NEW RULE This sub is for people who need help in crypto - Read our rules. Don't post products or services or advertise in r/cryptohelp.

Blatantly advertising crypto products or services in r/cryptohelp is banned now.

This is a new post that we need to make because, in more recent times, people have tried to post about new products or services that are not vetted, inspected, or have zero coverage or known PR presence. In other words, some people are posting about products or services that could be scams to newcomers in r/cryptohelp. As per the title of this post: This is r/cryptohelp. People come here for help figuring out any problems they have encountered while purchasing or investing in cryptocurrency and not buying new coins, buying new products, or subscribing to services.

However, context is important. We explain this below.

  1. If a redditor is looking for some crypto YouTubers that you recommend, you can mention names and that is just fine.
  2. Mentioning of trusted and established brands is just fine. Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Kucoin, etc. in the case of exchanges is ok, and mentioning hardware wallets like ledger, trezor, coldcard, blockstream, etc. is just fine too. However, referral codes are always against the rules. Do not share these in PMs or in comments.
  3. If your post history makes you look like, walk like, and talk like someone that is trying to spam their youtube channel or product or service, you are likely to receive a ban.

Closing words: We are trying to keep everyone safe with our rules. Remember that almost anyone sending you private messages is guaranteed to be a scammer and do not forget to read our expanded rules here which are not just limited to r/cryptocurrency, but also apply here: https://old.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/wiki/expanded_rules

MOD POST This sub is not for investment advice

If you want advice about what to buy or if a specific token or coin is good, go to r/cryptocurrency’s or r/cryptomarkets’ daily discussions. If you don’t have enough karma to participate there you can earn it easily all over Reddit, or on r/cryptocurrency you can buy a special membership to circumvent it.

Thank you for your understanding

❓Question Does buying BTC back in stages make more sense than waiting for one entry?

• Upvotes

Trying to buy BTC back lower leaves me caught between two possibilities: buying too early and watching it fall further, or waiting for a price that never comes. Buying back in stages feels like a reasonable middle ground, as long as each purchase has a clear reason behind it.

I’d start with a smaller buy once a pullback begins to stabilize and keep some USDT in reserve. If BTC drops further, I’d wait for it to find support before adding. If it recovers instead, I’d consider buying more at a higher price once the move looks more convincing.

For now, I place each BTC spot buy manually on bydfi when my entry conditions are met. If BTC climbs before my next entry, I may miss part of the move.

Has buying back in stages helped you manage this uncertainty, or does it leave you with more entry decisions to second-guess?

❓Question I finally started using a crypto debit card instead of selling on exchanges and it changed my routine, anyone else?

My crypto was just numbers on a screen for the longest time. Not because I was diamond handing, I just couldn't deal with the sell/transfer/wait cycle every time I wanted to spend. I got a card a couple months ago and started loading USDC for everyday stuff. Subscriptions, food delivery, random online purchases, etc. The shift surprised me, it actually feels useful now. Does anyone else use a card regularly or do most of you still default to the exchange route?

❓Need Advice 🙏 Who helped you go from studying trading to actually feeling like you knew what you were doing with meme coins

I’ve studied, studied, and studied, but I still feel like I’m missing something. Whether I’m actually missing a piece or it’s just the nerves that come with putting money on the line, I honestly don’t know.
I’ve been taking small trades—$10, $20, $50, sometimes $100. I make money on some, but overall I’m losing more than I’m winning. I’m still not comfortable putting bigger money in, and studying more on my own hasn’t really gotten me past that point.
I’m ready to take the next step with learning. I’d like to find somebody who’s been in my shoes, or a solid Telegram, Discord, or community where I can learn from experienced traders. Somewhere people explain their thinking, talk through trades, and discuss their losses too.
If you were at this stage before, what helped things click? Was it a mentor, a group, reviewing your trades, or something else?
Somebody point me in the right direction. I’m willing to put the work in—I just feel like I could use some guidance from people who remember being where I am.

❓Question Why is trading fee cashback/rebate so much more popular in Southeast Asia/Vietnam compared to Europe?

Hey guys, I recently had a chat with a Business Development manager from a crypto exchange, and they brought up an interesting point. Apparently, the adoption rate of trading fee cashback (rebate) programs is significantly higher among Vietnamese traders compared to European users.

I found this contrast pretty interesting. Is it purely a cultural difference in risk management, or does it come down to high-frequency trading styles and retail volume?

Would love to hear your thoughts or insights on this.

❓Need Advice 🙏 Sent 50 USDC on Solana to a PayPal SOL address — can I recover it?

I sent 50 USDC from Polymarket to the Solana receiving address provided by PayPal when I selected SOL.

The transaction shows as successful on Solscan, but the funds never appeared in my PayPal account. PayPal support told me they couldn't reverse crypto transactions sent to unsupported addresses or networks.

The issue is that I sent USDC on the Solana network instead of SOL.

