Need help on first build for Streaming and Gaming!

This would be my first gaming PC ever, so I really appreciate any help.

New build or upgrade?
New build.

Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
Just my old storage drives: 1TB Samsung SSD (would like to reuse as a secondary drive) + 1TB HDD + 2TB HDD for bulk storage. Everything else is new.

PC purpose? (Gaming/Streaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
AAA gaming at 4K (MapleStory, GTA 6 when the PC version releases, COD MW4, and other AAA titles), streaming while gaming, plus local AI model development on the side — so I need an NVIDIA card (CUDA) with as much VRAM as I can get.

Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
USA. Yes — near the Micro Center in Santa Clara, CA, so in-store bundles and deals are on the table.

Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Yes — one 4K monitor, 27" or 32", ideally 144Hz+ IPS. Separate budget from the $1500 tower: around $200–300 for the display.

Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
Around $1500 for the tower, before tax. Hoping to stay close to that after CA tax.

WiFi or wired connection?
WiFi — on wireless at home, so the motherboard needs built-in WiFi. Have ethernet too

Size/noise constraints?
Mid-tower ATX is fine. Would prefer it reasonably quiet, but it's not a hard requirement.

Color/lighting preferences?
Don't care about RGB or glass. Function over looks.

Any other specific needs?

  • 16GB VRAM minimum — this is the big one, for both 4K and AI work.
  • 32GB DDR5, 1TB NVMe (in addition to my reused drives), and a quality 750W-ish PSU is my rough thinking, but I'm open to being corrected.
  • Open to any suggestions

Help me build a good gaming PC!

Hey all, I'm looking to finally upgrade my decade+ machine. It's on its last legs and I need to get started on the process.

These are my biggest requirements:

  • High-end gaming (okay, maybe medium to high). I haven't been able to play modern games for a while so it's kind of a big thing for me. I am not interested in 4K but I want a machine capable of playing any new AAA titles at 60+ fps at 1440p. Ideally a solid 80-90fps if possible since I know a lot of games have dips sometimes.

  • Future-proofing. With how component pricing has been going recently, I want something that I will not need to update for a long while.

  • Case with space for physical drives. I kind of just want to lift and shift the stuff from my current setup into the new one. Or alternatively, a recommendation for a cheap NAS/HD enclosure I could use instead.

That's pretty much it, I'll try to add more if I can think of anything.

I don't really care for fancy LEDs, etc., just want a solid system with good airflow that will last me a while. My budget is ~$2000 but I can go up a tiny bit if needed, I am willing to splurge a little to build a good PC. I live in the US so I have access to Newegg, Microcenter, etc.

Thanks a bunch! (I couldn't see an option to add a flair, I tried on both old and new reddit)

Tiny living room TV PC (Canada)

Hi everyone! I’m looking to build a brand new PC for my living room TV setup using only new parts. Since it's going next to the TV, I have strict requirements regarding size, noise, and dust management. The TV is 1080p 60hz. Also power consumption and efficiency isn't something I care about.

---

Here is what I am looking for:

Performance: Around an RTX 3050 tier is fine, but I'm open to higher performance if it makes sense for other requirements or longevity.

Form Factor: Tiny (30L or less).

Case & Dust Management: No glass side panel (I want a stealthy look for the living room). Dust filters on every single opening. This is a must so I don't have to clean it out every week in a living room environment.

Noise: Must be moderately quiet, even under full load.

OS: Fully compatible with Linux distros like SteamOS or Bazzite (so good driver support out of the box).

Location: Canada (please keep CAD pricing and websites in mind)

Budget: Flexible, I can go up to $5k+ CAD if necessary, but my goal is to spend the least amount possible while fully meeting these requirements.

---

Thank you to everyone that will help!

Pc building help

Hello everyone, like many I want to build a pc. I don’t trust myself as much as to pick out the parts myself and I’m scared I will get parts that don’t mesh with each other.

My budget is 1000-1400 and I would like a solid rig that would allow me to play games on med - high while maintaining good fps.

I don’t really know much about pc parts or pcs in general, but if the build would at least have 16gb of ram, idk how important gbs are on a graphics card, so ideally just a good graphics card and cpu would be nice. I also don’t have Ethernet, so I guess something that would allow me to connect to WiFi too.

Just a good rig overall that won’t cause me too many issues an

US / >$1400 Is €1200 good for a PC that runs 144hz 1440p?

And how much would it cost to upgrade to 4k gaming once i have enough money? Is it even necessary? Im really someone that wants the game to look good so i feel like it is, and would a PC run 144hz stable for €1200 or would it struggle alot (or rarely) when playing AAA games? Im on a strict budget since i dont make alot (i dont work alot either lol) i go to school so

Debating whether my PC needs an urgent upgrade

Hey guys,

as the title suggests, I'm debating if I need to upgrade my PC urgently, or at least in the near future. It was bought in Nov 2021, so about 5 years ago, and it was already a budget PC back in the day, so nowadays it's regressed even more. It's my first PC and i built it myself so it holds an special place in my heart, but i feel like it's reaching the end of its time.

