I don't even know what else to do at this point. I'm just tired.
I graduated back in June with a B.S. in Computer Networking. For years, finishing school felt like the light at the end of the tunnel. I've spent nearly a decade grinding through dead-end, low-paying jobs just trying to survive, telling myself that once I had the degree, Iād finally be able to build a real career and stop stressing about every single dollar.
Instead, I've spent the last four months shouting into a void.
Iāve applied to practically everything with a screen attached to itāentry-level IT, basic help desk, technical support, paid internships, whatever gets me in the door. Iāve rewritten my rĆ©sumĆ© until words don't look real anymore. Iāve gone to career fairs, tweaked cover letters, sent LinkedIn messages, and followed every piece of standard advice out there.
Almost all of it ends in an automated rejection email or dead silence.
What really stings is watching life happen around me. My brother and his wife moved in with us recently and both landed great, high-paying jobs right away. Don't get me wrongāI love them and Iām glad theyāre doing well. But sitting in the same house, watching someone else easily cross the finish line while you're breaking your back just to stay at the starting line, messes with your head. It makes you feel broken, like there's some secret everyone else knows that you missed.
People keep telling me, *"You just graduated, be patient."* But this isn't just about the last four months. Itās about ten years of scraping by, betting everything on this degree, and realizing Iām sitting in the exact same spot financially that I was before. I don't want to get rich quick. I literally just want an entry-level job that pays enough for me to breathe and afford an apartment of my own.
Please don't tell me to tailor my keywords or follow up after three days. Iām doing all of that.
For anyone whoās been stuck in this ditch: how did you keep from losing your mind? Did it actually get better, or are we all just faking it? Right now, it feels like I'm running toward a future that doesn't actually exist.
Early this year, I took a massive pay cut so I would not lose my job. Was promised a bonus structure to help make up the cut, but that was almost non-existent.
I do 10 hours overtime a week to make ends meet. I don't want to, but I have to.
Today we got told to limit overtime to below 5 hours/ week and then at our benefits meeting was told that our health insurance is going up by at least $40/ per paycheck.
I am so scared right now. I am already late on some of my bills and had to cut down on groceries and expenses. I don't know how I'm going to do this.

You ever bite into an apple that feels like itās going to be the crunchiest apple ever only to be met with the texture of frozen apple sauce. It ruins the experience and makes me viscerally uncomfortable. This just happened and no one in my home is awake. Man I fucking hate grainy apples. I donāt judge if you enjoy these types of apples Iām sure there are people who do.

Pretty self explanatory. I work at Walmart. Walmart has a 5 point attendance policy regarding callouts. I had 4 points, but was supposed to have another one fall off at the beginning of next month. And then I got sick. I donāt really want to explain the root cause of me feeling ill because itās kinda personal, but long story short, I feel like butt. Intense cold symptoms followed by nausea and not being able to sleep. I called out of work earlier this week, had a day off, and then called out for today and tomorrow. I filed a claim to see if I can get my absences excused, but Iāve never used their claims system before and Iām not sure if itāll get approved. I did go to urgent care and Iām also seeing my PCP tomorrow, so hopefully thatāll vouch for me. But I know if my claim isnāt approved, Iām probably going to get fired because this will bring me up to 8 points.
Iām just pissed because instead of resting and getting better Iām sitting here worried about my job that I donāt really like but canāt afford to lose and frantically applying to jobs on Indeed in the event that I lose my job. And my birthday is on Saturday, and Iāll probably still be sick. Fml

everyday feels so fucking difficult. It feels like Im blind to all the good shit in my life all the time. like my brain was perfectly manufactured to feel nothing but pain no matter what it is that is happening to me. It feels like nothing ever goes my way, and if it does its something I would've been fine without. I cannot do anything right. Its like god is spending every single day up there wondering how far he can push me before I kill myself. Like im some little fucking experiment. Why couldn't he just make me normal. why cant I just stop thinking about the stuff that hurts so much. I dont get it. I have such a privileged life. why is it I cannot see that. all I can see is whats wrong, thats it. I really hope that god saves me the work and just kills me in my sleep.

