" I might be bisexual, but it's a little too late" that being said with the straight face and grayscale killed me 🤣

I was cracking up so hard.

But on a more serious note: we’re not too old for anything. Wear some forever 21 and carry that loose debbie card while you go clubbing exploring being bi if you want. Just be nice to your knees/backs, spend time with your aging family and be a good parent if you go that route.

My ex-husband went to Ibiza to see the total eclipse back in August. His summary upon return? "I took a pill in Ibiza; it was an Advil."

No ibuprofen! My dad got kidney disease from taking it.

I have managed to move away from NSAIDs to cannabis oil. 28 years of taking them for endometriosis means its probably too late for my kidneys now.

Sorry that happened to your Dad.

Same with me and ibuprofen. I wish they hadn’t told me to take 800 mg on cooldown when my period was 20 days out of 28 (10 for every 14). Now I take Prilosec every day and have ulcers.

Headache? Cool, it’ll be around long enough to help me with rent.

It’s extraordinarily not fair that some women have to deal with that. Some women are like spot bleeding for two days with two medium days and others are bleeding often enough with a large amount that they could basically attract a daft vampire 150 miles away.

Yah I saw a video where a doctor who used to work for the government said that if ibuprofen was in the approval process today, it wouldn’t be approved. It turns out we don’t know everything about it. But it was approved in the 1950s and is basically grandfathered in.

I think the it being too late part refers to people discovering this after already being married.

Or even just the dating pool drying up. All the good ones are taken, coming out of long term relationships, bounce from relationship to relationship, or come with kids

Sucks in your mid 30s, especially when you actually notice the attention you get because you're old enough to tell but it's all age inappropriate.

I think the implication is that she's already married/in a commited relationship.

If it's any consolation, I'm in my forties now and most of my friends are divorced.

Been married over 15 years now, didn't clock the Bi until between years 5 and 10? She knew she was before she met me though. I mean, from a "conventional" standpoint, she can still help me with that, but not much I can do for that with her. Good thing we still love each other and have a lot more we see in each other than just sexual things.

A lot of these midlife aches and pains can be prevented by like mild regular exercise

Clubs are designed to keep out people in their 30s or older. Loud, lots of alcohol, late, limited seating. You can do it, plenty do, but there's a reason they are how they are and older people find themselves pushed away from them.

u/PlanesandAquariums Sep 14 '26

There’s a noticeable amount of older people at clubs. Maybe not the underground popup rave type of scene but there’s always a heft amount of all ages. You’ll even catch the occasional groups of people who look like retirees that have bought a bottle and get a table.

Yeah depends on the club but definitely still happens, especially in larger cities. I have an older cousin in his 50s whose motto is "I will never stop clubbing, I just now require a place to sit down." He sure does get a table every time he goes.
