Discussion AI exclusive subreddits or Subreddits that allow AI should be left alone and respected

Post image
0 Upvotes

Same for only traditional or digital art subreddits, if they don't want AI art there then there's a small room for complaining. If a community wants to only engage with AI art then they should be allowed to do that

Here's an example:

So i saw this post, there's this user who is complaining about another user being banned. But said user who was banned was removed because they suggested to ban AI art in a community that allows AI art. The mods have already made it clear in that subreddit that AI is allowed and no fights about AI is allowed there

So this user is now complaining about someone being banned when the rules were already established. If they have any issue then they should've just found a place where no AI is allowed. Other communities should not change themselves for some people, it should be for all

Anti-AI people seem to have less faith in traditional art than pro-AI people do.

I find it pretty ironic that the people who constantly tell us how superior traditional art is are often the same ones who seem absolutely terrified that AI is going to replace it. Seriously, if you're so convinced that AI art is inferior, soulless, and nowhere near as good as human-made art, then why are you so afraid of it taking over?

That's what I don't get. You keep telling everyone how terrible AI art is, but at the same time, you act like traditional art doesn't stand a chance against it. Doesn't that sound a little contradictory?

The funny thing is, I support AI art, and even I don't have that much confidence in AI completely replacing traditional art. Yet some of the people who hate AI the most seem almost convinced it's going to happen. They apparently have more faith in AI's ability to replace human artists than I do, and I'm supposed to be the pro-AI guy here.

It's almost like they believe traditional art is so easily replaceable that the only way to protect it is to fight against the existence of an alternative.

I mean, you're free to dislike AI art as much as you want, but if you genuinely believe traditional art is that much better, shouldn't you have a little more confidence in it?

Because from where I'm standing, some of the loudest defenders of traditional art seem to have less faith in its future than the people they're arguing against. And I find that pretty hilarious.

I Have Changed My Stance on AI... (Images Unrelated)

I have been thinking about switching for a while now.

and if you know what i mean by switching, i mean i'm pro-ai now.

so why is this? why did i switch to pro-ai?

it's a few things.

- i kinda realized antis confuse ai generated with ai assisted work, often saying that using AI in any way is bad, simply because it's AI, which is circular logic.

- i found myself connecting more and more with AI and also generating my own, as you can see with half the images you can see here.

- i kinda realized, not everything pros say is wrong. some, not all, make some very good points, like the problem with antis who harass artists (i'm not saying all of you do that, but i an saying that it's a problem.

- some (not all) antis use extremist language to try and harbor support (like saying we need to k*** AI, which isn't cool, regardless if AI is alive or not.)

i just want to apologize for all the bad behavior within the anti-ai community, even though it's not my fault and it isn't theirs either. if you don't forgive me, at least i tried.

(the images are unrelated, but it could be related depending on the context.)

Discussion People attacking Luis Moncada on his socials disgust me

Thumbnail

Here's some context: RJ Mitte (known for his role as Walter Jr. in Breaking Bad) recently passed away at just 34. Luis Moncada (known for his role as Marco Salamanca) and RJ were close friends, and as a tribute, Luis made an AI video showing RJ going to heaven.

Even if making an AI tribute might seem like a "boomer" thing to do to some people, it absolutely doesn't give them the right to flood his comment section with insults. Attacking a grieving man over a tool just shows a complete lack of basic human decency in my opinion.

Do anti-AI people really think their ideology is more important than someone grieving the loss of a close friend?

Discussion The problem with Pro Vs Anti debates

Post image
62 Upvotes

This actually happened in my recent post. Very few people read the body text (which was only a couple lines long btw, it wasn't 10 paragraphs long and you only needed to read the first line to understand the context) and they began saying the wrong things, completely misunderstanding the point. I mean if you can't read 1 line of text then idk what to say

I think people here should either read the whole post or ignore it completely because if you ignore the body text and just go on to comment then you bloat up the discussion

I must also add that this is part of the problem, there's many more. I'm only addressing one problem here

(Image unrelated)

its how people use it and their intentions. the only reason i won't like ai is if you use it to basically make stuff with it that has no value (ai brainrot), use it to replace jobs, and for creep stuff. It's about the user, not the machine. I'll hate on ai, but i won't hate if you at least tried to make something meaningful.

im a chud im a chud im a fat little chud!