The specs are as follows:

CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard MSI MAG B550M BAZOOKA Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Storage Western Digital Green 240 GB M.2-2280 SATA Solid State Drive
Storage Crucial P5 Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
Video Card PowerColor AXRX 5700XT 8GBD6-3DH Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Video Card
Case Corsair 275R Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply Thermaltake TR2 S 700 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply

I usually play quite demanding games, like Football Manager, Zelda TOTK in emulator, 007 First Light (although with this title, the PC goes a bit crazy), Forza Horizon 6, Skyrim Oblivion Remastered. I usually multitask or code as well. Ideally I'd love to play GTA VI when it comes out for PC next year but it'd be impossible in this build.

I'd appreciate your suggestions on if I need to upgrade some parts or the whole build altogether. Either way, I would prefer to spend less than 1600/1700 euros (I'm based in Spain) in a new build if it comes to it, acknowledging its difficulty nowadays.

Thanks a lot!

Since theses are the kind of used builds I found online and I struggle to beat for 600. Living in England and i just want to play modded games like cyberpunk on high setting with high frames and play games that come out in the future at a reasonable level. Cheers

Pc upgrade 21st

Hi all, just bought I’d stick this here to see what the community have to say about my proposed pc build, I’m doing a fairing significant upgrade my previous build that I did before lockdown was:
Del optiplex 790 with inbuilt CPU and motherboard
Radeon Rx 580 sapphire
Corsair 500w PSU
Crucial 50GB SSD
Some more Hard drives
16GB DDR3 RAM

I’m upgrading my computer for my 21st with some help from some family members, I want this thing to last as long as possible. Its primary use is probably for gaming and some general stuff, I do some basic admin and that’s about it - but it would be great to actually be able to run games (Overwatch etc). Here’s my proposed build:

Montech AIR 903 MAXmiditower
AMD RX 9070 XT
AMD Ryzen 5 9600x
AS rock B650 PG lightning
Corsair 750W PSU (already own)
Thermaright assassin X 120R ARGB
32GB of DDR5 💀(either Corsair of Palicomp)
1-2TB of SSD or fast storage

I think this is gonna cost me around £1600-1700 so I’m weighing up getting a prebuilt, any opinion would be greatly appreciated!

Need help building PC!!! (noob)

I’m new to the whole gaming pc universe, but I’ve heard and watched a couple of videos of pc builds to become familiar with the concepts. I was thinking about buying a prebuilt pc off of Newegg, but I’m not sure if just building one from scratch would be cheaper and easier to switch out parts.

I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could list any parts and products that would be good for someone who’s new to gaming and would probably only play the sims 4 and minecraft!! THANK YOU

Edit: BUDGET IS ANYTHING BELOW $1200!

¿Qué me recomiendan ponerle?

If I buy the parts, where should I go to have them assembled in Berlin?

It’ll take me about three years to save up the money, so I’m hoping prices will change in my favor! I don’t know much about hardware, but I’ve managed to put together this list:

1× AMD Ryzen 9 9950X (16x 4.3 GHz / 5.7 GHz Turbo) (101831)

1x Thermal Grizzly Grizzly PhaseSheet PTM Wärmeleitpad (102667)

1× Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 (102885)

1x 16 GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 beliebiger Hersteller (102123)

1x Grafikkarte nicht eingebaut für höhere Transportsicherheit (100460)

1× Gigabyte X870 AORUS Elite WIFI7 (102830)

1× 64 GB (2x 32 GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL30 Kingston Fury Beast RGB - Weiß (101728)

1× 2 TB Kingston KC3000 NVMe PCle 4.0 (L: 7000 MB/s; S 7000 MB/s) (100909)

1× be quiet! Silent Base 802 (35900)

1× 1000W Seasonic Focus GX - 80 Plus Gold - ATX 3.1- Grau (36019)

Why do I need such a beast? I’m a creative person, and I’m making my own 3D animated series! Right now it looks like a cheap indie game, but at least I’ve learned how to model and animate 😂 Unfortunately, on this underpowered PC, I haven’t been able to experience the joy of particle generation, cloth and hair physics, and other fun features! So I don’t want to overpay, but I also don’t want to hit a hardware ceiling. Do I really need such a beast? I want to create studio-quality animation! If you think this is overkill, please let me know what I should get instead! Also, please tell me where in Berlin I can have a computer built so that no one steals my parts, swaps them out for cheap ones, and assembles it right in front of me? Ideally, with Windows pre-installed!
