Are you someone who currently has or previously had an IUD? Do you have a story to tell about your IUD insertion?

My name is Eleanor Miller, and I'm currently a second year medical student (OMS-II) at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Denver, Colorado.

I am conducting research on IUD insertion, and would love your participation! Your anonymous survey response will be included in a narrative literature review in order to expand academic and public discourse around an under-researched area: IUD Procedure Pain and Perspectives.

As someone pursuing a career in OB/GYN who has their own experience with IUD insertion, I appreciate each and every story there is to tell. We have had hundreds of responses already, and would love to gather as many perspectives as possible!

So, follow the link below or scan the QR code to fill out a response! It should take less than 10 minutes. If anyone has any questions, please reach out! Also, feel free to share the flyer or link with others who qualify!

I am grateful for your participation,

Student Doctor Eleanor Miller

Academic [Academic] Experiences of Closeted Men (Men attracted to men who have not disclosed their attraction, 18+)

Hi everyone,

I’m a doctoral student in clinical psychology, and I’ve become increasingly interested in understanding the experiences of men who are attracted to other men but keep that part of their lives private.
Much of the conversation around being closeted focuses on coming out, but I’m particularly interested in understanding the experiences of men who haven’t, and what navigating that part of their lives looks like.
I’m currently conducting a research project titled Interviews With Men Negotiating Their Identity and am looking for men willing to share their experiences through a confidential 45–60 minute interview.
My hope is to give a voice to experiences that aren’t always represented or understood.
If you’re interested in participating or learning more, please feel free to message me privately. I’d really appreciate hearing from you and making this work!

Casual [Casual] How would you have voted on 10 bills Congress actually voted on? Then see how your own senators and House rep voted on the same ones (US residents, 18+)

Full disclosure first: I built this. It's free, no ads, no sign-up, and nothing you answer leaves your browser.

You get 10 recent real roll-call votes, one at a time, as plain yes/no questions ("Ban members of Congress and their spouses from buying company stocks?" is one of them). Answer, enter your ZIP, and you see how your two senators and your House member voted on those exact bills and your match % with each. About 2 minutes.

https://www.thecivora.com/vote-match?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=samplesize

US only, since it needs a ZIP to find your members. If you're elsewhere, the 15-question quiz on the site matches anyone against all 535 members.

Last time I posted the longer policy quiz here, your feedback changed how it works (skipping a question and the "how much does this matter to you" setting both came from this sub). So, same ask: did your match surprise you, and what was confusing or broken? I'll fix what you find and reply to everyone.

Academic (Repost) [Academic] [Repost] English naturalness judgments in conversation (Native English speakers)

Hi everyone!

I'm a graduate student in Japan conducting research in English linguistics, and I'm still looking for native speakers of English to participate in my study.

The study examines how natural different English expressions sound in short conversational contexts.

Survey links:

Part 3:
https://forms.gle/jKN5qR8axNDpNzad7

Part 2:
https://forms.gle/AiqbtoncW6DKyYkK7

Part 1:
https://forms.gle/1sVwzMvkhSojeTjx5

Estimated time: Approximately 10–15 minutes per part, excluding optional written comments.

You may complete one, two, or all three parts. Each part can be completed independently, and you don't need to take them in numerical order.

I would particularly appreciate responses to Part 3 at the moment, but all three parts need participants, and any contribution would be very helpful.

You'll read short conversations and judge how natural different English expressions sound. You can also leave comments explaining your judgments.

No knowledge of linguistics or formal grammar is required. Please answer according to your own intuition as a native English speaker.

If you completed an earlier version of my surveys, you're welcome to participate in these current questionnaires as well. Please complete each current questionnaire only once.

Participation is voluntary, and responses will be anonymized and used for academic research.

Thank you very much for your time and help!

Marketing Everyday Challenges of Living With Chronic Illness, Chronic Pain, or Visible and Invisible Disabilities (18+)

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm doing some independent research to better understand the everyday challenges people living with chronic illness, chronic pain, or disabilities, whether visible or invisible, face. I want to hear directly from people about their experiences, what they struggle with, what they miss being able to do, and what they've tried that hasn't worked for them.

I'm also interested in knowing what people wish was available to make everyday life a little easier, more enjoyable, or help them maintain their independence. I'm exploring the possibility of creating a product or service in the future, but I'm still in the early stages. Before making any decisions, I want to hear from people about what they actually need rather than make assumptions.

Whether your condition or disability is visible, invisible, or fluctuates from day to day, your experiences matter, and I'd appreciate hearing from you. The survey is anonymous, takes approximately 5–8 minutes, and doesn't ask for your name, email address, diagnosis, or personal medical information. All questions after the initial age and consent question are optional.

If you're 18 or older and would like to participate, I'd really appreciate you taking a few minutes to share your thoughts.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I really appreciate it!

Academic [Academic] Online survey exploring the relationship between embodiment, wellbeing, and life satisfaction (18+ Nonbinary and Transgender People)

Hi everyone!

I am a PhD student looking to invite you to participate in my research project. The research aims to explore the relationship between embodiment (how we inhabit our bodies), wellbeing, and life satisfaction in nonbinary and transgender individuals. It also aims to understand how intersecting identities (gender, age, ethnicity, neurodivergence, and disabilities) may also relate to these constructs, to better develop a more holistic and nuanced understanding of nonbinary and transgender experiences of embodiment.

Participation in the study will involve completing an online survey. This should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

This survey is open worldwide to anyone who is nonbinary and/or transgender, aged 18+, and understands written English.

Participation is entirely voluntary. The survey results will be anonymous, as participants will be asked to create a unique identification code before beginning the survey. You are within your rights to stop participating in the survey at any time or to take a break in answering the survey.

If you would like to participate in this survey, please click the following link: https://bcu.questionpro.eu/embodiment1

This project has received ethical approval from Birmingham City University’s Research Ethics Committee (ethical approval code: Sheppard /#16536 /sub2 /R(4/B) /2026 /Sep /SGREIC - HLS).

Thank you in advance!

Academic What's the worst part about being forced to ship AI features? (Software Engineers)

I'm a grad student at ASU researching how teams test AI features (LLMs, agents, ML models) before they ship. I'm just trying to understand what this actually looks like on real teams, beyond what the blog posts say.

If you build, test, approve, or security-review AI features, I'd love to hear a story or two. I'm most curious about the last time you shipped one: what did you actually check before calling it ready? And when something broke after a model, prompt, or data change, how did you find out, and how long did it take to figure out why? Could you reproduce it easily, or did you need the live system?

I'm also interested in the stuff around the edges, like homegrown scripts and how much time they take to keep working, or times someone shipped past a failing check and who made that call. If you've been on the security or vendor review side, I'd love to know what gets a tool approved quickly and what gets it rejected.

Even a couple of sentences would help a lot. Reply here or DM me, whichever's easier. Thank you!
