Meta UPDATE to Rule 10: Price Policing - Feedback welcome

Hi all,

Attempting to bridge the gap between price policing posts that add no real value and just derail threads, while still allowing the community to provide insight so that newcomers don't get taken advantage of by, while also providing motivated sellers a genuine opportunity to adjust the pricing based on current markets.

I have modified the wording for Rule 10 to what is shown below, and welcome any and all feedback to this change.

Above All: Don't be a jerk. Starting slap-fights in comments, calling people names, using any kind of slur will result in a ban. 

Don't publicly price police as it derails threads, you may not agree with the $ threshold and that's ok. Just downvote and move on, they will get the hint.

You MAY share **very similar or better alternatives** if they are actually available in stock. i.e.: Post selling used 32GB DDR5-5600-C40 kit for $900? Amazon has 32GB 6000C30 stock for $600+tax? Share the link.

The picture he sent me of his Odin 2 Portal contained the name of another scammer u/vgerber89. He used AI to make a fake timestamp on his picture.

Just want to warn others against this guy. Etransfer shows his name is Ian Madden (no I did not send him money).

Condition notes: One stuck pixel (red, upper right side by cursor in timestamp photo) and 3 scratches from cleaning (Two light, one extremely faint). No visible burn in

The two main scratches are mainly visible when the screen is very dark with a lit room and light wall behind. In a dark room they aren't visible

Has a little under 3 years left of the transferable warranty at Best Buy until 09/08/2029, covering burn in, dead pixels, untimely death, etc but not physical damage

My son wants to play in some Fortnite tournaments and my current desktop (i7-2600K) is too old to support Fortnite's anti-cheat requirements for tournaments, namely (a) secure boot, (b) TPM, and (c) IOMMU (Intel VT-d). I'm looking for motherboard, CPU, and RAM (16GB+ should be fine) that would meet those requirements and allow him to participate in tournaments. I've been out of the hardware loop for a while (obviously) and my preference is Intel but that is mainly out of relative familiarity with Intel and general obliviousness on the AMD/Ryzen side of things, though I wouldn't rule it out. It seems like 8th gen Intel may suffice if the motherboard platform supports the above listed requirements, but that the 10th gen+ would be more likely to meet all the needs.

I'm not sure what cost of the above would be, and obviously would change with what generation it is, etc. Hoping to be around the $400 mark, of which he will be paying half. If I'm way out to lunch on that let me know so that I can let him know.

Reposting at lower price given there are some great monitors at low prices these days.

Monitor has had moderate usage (I worked from home from 2020-2024). I just upgraded to an OLED main display so selling this. It has a decent set of integrated speakers and includes the remote. The stand is not great (just up/down tilt). I had it on a monitor arm. Always used lower brightness (under 50/100, usually ~ 25). This monitor should still have many great years ahead of it.

Dell Venue 11 PRO-7140 Intel Core M5Y71, 8gb LPDDR 3 1600mhz, 256gb SSD, touchscreen, tablet PC, keyboard case with battery extender (due to its age, battery isn't great), folio case as well as keyboard folio case. The battery lasts about 4 hours with the extender. I have it since 2017, so there's a sentimental value to it. It was lately my PiHole, Hermes, Home Assistant under Ubuntu/CasaOS.
