Straight to the nursing home.

u/Freakishly_Tall Sep 21 '26

And not the good one.

"You don't like socialism and regulations? Well, prepare for this private equity hellhole to bankrupt you. Good luck!"

u/TorrenceMightingale Sep 21 '26

Shady Acres it is. Shady Acres Hospice is attached for convenience.

159

u/auntpotato Sep 21 '26

I have a Shady Pines keychain my wife got me a while back as I always enjoyed the Golden Girls.

11

u/SailingSpark New Jersey Sep 22 '26

thank you, I just got one of those for my 79 year old mother, she turns that show on when the news gets too depressing.

6

u/auntpotato 29d ago

It’s a comfort show, for sure (Scrubs is the other one for me). Used to watch reruns with my parents years ago.

19

u/Breadedbutthole Sep 22 '26

Dorothy was such a firecracker

9

u/auntpotato Sep 22 '26

She was, indeed. Great cast all around and a great show.

79

u/AnyoneButDoug Sep 21 '26

You need a nurse or attendant urgently? Watch these unstoppable ads first.

12

u/ggg730 Sep 22 '26

The free market shall determine whether you get your meds or not.

10

u/Momik 29d ago

Already bloody does

4

u/ggg730 29d ago

That's the sad part of the leopards eating faces party but we do what we must to own the libs!

5

u/neverwrong804 Sep 22 '26

That’s dark AND plausible

1

u/BigTimeBobbyB 29d ago

I've worked in retirement homes like that before (though on the culinary side, which wasn't much better). In our facility you were lucky if we had more than two nurses on an overnight shift.

There were close to 150 residents.

4

u/ferretbreath Sep 22 '26

You just know Trump will sell airtime. He’d never pass up a chance for some sweet money. And he’ll shill gold plated Trump branded crap too.

1

u/TiEmEnTi 29d ago

*gold painted

22

u/1K-Year-Egg Sep 21 '26

And Shady Acres Crematorium is attached to that. Vertical integration (for horizontal patients)!

5

u/Freakishly_Tall Sep 21 '26

Vertical integration (for horizontal patients)!

It's... beautiful.

4

u/DrusTheAxe Sep 22 '26

Stack’em like cordwood! Think of the profit margins!

5

u/Higher-Frequencies Sep 22 '26 edited 29d ago

They just have 1000 foot deep pits under each room. They die, a hatch slides open and the bed tilts and dumps the body down the pit. Ready for a new one in minutes.

1

u/TorrenceMightingale Sep 22 '26

Uh… geez idk man. Now that you mention it… this whole thing sounds an aweful lot like what we’re trying to avoid. 🤦🏻‍♂️

4

u/DrusTheAxe Sep 22 '26

* A subsidy of Soylent Green Corporation

3

u/thatwilsonnerd Sep 21 '26

Now will go to sleep, or I will put you to sleep.

3

u/mr_oof Sep 22 '26

On the same block as Shady Acres Protein Supplement Labs and Shady Acres Dog Food Factory!

3

u/SomeGalNamedAshley Sep 22 '26

It's actually just a reefer trailer in the back that makes a weekly trip to the Shadly Lawn Cemetery. The family can opt to have them taken elsewhere but it's a $9000 prep and transfer fee.

2

u/Ceorl_Lounge Michigan Sep 21 '26

With a conveyor belt to the crematorium?

1

u/Confident_Benefit_11 Sep 22 '26

Probably has more mobile crematoriums than a Russian army regiment too....for convenience

1

u/oinkyboinky 29d ago

Shady Acres Cafe for visitors is just down the hall.

1

u/WitchDearbhail 29d ago

And if that fills up, there's always room at the Soylent Greens.

1

u/OhHaiMaaark 29d ago

Could just take him to “go live on the farm.”

1

u/notjustanotherbot 29d ago

Oh you mean the one with the attached crematorium next door to the sewage treatment plant? 😉GG I know.

1

u/Telefundo 29d ago

Nah sorry, there's a wait list. But we can get him in at Sandpiper Crossing!

1

u/im_dead_sirius 29d ago

Shady because its just acres of deep holes in the ground?

1

u/AchillesNtortus 29d ago

As well as Shady Acres Funeral Parlour And Rendering Plant (TM).

3

u/_Avalon_ Sep 21 '26

Fuck this is so grimly on the mark it made my stomach turn.

3

u/Freakishly_Tall Sep 21 '26

Hey, I wished him good luck.

So it's not THAT realistic.

3

u/Bubbles_2025 Sep 21 '26

Brought to you by UHC!

3

u/MRG_1977 Sep 22 '26

That’s a fate worse than death at some places if it is basically a storage facility where everyone is on Medicaid only coverage.

High staff turnover that is indifferent to neglectful, inadequate supplies, and poor quality food. Patients left to sit in their own shit and piss and at times far worse.

3

u/082426grateful Sep 22 '26

It really be like this. They all at the age where they expect their kids to take care of them while they are comfortably at home. We still working our regular jobs plus whatever we gotta do to pick up extra money.

Shit-assisted living is where the old and infirm who voted the way they did forever deserve to be.