My questions:

Is it possible for PayPal to recover or return the USDC manually?

Has anyone successfully recovered USDC mistakenly sent to a PayPal SOL address?

Should I keep contacting PayPal, or is there another legitimate recovery option through Polymarket?

I'm hoping to find out if recovery is technically possible and what steps I should take. I don't want to use a recovery service or pay anyone to get the funds back.

Thanks for any advice!

❓Need Advice 🙏 withdrawal on hold in Kraken since October 11

hi all, i very regrettably opened an account on Kraken, got verified the same day, made a test withdrawal of around 100 euro to my Exodus wallet and it's been stuck as Pending ever since. in the email they sent immediately after they said they will review within 7 days, that has not happened. they haven't requested any info, 0 communication. chat within the app doesn't get me anywhere, i'm not getting responses via email, they did respond in DMs on here saying they've "escalated" it but obviously nothing has been done. i'd really like to get my money out, close my account and forget this company exists. does anyone have any suggestions on how i can make this happen? i'm feeling out of options here :(

❓Question I work as a freelancer paid in crypto and I need a crypto card with no kyc to spend it, does anything like this exist?

I do freelance design work. A couple of my clients pay USDC on Solana. It's fast, cheap to receive and better than bank transfers that eat fees and take days. The spending side is the problem. I can't pay my phone bill with a wallet address. I need something that converts crypto to purchasing power without a bank account or full identity verification. Do virtual cards like this exist? Something I can load from a crypto wallet and use for any online payment?

Support Just want to share my frustrating experience with Binance Support regarding my P2P merchant account.

My account was permanently terminated out of nowhere, and when I asked for a proper explanation or justification as a verified P2P merchant, CS Yacoub and the support team just hit me with automated templates saying the decision is 'final and non-reversible' without sharing any details, citing 'government regulations'.
I’ve always operated in full compliance as a simple buyer and seller, yet my account is gone, and they told me I have to wait up to 14 working days (until November 5, 2026) just to get my $1,000 merchant deposit back.
Be careful out there, guys. Centralized platforms can lock you out anytime without a real explanation. Moving strictly to non-custodial workflows and alternative platforms from now on.

❓Need Advice 🙏 What should I learn before trading perps with real money?

I recently started to learn perps. Most beginner content I’ve found focuses on entries, but I’m more concerned about what happens once a trade is open.

A few things I’d like to understand better:

  • How do you size a position based on your stop-loss and the amount you’re willing to lose?
  • What can go wrong with stop orders during a fast move?
  • When do fees and funding become a reason to close a position?

I've practiced through bydfi’s demo trading to get familiar with the basics. Having no real money at stake makes it easier to stay calm, though, so I’m unsure how much that practice will carry over.

What caught you off guard when you moved from demo to live trading? Any advice from people who have traded perps for a long time?

❓Question What happens to an online community when the person who created it disappears?

Thinking about how weirdly dependent most online communities are on one person. Someone creates the server, sets everything up, owns the important accounts and permissions then a few years later they lose interest or just disappear. Even if the community itself is still active everyone else is basically stuck working around infrastructure they never actually controlled. Is every crypto community like this?? I'm not that wise about being a community admin but I never thought crypto groups were this bad

Has anyone seen a community handle this well? Like actually setting things up so ownership/control can move between members instead of everything permanently depending on the original founder?

❓Scam❓ "CrypFine" is a SCAM EXCHANGE!!

I, like many others, trusted this exchange because they are officially partnered with CoinOne, which is one of the biggest exchanges in Korea.

Our trust was betrayed when they started freezing our assets and stealing our money. In my case, they rejected my withdrawal request, and told me I cannot withdraw until I let them take away 1100 of my 2000 USDT balance.

They refuse to explain why. They say it's a violation of their terms, but gave no further detail. They also said "this is the final outcome" and "I cannot fight the decision".

So here I am. 2000 USDT frozen. They say they'll let me withdraw the rest in 2 weeks if I let them steal 1100. I am pursuing legal actions, and if anyone is going through a similar situation, let me know.

TLDR; DO NOT USE "CRYPFINE"

❓Need Advice 🙏 Are my melting Night gone?

I had a Yoroi wallet when I made my Night drop claims (and Glacier mining), then Yoroi changed to SecondFi. I claimed my 1st of 4 drops and was waiting on the second when SecondFi found security issues. SecondFi said migrate your wallet or else. I randomly selected AdaLite since it seemed like what Yoroi was before it became SecondFi. All my held assets moved over just fine. But I have no clue if i can still claim my 3 remaining drops and if so how to do it. If i can figure out what address it was supposed to go to will that help? Thanks for any help.

❓Need Advice 🙏 Raised $480 and I feel stuck.

About 6 months ago I launched a fundraising platform called SendHelp to help people in countries that traditional crowdfunding platforms like gofundme don’t support and pretty much any country that has adopted crypto.