Discussion Hey, anti ai here, I think we need to talk

Yo, as i said above I am against the use of generative Ai as a method to replace artists. But ill get into my reasons after, first I need to talk

I am sick of this, I wasnt orginally going to share my opinion, but I struggle to even pick a side because it feels like nearly everyone here only cares about being superior, and making "their side" win and be able to say that they are the ones to choose correctly. Theres no discussion, no equal footing. All I see is stepping on eachother and everyone in your way and it sickens me, I may not like ai in terms of creative fields I accept that others do and I belive it is only fair for that to come back to me. But all I see is people calling other people idiots, or chuds, luddites, as if the person on the other side of the screen isn't alive. No catgirls, no ogres I just want to see a real discussion.

With that out of the way, hello, this is yes an alt account because I do not want my main account involved. I am an artist, and while I will not disparage (did i spell that right?) someone for using ai to make art, I cant accept calling them artists, and its not about effort or soul or anything like that. The reason I believe separates people who make ai art and people who draw is love.

I believe that making ai pictures is okay honestly, but it doesnt have the same love for the craft put into it. (I am refering specifically to making an image with ai and then sending it off, when it comes to using ai as a refrence or a start point for concepting and such i think that is artistic, as you put love into the final piece, and sure, you can disagree and I welcome it, let me hear how you feel, but please be respectful to eachother

Im done now, id love to hear what you guys think constitute art, and for antis what you think is the line that separates ai art from physical or digital art.

Thank you, I hope everyone has a good day

Edit: its only been an hour but I think i should clarify a few things

  1. I was worked up seeing all the hate all over this site and made a mistake in not thinking my words through, I am reevaluating ehat I use to separate art from not art,

2.i really didnt meant to come off as rude or putting someone down, i dont think my opinion should matter to most, what matters more than what I think an artist is what the person who made the piece feels

  1. I dont like hurting people and I am very sorry to anyone whom I may have hurt with how I worded things

Discussion why do people get so mad at ai art because its "stealing art"????

humans do the exact same thing, they take inspiration from the things they consume and they produce something inspired by those things, i just really dont get why people hate ai art for it "stealing other peoples art" when humans do the exact same

Discussion The "Talent" Argument

I'm sure we have all seen some variation of this meme 1000 times by now. The argument seems to be that you should either learn to draw or commission an actual artist, not AI.

This confuses me a bit because isn't trading money for art someone else created even *lazier* than using AI to generate it? At least with AI, I am involved in the process and can get out exactly what I want.

You could post the same meme with burning money meant for commissions instead of an unplugged cord meant for AI.

So I guess, according to the "there goes your talent" crowd, we should no longer be paying artists for commissions.

(UPDATE) A new trend is emerging. It seems the issue is not making AI art, it's making it with AI and claiming you made it. That, I can get behind. If I make something with AI, it would be kind of ridiculous to say *I* made it, just like saying I made the food I ordered at a restaurant.

I don't mind people disagreeing with me, that's obviously fine but they clearly framed my post as if it's only supporting Pros when it's neutral, I'm talking about both sides. If people want their exclusive subreddits for only traditional art or only AI art then that should be fine and antis or pros should not infiltrate such communities. I made that clear in my post.

The third post really Describes this situation perfectly

Is AI used in self-defense ok?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We're rapidly approaching a future where everyone could have an AI body-guard. Let's say you had one, and it protected you from a robbery - would that still be a soulful protection from robbery? Or do unusualy large poeple or people skilled in the mysterious ways of martial arts an self defense deserve to have their jobs protected from soulless robot protectors?

Personally I see it as something like having a Cane Corso. Maybe not everybody should be the owner of it but if they can mange to deal with it's hallucinations it could be a good, if not soulless, form of self protection. Plus professional athletes could probably expect them to keep their secrets fairly well if the models running them are local.

I hate ai

Seriously.

I need to talk to my healthcare provider to about the new work requirements. And needed to talk to a real person. Because my case is quite complex. Full of non-epileptic seizures and college that is only open for 4 days a week. Something ai can't answer.

But all i got was ai prompting menus that made me dial numbers instead of speak to a representative

And I got zero answers.

I tried multiple other numbers that are linked to the healthcare program. All ai

And there was no "speak to represenative" option

And on the rare cases i didn't get ai, the representative sent me to the numbers that were ai

I then went to the chatbot, only ai. Showing the same numbers i did before.

So now, i have no information if i qualify or not. And VERY possibly might lose my health insurance now.

You know instead of hiring actual people, lets us Ai. People might NEED to speak to a real person, but hey, they don't need to live anyways

F*ck Ai

Most of the world is either AI neutral or Pro AI. Now I don't say this as in "Antis, we have you surrounded. Give up" Or anything like that. Y'all are entitled to your opinion, see it how you want to see it but running from the truth is not healthy or easy.

AI is going to get very popular in the future, even more than now. If not in art then in medicine or labour and other fields