5

u/gswblu3-1lead Sep 21 '26

One of those bang em and bin em joints

2

u/Dragonslayer3 Sep 22 '26

I don't think they're banging them at this level

1

u/Freakishly_Tall Sep 22 '26

Hey, don't kink shame!

Actually, you know what, in this case, go right ahead.

2

u/supersonicdutch 29d ago

Just go to your local emergency room/department and ask the staff which nursing home sends them the most people with bed sores, infections, etc. That’s the nursing home for your far right dad.

2

u/Atwenfor 29d ago

"Nursing homes are for lazy Liberal bums. Go pull yourself up by the bootstraps and eke out a living on the streets like a real man. And stop whining like a snowflake."

2

u/mobilecheese United Kingdom 29d ago

100 percent of the care staff have been cut for efficiency! We wheel you into an empty room and wheel you into a grave a few days later! That will be your life savings and your house please.

1

u/RolloTonyBrownTown 29d ago

the crooked home we saw on 60 Minutes!

1

u/Fr31l0ck Missouri 29d ago

Why put him in a home? Just let him rot to death in front of the tv.

6

u/catjuggler Sep 22 '26

Straight talk- my parents didn’t watch Fox News until they moved to a retirement community and got indoctrinated :(

3

u/UNisopod Sep 22 '26

Where Fox will be on at all times...

4

u/GroundbreakingLeg867 Sep 22 '26

My stupid-ass mom went full blown maga. Growing up she always expressed a fear about ending up in a home, and made us promise to take care of her as she got old. Anyway, now that shes finally in a home, they held an art contest (as these places do). My mom's "contribution" was basically a fucking shrine to orange hitler, complete with the trump-as-rambo flag. Obviously she did not win, and was essentially mocked out of that home and into a different, shittier assisted living facility where my step-dad cant smoke freely so now hes pissed. To make matters worse (funnier), the current residents of the assisted living facility learned of the art contest shrine, and now the mocking continues. WHY DID BIDEN DO THIS, you ask? It all started with a tan suit...

1

u/PaperMoonShine 29d ago

Bold of you to assume the kids will fund a nursing home.

1

u/Tactial_snail 29d ago

"This is so worth losing my family over!" - family guy cutaway gag of fox news blasting in a nursing home

1

u/ragun2 29d ago

Or just let them die alone in their homes and save the money.

1

u/JohnnyGlasken 29d ago

The crooked one we saw on 60 Minutes

1

u/Old_Cryptid 29d ago

I hear alcatraz is available. We could send him there. That would be the best nursing home. Big strong men with tears in their eyes would come up and tell him that they'd never seen a better nursing home!

Maybe one day all the friends and family I cut off will realize they’re shitty people who got conned by a pedo.

Maybe.

66

u/pfannkuchen89 Sep 21 '26

I’ve been waiting 10 years for my parents to realize. All they’ve done is dig in their heels further and buy into increasingly crazy bs.

7

u/Lazy-Gene-7284 Sep 22 '26

Wow even now ?

29

u/pfannkuchen89 Sep 22 '26

Yeah…
My mother was bitching just the other day how gas and food prices are actually Biden’s fault right now. Almost two years after he left office and despite the obvious fact it’s trump’s doing.

18

u/JoseDonkeyShow 29d ago

A guy told me the other day that gas was high because they’re trying to make trump look bad. These people are too far gone.

7

u/pfannkuchen89 29d ago

I’ve heard similar. I always want to ask them who is trying to make trump look bad? Like, who currently has the supposed power to make prices skyrocket like this? It’s not like republicans control every branch of government and most corporations that have any hand in affecting prices.

3

u/Self-Loathe-American 29d ago

A lot of the magas I have interacted with seem to think that most corporate leaders and billionaires are liberal elites.

6

u/XJR15 29d ago

Weird, seeing how ALL the richest pieces of shit in the US sat behind Trump in his inauguration

Just another bit of mental gymnastics to add to the pile I guess

1

u/Zer_ 29d ago edited 29d ago

They are Liberal elites, Liberalism =/= Progressivism. Bear in mind that "Classic" Liberalism is what lead to the gilded age, you know, the policies that lead the Great Depression. It's high time people realized that "Liberalism" as we understand it is heavily propagandized to make us think that it's not something that has screwed the average person over.

Modern Liberalism is often times referred to Neo-Liberalism, which basically started to chip away at all the social programs that came from the Depression and subsequent World Wars. The rise of Fascism in the 1920s / 1930s was made much easier by disgruntled workers seeking populists that could solve all their problems, trying to find anything or anyone to "fix" how the Liberal governments of the time catered mostly to wealthy business interests by suppressing wages and allowing for unsafe working conditions.

