It doesn't look possible for him to get to this block. He's quick!

Mara's first career block comes on a Wembanyama alley-oops attempt. Hollywood storyline.

With him going crazy last night and his dedication to the team, we gotta crown him with a nickname. Any ideas? let’s get too cooking.
(Edit: obviously JMac is already a nickname but I was thinking something based off his play style or personality not his actual name)
Edit 3: go through and check if your idea has been commented yet, ill gather the top however many and do a poll later on the sub :)
Edit 4: the poll is up cause I lack Patience

He pins chets left arm down and does an up an under on chets right side then steps into chets body and goes low for the throw using his body.
DeErin is poison and it’s clear why he was traded. He has a loser mindset and will never win a ring.

- 12/13 bricked FGs (94% consistency creating this shot)
- 4/4 bricked 3 pointers (100% consistency putting up this shot type so far.)
Consistency and being able to know what to expect from a player is extremely important and I beleive this contributed to SGA's 2x MVPs. However SGA has only had about 50% of these shots consistently going in. That is insane, but not as insane as the nearly 100% consistency shot Wemby has been putting up so far this season.

Growing up Alex Abrines was my favorite player, and I loved how whenever he got a 3 the announcers would go “ALEX ABRINES FOR 3, SI SEÑOR!”
We haven’t had the opportunity for it ever since until now and quite honestly I’m not sure when we could use it for Mara but, I would love to see it brought back for like an incredible dunk or something.
Idk I could just be living off of nostalgia but what do y’all think?

You know the nba is back because the psychosis of discrediting Shai has already begun. It cracks me up, what other player has every single one of his plays from every game deeply analyzed to see whether he is bending the rules or not.
People posting the sick baseline jumper saying the most obvious gather two-step is travel, while ignoring the fact that every nba player uses it because it’s literally in the rules. It says something that people would rather focus on whether it should be a travel without noticing how incredible it is to pull that off and hit such a tough shot. Its absolutely insane that so many people can tell me they love basketball and don’t like watching SGA play with a straight face. I feel like im taking crazy pills.
Anyways all this to say, it’s going to be a full season of this. Reminder to not let these fools take away your enjoyment of this team. We truly are in an unprecedented and fortunate era to get to enjoy this team in our tiny ass city. I will not be gaslit by the mass psychosis that this team isn’t incredible to watch. SGA go win your 3rd MVP.
TLDR: Shai good. R/nba stupid.
TTFU
Fuck the spurs
Fuck r/nba

After the Ring, the trade and the MVPs, us being entrenched in what will be THE Rivalry of the 2020s is one of the most important things to happen to this franchise. What I’ve observed of our perception from the rest of the NBA is that they will give us credit for the 2025 ring but the caveats of “The 2024 Celtics would’ve beat us” and “We won because of a torn Achilles” don’t etch this team into the STORY of NBA history. Obviously our names are in the record books forever but I want this team to be immortalized in story as well as accolades. I want to be a historic team that makes a historic franchise like Bad Boys Pistons, the 80s/00s Lakers, LeBron Cavs, Curry Warriors, Bird Celtics, 90s Bulls. I don’t want to be the “Spurs of the modern NBA” because yes those teams were successful and played beautiful basketball but in my eyes they were mainly regarded as a boring formulaic team.
I personally would like to leave a mark in the story of the game. Our team before the Spurs rose to be a “formidable” rival was just regarded as a great team that blew out opponents and played great defense. Now we have an Austin to our Rock, or vice versa. This rivalry is bringing back REAL hatred in the NBA and we get credit for it. The games are box office even in blowouts. This gives our team much more personality (in the media and rest of the NBA) and I care about being remembered in history. People talk about the Giannis finals performance in 2021 not the Bucks anymore. We need a rival. We need to be seen as an actual villain to a team that has prestige and not just a team people hate because of “play style” narratives. I want to be polarizing not just disliked.
Jokic and the Nuggets are too old and flawed, Ant and the Wolves might actually never win anything. The Luka Lakers just outright suck. We needed to be the team that beat down on golden boy, “Face of the NBA” Wemby because that rivalry will help solidify our story along with our accolades.

Ajay is from Belgium Waffle University, and now Cason is from Clamps University! I knew he learned his defensive skills from somewhere.
PS I think Dylan Harper said "The Crib University", way less prestigious then Clamps. Anyone is accepted in The Crib.

Last year everyone was crying about how our players get away with so much yet the Spurs players were literally being dirty in every round of the playoffs. Last night they were trying to pick fights and playing like the Bad Boy Pistons but all I see is people making jokes about it instead of acknowledging the actual issue. They called us dirty but I barely see anyone batting an eye at how aggressive that team actually is and not even just against us.

I'm sick of people saying "excuses" when I bring up injuries after our game 7 loss. I think people finally realize that an uninjured OKC team is actually way harder to beat...

Anyone else genuinely in great spirits after last nights win? Not only did we beat Wimpy and the dirty Spurs but we looked so comfortable out there. Beautiful basketball all around. A healthy Thunder team is genuinely the best team in the league without a doubt man!!

This guy from day 1 has been an absolute difference maker. Of all of Presti’s trades, this might be one of the best ever.
What a player.

I’m really curious to know what Shai said to mark when he got pulled in the 3rd quarter. you genuinely NEVER see shai get like that but he looked PISSED. He got all up in Marks face. I’m assuming he didn’t like getting pulled and could probably feel the momentum shifting if he went out for a long period.
Anyone who can read lips clarify what he said? We need Jomboy to break this shii down!

What if the Spurs were the ones that called Mara’s Spanish pro team? They said, “Hey! You can sue OKC about Mara’s contract and they’ll have to send him back.” Just a theory.