Yesterday I just experienced one of the most inappropriate scenarios at work. I'm doing an internship at this company, like 200+ employees so I get new reactions to my height every day.
I had to get some documentation from an admin office, first comment is a guy exclaiming how tall I am, I just reply with the usual "I don't know myself". Next thing he asks (and I'm not even joking) me to take off my pants so they could see if I'm tall "both ways". He spoke in french (i barely understand), so I didn't know but as usual I just laugh cus they also laughed. I only noticed something was off when the lady in room said something like "wait let me get out of the room first" (again in french).
Another dude walks in, he's tall (maybe like 6'0"), and the others are like "you see your boss?", they laugh and all, then "pants could be struggling to carry those".... Again I just laugh cus I still don't really understand what they're saying.
Just then one of the workers says to them I don't know french, that's why I'm being quite despite everything they're saying. Regardless, what could I have said lol, I'm only a 20yo intern and they're like 50yo OG workers there.
Just earlier that same day, after missing breakfast at another office, one of the workers there said something like "geez, you're talll (said "long" on french so I assume), and then "I'm sure your thing down there I big too".... All in french but I understood because somehow he decided to make the actions with his hands very clear. I again just laughed so they thought I didn't understand what they said. A very weird worker, comes and tap my shoulder saying "you didn't hear what he said? He said you're so tall, your thing down there is probably long too..."
Wow, I never thought I'd experience this sorta stuffs in my life, especially from MEN. worst of all, they're all wrong

It's disheartening and disturbing that there is a SUCH a lack of empathy in current day society. What happened to kindness and helping others out? I don't know if it's due to the social isolation that GenZ experienced during their developmental years (because of COVID), or whether it's because times have changed but I feel as though there is such a lack of human decency from GenZ, as a member myself. I strongly believe that COVID and the such high exposure to the internet and anonymity that it provides has made so many individuals bystanders to either situations online or in person. If somethings wrong SAY SOMETHING. Who cares if you're going against what the crowd is doing??? DO THE RIGHT THING and PUSH & ADVOCATE for it. I'm sick and tired of hearing children getting hurt either by others or themselves because nobody did anything to prevent it. Bullying has been out of control. I truly wish there was less of a desire from both my generation and people in general to be liked from the public. If we didn't as much, there would be more people stepping up and calling either for help or for attention when issues arise. Please, I urge you all, if you haven't already, to start thinking independently and critically. Think about what is right or wrong, argue ethics. Stop waiting for someone else to do something when YOU can.
I'm also sick and tired of the tremendous amount of people who always complain and never do. Seriously, if you have enough time to sit around and complain, DO SOMETHING to support/help! There are so many ways, either active or passive, to push for what you believe should be done/is right.
I wish I didn't feel so alone in this fight for bringing back the unity that humanity once had.

I found out over the weekend that my ex is dating the friend that used to hang out with us while we were together. I am so unbelievably heartbroken and betrayed that he would settle for his friend after everything hee put me through. Iām more importantly, canāt believe that girl would still date him after she knew everything he did in our relationship. And Iām sure he tells her all the things that he used to tell me. i wonder if he treats her like he did me, or maybe better. maybe he liked her all along. maybe im stupid for thinking he could ever love me.

Not sure how many can relate, I hope no one goes through it. I have been feeling kinda depressed for the last few months, and I could never share it to anybody because no matter how I try to bring up the conversation, they start bringing up their experience.
I tried being vulnerable once, and it felt so good. But I am not allowed to be vulnerable anymore. I keep my guard up all the time. It has been up for so long that I am afraid what if it comes down and I go to a darker place?
I came home after a very long time hoping to meet my school friends, I kinda expected everyone will invite me. Sadly, no one invited me and whenever I opened Instagram I see others posting stories with their friends and I see my school friends enjoying and roaming around.
Itās been 10 days I came to my hometown and I havenāt went out even for a single day other than buying cigarettes and thats it. No one to drink with, nothing.
I stay alone and I feel lonely because thereās no one to talk to. At least during festivals, I hoped that it will be fun and exciting. I was wrong. Looking everyone being beautifully dressed and couples holding hands and them enjoying with their family and friends, it made me feel jealous. I donāt wish ill for anyone, but I wish I was a part of it too.
I am gonna return to where I work in 2 days, and I wonāt be having anyone waiting for me.