Now to be clear there's definitely nuance to all this, but that's the gist of it. One big worrying difference between the last time the Far Right started to gain traction and now is how modern workers are far less tied to Labor Unions or other organizations looking out for the average worker. We're far less capable of organizing because it's been deliberately kept out of our collective consciousness. Combine that with how the United States has propped up an extremely individualistic view of the world and you have Trump.

u/not-japanman 29d ago

u/slipperyMonkey07 29d ago

Pretty much whatever decides to click in their brain first, as long as it doesn't hold the orange blob responsible they will come up with the stupidest shit. I do my best to avoid them, but a few causes are Biden and Obama (yup they are still apparently secretly in charge of the government), I'm in NY so Hochul and James are regularly spouted as ruining all of NY, Hollywood / Liberal elites, then sometimes the oldies but goodies round about of sorros, gates and clinton.

Non of their answers will ever make sense, they just want to rant at people at the gas station, grocery store etc.

1

u/Zedboy19752019 29d ago

I get it. I hear all the time, Trump is getting it done. The others don’t like him because he gets stuff done.

44

u/RealGianath Oregon Sep 22 '26

My uncle died of Covid while cursing his entire family and not letting us see him on his death bed because we didn't support Trump. I don't think he had that realization before he went.

18

u/Bee_9965 29d ago

So he died of a hoax? No wonder he was pissed off.

Sorry you lost a relative who was probably a sane person before this cult came into being.

5

u/aktivate74 29d ago

that's just tragically ironic.

Narrator: They won't.

13

u/nightimestars California 29d ago

They will, but they won’t admit it because admitting they are a loser is worse than being cut off by everyone who used to love them. A truly sad, pathetic existence.

2

u/Ferelar New Jersey 29d ago

At best they'll sour on Trump and drop him, then immediately rush to the next idiotic malevolent grift. I have no confidence that the people who still support MAGA will have the slightest competence in figuring out the next con they're presented with before falling for it.

1

u/nofoxxxgiven 29d ago

He's a malingnent narcissist. A lot of emotionally stunted boomers. Malignents are the worst of them, and america has daddy issues.

1

u/Lashay_Sombra 29d ago

They won't, because they were not really conned, they just prioritised hate, prioritised destroying 'the other' over raising for all

Make America Great Again is all about making it great for themselves, hell on earth for everyone else

0

u/Acronymesis Washington 29d ago

I kind of think it would be cool if us types who went full “fuck all the way off” to our former maga friends and family started some kind of support group or something.

Or, like, a Reddit echo chamber.

Yeah. 😎

u/DecidiousLarch Sep 22 '26

It totally is. I had an old friend go so far off the rails. The messages I received from him made me believe that he was actually hacked. Smart, well-read dude. He sent screeds of text with no caps, crazy assumptions, easily debunked theories ... I mean ... wtf happened? The misinformation really, really works. They have perfected it.

3

u/SubArcticTundra Sep 22 '26

Did he have any risk factors? Was he particularly isolated or was it just an unfortunate coincidence of biased sources lining up in the right way?

2

u/thatguyryan 29d ago

Perfected it? Hmmm I'm pretty sure with increased control of the media and the help of AI, it will get insanely "better".

2

u/cire1184 Sep 22 '26

CBS is it.

2

u/ComprehensiveOwl9023 Sep 22 '26

He also owns the FCC so don't rule it out on terrestrial TV, or FCC will mandate that networks take an hour unedited or some such shit.

72

u/jmhalder Sep 21 '26

If Mike Lindell can broadcast a looping playlist online, I'm sure the Federal govt can figure it out.

With his buddies Larry Ellison (CBS), the FCC chair, and cable companies wanting minimal regularion... I'm sure they can force them to run it.

I bought truthsocial.rip as a domain because I thought "There's no way this even gets to a functional state", and now he exclusively tweets from it and charges for fast API use. It's publicly traded and totally bonkers that it's gotten this far.

Don't underestimate the weakness of others, and the grift by Trump.

20

u/tagman375 Sep 22 '26

I think they meant that the target audience won’t have any clue how to get to it.

4

u/bang_the_drums Sep 21 '26

it's absolutely riddled with ads too, literally scroll past like 4 gigantic ads to even see anything he sends out. It's insane

2

u/Simba7 29d ago

I legitimately think the only reason it met success is because he tweeted on it and people were using it to plan financial decisions based on his unhinged bullshit.

I think the charging for the early access was just an attempt to monetize that.

3

u/jmhalder 29d ago

I wouldn't call it successful from a market perspective, but from a financial perspective... it definitely is.

It will crash and burn when he passes on, or stops being relevant. Granted, that could be a damn decade.

WTH, HOW is that possible? By God we're F'ing cooked if people think fox news is too left-wing.

1

u/Msagtab Sep 22 '26

i really don't understand what fox is doing contentwise these days. its always on at my gym on a few of the TVs and they focus on democrats all day, they dont even bother pretending to try to spin republican stuff as a positive anymore.

they're anything but leftwing because it's 100% criticism but i dont know how their intended audience is supposed to stomach nonstop democrat coverage.

1

u/zombiesphere89 Sep 22 '26

I noticed the local diner switched from fox to newsmax

1

u/BallBearingBill Sep 22 '26

It's amazing how the right wing media pulls you down a rabbit hole so deep that Fox looks too left wing but I've experienced this myself at one point. Thankfully I woke up and saw the hole I dug myself into.

I hope your dad can wake up too.

1
