A good chunk of my KVJr collection with a special highlight on Utopia 14 and the audio collection of Kurt reading selections. Looooooooove hearing him read his works. Very satisfying.

Found the Vonnegut section of one of my school’s libraries. How will you rate it out of ten?

Thought you all might like to meet my good buddy Kurt Vonnecat, author of such esteemed classics of feline literature as Purrer Piano and Clawterhouse-Five

I've read all his novels, all his essays and non-fiction at least two or three times. I love them all (of course I've got my favorite). But I can't finish Player Piano. I've tried several times, and every time I get bored after 40 pages. What is wrong with me?

I’m pretty sure I’ve read all these over the last 25 years (except for Conversations With and Look at the Birdie).
Is there an order I should read these?
Just go on vibes?
Any books missing I just have to add?
Thanks y’all!

Did anyone else think this? I felt like themeta treatmenthad a lot of Vonnegut energy, plus the themes of the film and dialogues also seemed influenced by Vonneguts dry humour and his humanity. Of course a lot of other cinematic influences were there, but i remember thinking a lot about Cat’s Cradle and Breakfast of Champions after the film, and was wondering if anyone else felt the same

Books are ordered within ranks too (mostly).
The lower ranks are not bad books by any means, I’m just comparing them to my experience with the top tier ones
Edit: I forgot God Bless You Mr Rosewater! That would be first in B tier

I just finished reading cats cradle, its almost 11pm and i just can’t believe it. That was sooo good!! Everytime I pick up another one of his books i think “oh well this one won’t be as good” but he just keeps outdoing himself. I’ve never read anyone else who writes like him and i don’t think i ever will. I can’t believe everyone’s not just talking and thinking about Vonneguts books constantly, hes so great.

Hi fellow readers! Feel like you would love the new Iñárritu film DIGGER. Really reminded of something Vonnegut / Kilgore Trout-esque. For those who did watch let me know your thoughts on this take (:

This song came on the radio on my way home today. As I listened and contemplated the lyrics, it hit me that they could easily fit into a Vonnegut work. A girl’s balloons in the air mistaken for enemy aircraft, sparking nuclear annihilation…so it goes.

I read Mother Night and Slaughter house 5 a while ago and absolutely loved them and a bunch of people told me Cats Cradle is his best so here we are. I really don’t like this cover but the prettier one was a lot more expensive. So it goes. From what I’ve heard this seems like it’ll be pretty good too, better be worth it because I’m reading this instead of revising for my test tomorrow 😓

idk if this is a stupid question or not but is the cage on this cover of Cats Cradle drawn by vonnegut or another artist?

I think it's become an addiction. 😁

"This new explosive was regarded as a great boon to big- brained military scientists. As long as they killed people with conventional rather than nuclear weapons, they were praised as humanitarian statesmen."