Iām so so so done with my health. For years Iāve complained about my tiredness, my headaches. Feeling just so defeated when it comes to my health. For years I have been feeling like this and I was finally diagnosed with Hashimotos a few months back which im grateful for. But everyone just blamed it on not eating healthy, not drinking enough water, etc. and I know those are things you obviously need to do to be healthy. Iām still dealing with these stupid migraines. Thankfully the hashimotos is treatable. But Iāve had these migraines since I was a little girl. I drove 2 hours to see my neurologist and what did she tell me āMake sure youāre eating healthy, drinking lots of water, and getting a good night sleepā Iāve gone gluten free, grass fed meat, no GMO or MSG. Everyone else that I know of my life has no problem getting the help they need. āOh you have a migraine? Hereās a preventativeā but when I have one Iām just handed a device called Nerivio. I donāt understand how everyone around me gets the help they need instantly and I have to wait for months or when I do get in, they tell me itās because Iām not drinking enough or Iām eating bad food. I had an ultrasound done on my thyroid back in April and I havenāt heard back about the nodule on my thyroid yet. Itās been 6 months. I know doctors are busy, but I am so tired of feeling sick all the time. I just want to feel better.

Ive been sick for 3 weeks. Me and my kid. Went to dr, was given nasal spray, inhaler for both. I asked how do I apply it to a child (knowing what device was given) he said you'll have to ask a pharmacist, there's a chamber attachment. I said, Great, is there an indicator how many breaths they take ? (Knowing I've seen that for Animals online, Not knowing it it is for people) he said no. I also ask if nasal spray is steroid, he said no.
Go to pharmacy. Same questions, he says, no there's not an indicator, you could hold it for 10 seconds or more, if you're not sure how many breaths they had. Also said, nasal spray is Not a steroid, an immune booster drug.. I thought, Cool. Didnt know that was a thing..
Take them home, chamber Does have an indicator on it. Because both didn't know, I had No idea how many breaths they were supposed to have..
Google nose spray.. it Is a steroid.
Both, Dr And pharmacist. Had No idea of the medication, Nor equipment they were giving.. this is something I've dealt with for a Long Time. Where they seem to just bs their way through.. I find out theure lying, etc, later when looking myself .
Pharmacy, I'm surprised bc theyre Supoosed to know everything about a medication .
Yeah. If I had some sort of issue with steroids, would be in Big trouble .. also, I'm going what I know of vet videos, people with Cats who have asthma. 10 breaths (or up to 10 seconds) ..so yeah. I'm learning, getting more info from Vet Videos than asking same questions to dr .
Asked about attachment. Asked if there was indicator. Asked if nose spray was steroid.
Both said no, to all .

I dared to enjoy two cookies today so now I basically have to have half of dinner. Why is everything so fucking calorie dense š
And theres like no low cal options in my town and I'm sick of buying fresh veggies that rot within one day. Also veggies are not filling at all. I hate dieting. I work on my feet 9 hours a day and try to exercise and yet I'm still consistently gaining weight.
Just wanted to bitch. I feel better now.

