recently.

I tried a different nvme ssd (Samsung 990), a new expansion card, and a different pciex16 slot, none of them made a difference. Bios doesn't recognize the drives.

Other hard drives are detected fine. What could be the issue?

Discussion 💬 wanted to buy a gigabyte eagle 5070ti but is the thermal putty that bad?

I’ve seen so much about the thermal putty falling out or dripping, and it’s honestly making me hesitant. I don’t vertically mount my GPU, but I’m still worried about whether I should avoid these cards altogether or if they’re actually fine. I’m buying one from a friend who’s had it sitting sealed for a while, and he’s offering me a pretty decent price. Do you think I should go for it or save up for a different model? For those of you who have owned one for a while, what has your experience been like?

Support 📥 My €4,500 GIGABYTE AORUS RTX 5090 MASTER failed. GIGABYTE confirmed it cannot be repaired, the retailer refuses replacement, and GIGABYTE won't help

I purchased a GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 MASTER 32G from PCDIGA, one of Portugal's largest computer hardware retailers, on August 6, 2026, for €4,499.90.

Less than two months later, I was left without a working graphics card. Now both the retailer and GIGABYTE are refusing to help me obtain a replacement.

Here's what happened.

1. Problems with the card

Shortly after installation, I started experiencing intermittent black-screen flickering over DisplayPort. Initially, I suspected a driver or software issue and tried to troubleshoot it myself.

Later, the RGB lighting stopped working entirely, and the GPU's power warning LED started flashing white, indicating a potential power-related fault.

On September 18, I submitted the card to PCDIGA for warranty service.

2. GIGABYTE confirmed that the card was beyond repair

The card was sent to GIGABYTE's authorized service center.

According to the official technical report, repair was not possible.

This was not accidental damage or a problem caused by misuse. The product developed faults during normal use.

3. PCDIGA refuses to replace it

Instead of providing a replacement, PCDIGA issued a credit note for the original purchase price of €4,499.90 and offered a full refund.

Why am I refusing the refund?

Because the price of RTX 5090 cards has increased dramatically since my purchase.

PCDIGA subsequently listed the exact same AORUS RTX 5090 MASTER model for €8,649.90.

That's €4,150 more than I originally paid!

The retailer argues that replacement would be disproportionately expensive because of the increased market price.

In other words, I purchased a flagship graphics card, it failed under warranty, and now I'm expected to pay thousands of euros extra to obtain the same product.

I have formally disputed this decision under Portuguese consumer protection law (Decree-Law 84/2021).

4. GIGABYTE's response was disappointing

I also contacted GIGABYTE directly, provided the documentation, and asked for assistance.

GIGABYTE confirmed that the technical report was issued by its service center.

However, its support team explained that warranty claims are handled by the retailer and that GIGABYTE does not directly intervene in the retailer's replacement or refund decisions.

Essentially, I was told to take it up with PCDIGA.

5. My questions to GIGABYTE

  • If your authorized service center confirms that a €4,500 flagship GPU cannot be repaired, why can't GIGABYTE arrange a replacement through its distribution or service network?
  • Can GIGABYTE supply an equivalent replacement unit to PCDIGA?
  • Why is the customer left caught between the manufacturer and the retailer, with neither willing to provide a working replacement?
  • What kind of after-sales support should customers expect when purchasing one of your most expensive products?

I'm not asking for an upgrade or compensation. I simply want the same working graphics card I originally purchased.

I understand that the retailer has its own legal obligations, and I am pursuing those separately. But I also believe GIGABYTE has a responsibility to support customers when its premium hardware fails and cannot be repaired.

I have kept the purchase invoice, the authorized service center's technical report, PCDIGA's written refusal, and GIGABYTE's response.

GIGABYTE representatives: I would appreciate a public explanation and practical assistance in obtaining a replacement.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with GIGABYTE warranty support in Europe?