We recently launched our first fundraiser to renovate a classroom in Ghana, to first prove crypto fundraising is a viable product. So far, we’ve raised $480 mostly from telegram communities and a few redditors. but progress has been slow.
I’m trying to figure out what I’m missing. Is it distribution, trust, the way we’re telling the story or something else entirely?
For those who’ve raised money online or built something from scratch, what would you do at this stage? 🥹

❓Scam❓ Help me to identify if Solv Energy cryptocurrency investment is a Scam

Recently I came across a platform called Solv Renewable Energy. It is a solar company that's into cryptocurrency investment the minimum investment is $50 and 20% profit after 24 hours time, funds are invested into Forex trading and you will receive payment once your investment matured. I joined their telegram channel and I did see so many members that really invest and withdraw their profit, they post screenshots as a proof and one member in that channel whom I befriend convinced me to invest he says it's legit and withdraw is guaranteed because of his experience in that platform.

So I did try to invest on it first I registered in the Solv renewable energy website and process kyc activation with no problem it just took me minutes and my kyc is approved then after that I deposited $50 or 70 in usdt in the platform using OKX. On Oct 10 I check my investment, my money really did profit 20% after 24 hours so I earn 10$ then the next day I earn 10$ again and the admin of the TG group message me that I have been selected for a bonus reward of 1300$ of usdt-trc20 because I am registered but the catch is I can only withdraw everything if I will add another 70$ in my account what? So I ask the admin if it's possible to withdraw my investment even if I will not avail the bonus reward because I can't afford the 70$ the only reply to me is due to our mission to serve you better I have been selected bla bla and contact support. And I message the manager about it and ask if they can do anything to remove my reward because I really need money I invested and I can't afford for the 70$ they reply me No i'm not allowed to withdraw if I will not avail the bonus withdrawal is guaranteed. Please help me if this is a scam or Legit platform

❓Need Advice 🙏 Hilfe

Hallo zusammen,

❓Need Advice 🙏 I backtested a rule-based BTC strategy (MACD + KDJ + ATR + Order Blocks) vs weekly DCA, 2022-2026. Costs killed the significance. Looking for critique.

Hi all, my team and I just finished a research paper and I’d really like people with quant, trading, or stats experience to review it and tell us what we got wrong.

WHAT WE TESTED
A rule-based strategy on BTC/USDT 4-hour candles combining MACD momentum, a KDJ entry gate with an adaptive exit, dual-ATR risk sizing (14 and 200), and Smart Money Concepts Order Block detection. We compared it against weekly dollar-cost averaging and lump-sum buy-and-hold from the same $10,000 start.

HOW WE TRIED NOT TO FOOL OURSELVES

  • Rules were set by eye on 2018-2022 charts, then frozen. No optimizer or parameter sweep.
  • Reported window is 2022-2026 (8,767 candles), plus a separate forward test for Jan-Jul 2026.
  • We found and fixed a lookahead bug in two Order Block criteria (it didn’t change the baseline trades).
  • Every number is traced to the function that produced it (Appendix A), and Appendix D lets you recompute the headline figures by hand from the trade log.

RESULTS (INCLUDING THE UNFLATTERING ONES)

  • 27 trades, 70.37% win rate, +30.31% total return, one-sided binomial p = 0.0261. Bootstrap 95% CI on total return: [+5.99%, +54.99%].
  • With a realistic 0.20% round-trip cost, win rate drops to 62.96% and p rises to 0.1239. The significance doesn’t survive, and it hinges on just two marginal trades.
  • Weekly DCA clearly won on final value ($22,313 vs $13,418).
  • The strategy had a higher Sharpe (1.11 vs 0.56) and a shallower drawdown (-6.5% vs -27.9%), but it was in the market only 2.63% of the time, so it’s not like-for-like.
  • Putting 10-30% of weekly contributions into the strategy improved both Sharpe (0.556 to 0.637) and max drawdown (-27.85% to -23.18%). This is descriptive only, no p-value.
  • Forward test: -3.45% over 4 trades.
  • Three trades make up 51.7% of total return, and the edge is concentrated in bull regimes.

WHAT I’D LOVE FEEDBACK ON

  1. Is the train/test separation (visual rule-building, then a frozen test window) defensible, or too weak?
  2. Is a binomial test on win rate plus a percentile bootstrap on 27 trades reasonable, or is there a better approach?
  3. Any flaws in how I handled costs, the Sharpe comparison, or the blended-DCA framing?
  4. Any lookahead or leakage risks I’ve missed?

FULL PAPER (Google Doc, comments open):
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uITFSqdj0iqwA91pXcfSRGGTkWFoQulLYYyRZUcynQw/edit?usp=sharing

Not financial advice. This is a backtest, and the only forward evidence so far is negative. Harsh feedback is welcome. Thanks for reading!