So this took place around 6 years ago.
I donāt understand people who donāt allow you to grow outside of what they knew or perceived you to be years ago. Especially people who havenāt spoken to you or kept up with you in years.Ā
I was not a perfect teenager. Was I a bully? No, I was heavily bullied. However, I acknowledge that as a teenager, I was not easy to be around due to having an undiagnosed mental illness at the time that was not being treated, as well as trauma that I needed to work through. I was very up and down emotionally and had some attention-seeking behavior. I have since seen a therapist and am much happier with the person that I am today.Ā
So anyways, I grew up going to school with a girl we are going to call Gale. Gale and I werenāt particularly close growing up; weād talk to each other at school, but that was really about it. I never had any issues with her, but I never really considered her a friend. She was nice to me, but we just had different interests and groups of friends, which is fine. We lived in a very small town where all the kids know each other at school.Ā
So I moved ot a different town and started at a different high school going into my sophomore year and never spoke to Gale throughout the rest of high school and my college years. I had one brief interaction (before this event) with her at a gas station, where I had an embarrassing moment in front of her, but that was about it.Ā
Anyways, Gale started working at the Walmart in the town I moved to. I saw her there frequently whenever I was shopping there when I was home from college. Iād smile at her, but that was about it. Time went by; I didnāt see Gale working at that Walmart anymore, and I ended up applying because I needed a job. I got the job at Walmart, and everything is fine and dandy.Ā
One day, Iām at work at the cash register, and I notice Gale talking to one of my coworkers. Fine, cool; she used to work with him. I didnāt think anything of it.Ā
Later that day, Iām in the break room on my lunch break, and the coworker Gale was talking to comes and joins me at the table Iām sitting at. He starts asking me, āDo you know Gale?āĀ
I responded, āYeah, we went to the same schools growing up.ā
He then started to explain to me that he wasnāt trying to start any issues or upset me, but thought that I should know that Gale was telling him and another coworker some really bad things about me from middle school. About how attention-seeking I was, how nobody liked me, and other things.Ā
While I was hurt by this, I was glad my coworker told me. I donāt think he was lying because he said some things that he couldnāt have possibly known unless she told him. But I was also confused. I hadnāt had an actual conversation with Gale in about 5 years. Why did she feel so comfortable talking badly about me to a coworker? Why did she feel comfortable talking badly about me after not speaking to me in years?Ā
Personally, I donāt care what my beef is with another person; I would never go into their place of employment and start bad-mouthing them. Especially if I hadnāt spoken to them in years.Ā
While in those five years I had never reached out to Gale to see what she had been up to, she had never done the same to me. She didnāt know all the therapy I went through after I moved to a different high school and then also in college. She didnāt know that I had undiagnosed mental illness in high school. She didnāt know or see the growth I have had. Hell, Gale had some not-so-great moments in middle school either.Ā But I choose to believe she has grown since then.
Maybe itās just me, but I try to believe that people can change since the last time I was around them, especially if it has been years. Iām not going told against someone how they acted while going through middle school. I think we all know that middle school and puberty sucked. Not all of us were shining stars.
I know that I donāt have to prove to anyone that I have changed. But to bad mouth me at my place of employment? I mean I know it was Walmart, but seriously?
I see this online a lot too of people getting mad at a celebrity for something they said as a teenager. Are we as human beings not allowed to grow? Are we forced to be stuck in a certain spot that someone else wants us to be in?

hii guys iām 21F and im very lonely ive lost alot of things since i was 16 and i find it very hard to let go of. I come from a financially unstable family my parents moved a lot to be able to afford a good life for me and my sister.
I feel horrible being sad even though they sacrificed so much for me and i feel selfish. I missed out on a lot of parties, my graduations and had to leave friends behind and i was temporary always. Theres so much happening in this world and im here in my room sad over stupid stuff. I also have a loving bf who might be growing sick of me and i donāt blame him i cry alot im always sad everything is a huge thing for me, my small loses make me miserable i also got horribly back stabbed from my only friend group 2 years ago and till now i cant stop thinking about times they hated my guts and i never noticed.
Im trying to recover from an ed i hate my body and my face and my voice its like i blame myself for everything i think if i was someone else this wouldnāt happen to me maybe i was cursed im already a shame for my family so i dont know if i would even risk getting therapy because that would be like admitting that im made wrong.

so my flatmate keeps cooking in the kitchen from like 12:00pm at night sometimes till 2am like he is currently lol and my room is right next to the kitchen so I can hear literally everything. the walls are really thin and even if they're humming I can hear it, and it's starting to get on my nerves but I don't know whether to do anything about it or speak to them as they're leaving the flat soon anyway..

