Our country is being run by traitors and con men. We need Nuremberg style trials after they are out of power.

Edit: This is my first comment to blow up this hard. Thanks all for the awards!

The french youth setting fire and looting innocent peoples businesses or the french youth that’s engaged in legal politics? If its the latter, why just the french youth?

How do the Americans on this website fall for this crap? Y'all will rage at the president lying about protests/riots but buy it fully if it's some other country's narrative.

Can you elaborate? Is it fake/exaggerated somehow?

France halts use of stun grenades after boy's hand blown off in student protests

French police accused over war-like injuries to teenagers in school protests

They want you talking about the looters so you aren't talking about the police violence, or what the protests are about. These protests were happening for weeks before the looting conversation took over. Yes the looting is happening but it's not what is important. It's red meat. Jingling keys. Add in nationalist racism/anti-immigration and we are now entirely off subject.

We just saw this at American colleges. Minneapolis. Stop believing the people telling you what is on fire, they want you scared, panicked, and unthinking.

Isn't it interesting that defending small business is suddenly the rally cry when, in all reality, we have spent ages discussing how no one patrons them enough. Nice to know people "care" when there is a narrative to push.

What narrative? Not wanting pure anarchy and actually defending that people respect the common persons livelihood?

2

u/GeoisGeo 11h ago

No, it's an attempt to degrade the reasons for the protest in the first place or do some not so subtle immigration rage baiting.

2

u/VikingLiking 11h ago

Nope, its a reflection of reality instead of hiding the truth behind the slogan ”the protest was for better living standards”. If its was for better living standards, why vandalize and loot whats building a better life for every french citizen?

1

u/Florac 9h ago

The truth is that the vast majority of protestors weren't rioting.

This us how it always goes, thousands protests, a few riot, the few are used to dismiss the entire movement

1

u/VikingLiking 6h ago

Sure, but the rest of the protesters did zero to try and stop the looting. If you are in the same group, marching for the same cause, you get judged the same.

the hague

u/Puzzle-Necked 13h ago

That would be a hilarious workaround the Supreme Court and Presidential pardons.

"We're powerless to stop you... But we joined the Hague, get em!"

Dont pin this on the ICC that they dont even recognize.

39

u/Hot_College_1343 13h ago

The ICC is the only thing that keeps them up at night as they have the Supreme Court in their back pocket.

u/Worldly-Dog-8078 12h ago

Aaaber sie erkennen ihn nicht an und daher wird alles nur Papier sein, weil eine Auslieferung ist so unwahrscheinlich wie die Hölle einfriert.

1

u/Allegorist 11h ago

I'm not sure if you understand, the not recognizing is the point. The idea is that there may be lower barriers to starting to recognize and follow the ICC rather than try to push through prosecution here where they are able to set up roadblocks like presidential "immunity", stacking the courts, preemptive pardons, etc.

1

u/TurnFriendly8892 9h ago

Bottomline ICC cant do shit

1

u/Allegorist 6h ago

The countries in the ICC can though, and the point is that if the US joined the ICC, there would be a mechanism to prosecute them through that infrastructure instead of having to slog through a broken US judicial system.

1

u/TurnFriendly8892 4h ago

The if is the problem, even Barack Obama didnt want to join. So the chances are really slim here. I do get your point, I dont think they will ever commit. Or maybe they do as a failsave for another corrupt president?