I used to teach at our local high school, 20 years ago. It didn't end well, mostly because I worked myself to death and tried to do too much -- stressed myself out, lost sleep, got behind, couldn't catch up with what the job really needed. I didn't have help or support from the admin, and I only lasted 2 years. It was the loneliest time of my life.
We should have moved out of the district after that. Now, years later, my son is a senior there and I hate, HATE going to that school for his events, which thankfully are relatively rare because he's not super involved in things that parents attend (he does clubs, but not performing arts or sports.) It's a good school. His teachers are good. Better than I was 20 years ago, for sure. And, to be sure, the schools he went to when he was younger also did a good job, even through COVID.
But I can't wait for him to be done with the year. In 7 months I'll never have to hear from this school again about anything. No daily emails, no Sunday robocalls with updates, no fundraisers, no invites to events. Done.

Hello, yknow. I've always thought that if i just kept being kind to everyone and just worked hard and was on my best behaviour I'd achieve something. But being a people pleaser has made me realise that nobody gives a fuck about me. I'm just lil ol' me who just never gets angry at anyone, is super sweet and let's everyone just use me. I'm in highschool. I'm in the student council. Vice prez. I work my ass off. And i get no respect or recognition. I've realised that this facade of being a good person that I've been putting up has done nothing for me. I hate it. There is no point in hiding the fact that I'm just not a good person. Yknow, after middle school ended, i took a year off from school because I was struggling with shit mentally. Got a psychiatrist (i hate that guy) got diagnosed with bpd, depression, stpd, cptsd, adhd and Gad. And im like damn that's allot of words mr psychiatrist and he's like yes because that's what you have and I'm like okay man. Guy gives me pills. All they do is make me feel numb and weird. Doesn't help with anything. I hated it. So 9 months into the whole thing I stopped visiting and stopped taking my meds. I worked on myself and started feeling better. Started highschool. And I didn't tell anyone why I took that gap year. I hide it from everyone. I don't tell anyone what happened. Only the headmistress and the council coordinator knows it. And even they don't know the extent. They just know it was mental health issues.
I don't even feel like telling anyone, or my friends. Imagine the horror! BPD and STPD together seems scary! Guy must be a psycho when all I want is peace all I want is order. Just.. ugh i just want everyone to just take it easy and not assume shit. I want everyone to just calm the fuck down.
Like sure. I get pissed. I don't show it. I get sad. I don't show it..why? Because everyone is gonna use it against me. If I get angry? They find a reason to hate me or push me away. If I get sad and cry? Theyll call me weak and a crybaby. I hate it. Yknow what i don't hate? Myself. I love myself. I'm the best human I've met. Sure there are millions of people better than me but I'm so glad I like myself and that I met myself because I'm my best friend and I just understand myself so well! Anyways. That's just what I needed to get off of my chest thanks mwah love you bye

Had to rush my son into hospital late on Monday night. Last time I was at that hospital, the car park had a ticket machine that operated a physical barrier and it was broken for ages when we had been in the past. This time there was no barrier at all and I just presumed it had broken again.
For the duration that my son was in the hospital, I had to go home and get supplies twice more, so came and went thinking it was fine because there was no barrier to entry/exit. Today I have to go back because his condition worsened, this time it's daylight and I see "ANPR system is now live" (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) so I'm likely to be hit with 3 Parking Charge Notices for Monday night.
I know I should have checked for signage but I was rushing because my child was needing urgent care and because he was vomiting so much, he and I needed changes of clothes (my wife managed to avoid being vomited on!) and we were being kept in for observations so needed more than just that and it was also 10pm/1am/3am so not exactly thinking clearly.

Humans are the most vile creatures to ever exist. They are all the same, being so quick to try to put themselves in the right. People can say āWe are the most empathetic speciesā and āThe whole reason we have society is because of our ability to care for each otherā but I couldnāt give less of a shit.
People will find any way they can to feel better about themselves, even if that means worsening others. And people who are arenāt ābad peopleā and are ākindā still have that same drive to feel good about themself.
I hate that people call people good for solving problems they caused. I hate how people will show hatred to another human being for no real reason. I hate society puts so much value in things that we canāt control, and donāt matter in the slightest. I hate people that justify their actions because āHe did something worseā just because people never want to be in the wrong.
There are some good people, but I donāt think theyāre enough. Because for every good action, thereās an action twice as bad.
Side note: Whatever cruel, fucked up god there is, bless the man who invented bread, he was the best dumbass ever, for putting old dough in the oven.

We got on well at the start because we had loads of interests and she acted like she was truly damaged from trauma which was what we really bonded about because I understood her hurt, i thought she came from a poor background like me because thatās what it seemed like she kept saying she couldnāt afford a horse like me and couldnāt afford other things.
I slowly started to realise she wasnāt who I thought she was. A few years to the friendship in she got the money for a horse from her grandparents it wasnāt a lot about Ā£4000 (which is a lot to me) and I was so happy for her because it was a dream we shared and I understood her pain of not having a horse, and overjoyed because obviously she would let me ride and it would feel like my horse too, but thatās when it all went downhill and it seemed like the money went to her head and before that she was a nice girl.
(sheās around 30 btw) had a lovely upbringing, a house with the mortgage paid off, no trauma apart from getting a little bullying at school (didnāt everyone tho?) with both parents still around, grandparents still around, a brother and me that all loved her yet she manipulated everyone around her.
She would cry every time something doesnāt go her way, she even explained to me she did it on purpose so she would get attention and get her way, she even said she ran away so her parents can see how bad she is mentally, I was panicking so much that day trying to find her with the dog, because I genuinely cared.
She is a thief that took from me, she cried that she had no friends yet she had me and two other nice friends. I learned about a previous ābestā friend she had and apparently she fancied her so she cut her off yet she came out to me one day and said SHE was a lesbian after all. I think she actually had a thing for me after a while and knew I was straight, I felt uncomfortable around her I felt like her preeing eyes when she barged into my room, were just as bad as a peeping Tom man.
She said horrible things to me to put me down and then didnāt apologise like nothing had happened. She said horrible things about me to her mother which made her mother hate me.
Her getting a horse was still not good enough for her when I stopped helping with her horse because I realised I was doing the chores for her too much and helping out way too much when I didnāt get to ride often, suddenly it wasnāt so fun anymore, her family pay for her horses livery and vet bills now she sits on her arse and cries if she has to pay for it herself.
She lied to me about one of our friends on the yard getting a black horse, Iāve always wanted a black horse and she KNEW that (I can never afford a dog cat or horse) , I said āoh amazing, Iām so happy for her trulyā and I really was because I knew that yard friend had been through a lot and I empathised with her. THEN after I moved away I found out it was a GREY (white) horse not a black horse. So she blatantly LIED to get a reaction out of me to piss me off or something.
Then I stopped cleaning her room for her because I saw she was depressed I wanted to help her, but I had enough of everything else, I even had to touch her bloody tampons that were left everywhere.
Sheās so ungrateful she has a cat and a dog too that she doesnāt actually love or appreciate. She gives up every job she has because apparently āno one was niceā to her yet she was the one that put her middle finger up to staff at her new ādream vet jobā and thatās why she got fired.
I lived with her because at the time I had nowhere to go and I had to leave some of my important valuables behind to get out of that house.
I blocked her, I will NEVER speak to her again and it hurts because she was my BEST friend she used to be a nice girl before all this. Her dog loved me more than her and I can see why now, I feel sorry for that dog they never take him anywhere, she locked the new cat in her room so it would bond with HER and love HER only and nobody else.
